Kay's journey to health and happiness

Sorry I missed you but sounds like you with the help of the lovely ladies may have made a decision.

I think a brand spanking new group and fresh start with the buzz of new mini goals with shiny stickers and awards sounds brilliant plan BUT don't think you should change your stats on here. You are amazing you've lost an awesome 4 stone and not let major surgery and life lead to it all going back on. All of us on here know how inspirational you are and you need to believe it too. I think you deserve huge kudos for not only keeping going yourself but motivating us too. Also loving the idea of the PT. Would be particularly helpful given the need to be careful of your back. As the motto in my signature says look forward with hope not back with regret xx

Hello lovely, thank you for all the posts you leave on my diary, I do read them all promise, just fall behind with replying sometimes ;). Thank you for your lovely words of support, it really means a lot to me :). I am keen to start exercise very soon. I feel like I know the plan but have become complacent. I need something else to excite me to want to lose more if that makes sense :p. I hope to have things figured out in my head by the end of this week. I think November will be a brand new start and I'm looking forward to it :D. You've done so well Shelley, your a huge inspiration to me. I hope my losses are as half as good as yours hun . I'm so happy for you, your doing amazing !!

Congratulations on the job! If it were me, I'd combine the new group with the gym / PT and see what happens. I'm working full time and sometimes the last thing I want to do is cook when I get home. Now the weather is getting colder I'm using the slow cooker more which is a bonus because I get leftovers for lunch the next day out of it too! I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you!

Hey Ruby :p, how are you hun ? Thanks for replying to my earlier post. I really do feel like I've hit a wall . I need to figure things out in my head, there has been too many weeks gone by where I have just been messing around and not focusing. I am looking forward to doing PT training at the gym. I think having a personal trainer to whip my arse in gear will certainly help :copon: :D. My only decision now is whether to keep my stats or not. I'm seeing my C on Wednesday and will wait for what she has to say about it.

Hope your doing well with the plan lovely :).

Another quickie from me, you've had some fab support and suggestions. When you next go to group, whether it's a new one or not, have a look at the new extra easy cook book, there are some really quick meal ideas, many of which could be made as four portions and frozen. I know you won't always feel likes big cooking session after work but again, planning ahead and having the right ingredients, partially prepped in the fridge the night before, means you can come home and have a nice meal, plus three to pop in the freezer for other days. If you cook like that say three times a week, you'll soon have a good stash of 'almost ready meals' to dip into on other days. Xx

I've only just had time to catch up & you are far too hard on yourself sometimes, you focus on the negative & should focus on the positive, as had been said before you've lost so much, does it really matter you've faffed around this year, you're still on a loss which isn't bad.

Personally I'd be inclined to hold off going to the gym until things settled down at work, you're still recovering and need to remember that, it will take time to back to normal.

Good luck whatever you decided to do xx

Aww that's so kind of you L, thanks for that hun, I will defo look out for the book. I've never done EE, but I know it works fab for a lot of people, I'm so used to my x2 healthy extras :p hehe greedy bunny ! Your right batch cooking is really good for the winter, and I need to use my slow cooker.

I pm'd Sue today and Helen, I miss them both :( have you heard from them L ?

Thanks for posting Michelle :), your right about one thing, I am my biggest critic and I do expect a lot of myself , I guess sometimes it helps me and sometimes not. Because I'm trying to lose a huge gain, I'm not motivated because I'm not breaking new ground here, if that makes sense, so I keep looking back at what was, rather than what could be. I do feel positive about starting exercise but like you say, I will take it easy and mind my back. Thanks for thinking of me hun, I really appreciate it. I hope your doing well and having a fab week :):).

I've got my slow cooker out on the worktop now, have used it several times in the last week or so. I made Sue's potato and lentil casserole, which is delicious and freezes well, so I have portions of that ready for when hubby and daughter want something that I'm not willing to 'waste' syns on.

I've not heard from Sue, I know she was poorly but surprised she's not posted for a few days now. I had meant to pm her too but today has been hectic and I'd not got around to it, hoping she'd post. Hope they're both ok.

...xfactor is on and I've got the munchies

NO, NO, NO! Don't head to the biscuits or crisps! What have you got that you can use instead? Do you still have syns? How about a hot choc? I can make a very thinly sliced apple last a long long time while watching tv. I've also been known to drizzle just a wee bit of choc shot over it to make it seem more indulgent, sweet but with a hint of chocolate but not if that would start you craving more!! Be strong lovely!

I know Sue has posted some lovely recipes on the slow cooker thread. I really hope she's well. The casserole sounds yum :). I need to start using my slow cooker again, you reminded me :p xx

hehe, the biccys did cross my mind :p but I had a 0% fat Activia Yogurt instead, so its all good :) xx

Evening Kay how ya doing love?

Stay away from the badness!!! Have a long bath or something to keep you occupied hun xx

I'm good thanks Sheila :), been doing a lot of thinking over the weekend about how to get back on plan, been terrible these last few weeks. I managed to stay away from the biccys during xfactor so that's a result :p. Hope your well hun, I saw the recent pics you posted of Jackson, I'm surprised at how quick he's growing up, he's such a cutie. I hope Andrea is well and your sister too :).

Right early night for me, me thinks, I have to be up early tomorrow for work. Thank you all for your lovely messages today, I really needed the advice and support. I feel much better and focused. :). Night night ladies, sleep well.

Good Morning everyone :),

In bed having my peppermint tea and catching up on mins. Oh what a week its been (isn't that what Alan Carr says at the beginning of Chatty Man ? :p). It really has been one of those whirlwind weeks for me. I finally took the decision to take up my job. There's no turning back now, I'm working full time from now on, Mon-Fri. I will miss my free time, but when I get paid at the end of the month, I'm sure it will make up for it ;).

In terms of my next Op for my back, I think realistically speaking, it will be sometime next year, these things take time. In the meantime I am just using painkillers, but touch wood my back hasn't given me any problems this week. I think my anaemia is more under control now since taking the iron tabs. I feel a little less tired, although I still don't like early mornings  lol.

My only problem area now in my life is weightloss :sigh: . I'm doing terrible. I started to go right back to the beginning of my diary and note down the dates of when I got all my awards. It doesn't look good, I've wasted so much time. I started my SW journey in Jan 2013, I had 7 stones to lose to get to target, and its nearly coming up to 2 years now and I should have been at target by now. I know some people that have done that in 1 year :(. I know I've had my back problems and my Op but even so, 4 stones in 2 years is not brill, I know I could have done much better.

The last time I remember being fully in the zone was at the end of August this year, just before my cousins came from America. I was 2lbs away from my 5.5 stone award, then you all know the rest, the plan went out the window, I flunked and now I'm back at a 4 stone loss . I got my 4 stone award back in April this year, so that means for the last 6 months I have sucked at this and my weight has not gone anywhere  !

To think I was in the 10's in August and now I'm permanently in the 12's :(. I have another 3 stone to lose to get to target. It's now nearly the end of October. There are only 2 months left to the end of the year. I don't know why, whether its winter or what it is that's slowing me down but I feel I will stay at 12 stone even by the end of the year. I have lost my SW mojo and am just not feeling it anymore .

I have not been going to group for 3 weeks . I know if I go back I will have gained at least 7lbs , because I have been eating rubbish these past few weeks. Recently I have been doing a lot of thinking and my mind is telling me maybe its time for a big change. There are so many options going through my head right now, I wanted to share them with you all, I would love your feedback, I'm really confused.com at the mo .

Some of my ideas :-

1) Leave the SW groups, start doing it from home alone, just using mins, see how I go.

2) Join a new SW group, delete my history and start as a new member at 12 stones that needs to lose 3 stones to get to target. I am considering this as a serious option, I feel I need some kind of big shake up and a fresh start :).

3) Leave SW altogether, do Calorie Counting and 5-2. One of my friends on mins has recently done this and is having great success with it. She lost 6lbs in her first week :).

3) Slimfast or VLCD's - Before I did SW I used to be on CD, I lost lots of weight very quickly but put it all back on again  . I'm not too keen if I'm honest, its not the most healthiest way. I have also seen a lot of people jump ship from SW to Slimfast and have had great losses.

4) The Gym - Personal Training & SW - Before I did the CD I did do SW even before that and lost 2 stone in 2 months but I was having personal training sessions at the gym alongside doing SW. I am actually very keen on this option :p. My doc has said I can go back to gym, I can tell the trainer to work on light exercises for me, which will be ok for my back and I will still lose weight. Now that I will be working full time, I should be able to pay for personal training lessons in a month :). Foodwise I can stick with SW or CC.

I have loved SW and have lost 4 stone on it (well nearly 5.5 ), but with working full time I wonder how well I will adapt going forward. I know lots of you work full time and do it, don't get me wrong :p, I know its all in the planning and being super organised on weekends !

I haven't even done my Asda shop yet, no idea what I will be having for my work lunches this week  because I don't even know what plan I'm following ! I need to decide today. I'm thinking more to go with OPTION 2 and delete my history and start fresh at a new SW group as a new member.

Would love to hear all your suggestions. The bunny needs help :sign0009:.

Hi - I'm late catching up - and lots of people have given you some great suggestions - but I'll put my pennyworth in as you've always been there for me.

You have done well - maintaining your 4 stone loss is no mean achievement! I think you're in a similar situation to me - I've been messing about since June and put 15lbs during my long summer hol - and struggling to lose it.

Both of us have had good losses on SW and it's so flexible I think it's worth sticking at it - the personal trainer is a great idea too - I had one at my heaviest and felt I really benefitted. The other thing I think we both do - is to try to cut down our food intake too much (in an effort to speed up our losses) but because we're restricting things too much we end up giving up and overeating!

So how about doing SW and initially at least use the full 15 syns and HEs and 3 proper meals - if you can perhaps make some batches of soup and quick-2-prepare meals to freeze.

I've managed to do 2 whole days (big deal!) on plan in a row and feel better for it - someone here told me to take each hour at a time - good advice!! I'll be thinking of you this week - keep posting here for help when you have the time.

We can do this - an hour at a time - and not being too hard on ourselves! Hope you have a good week SW and work wise xx

Hellooo I thought my ears were burning :D I have just caught up on your diary. Congratulations on your job I think that you will be fabulous. As for the dieting choices I agree option 2 would probably be the best as I am sure it would give you a fresh new challenge and you will attack it with new determination. I know the salad challenge gave me a terrific boost aka bunny kick when I joined it. If you're like me you get a little stale and the mojo wears off. Mine's all but disappeared at the moment. I need a mega :asskick:to get going. Be very careful with the exercise though you don't want to undo your recovery. We are all behind you Kay. You can do it xx

Morning bunny! Have a brilliant first day and i hope everyone is lovely to you :) xx
