Kim's diary of being a new mum

Thanks girls, one more photo session this weekend and then i'm slowing down and taking it easy....well apart from hopefully packing and moving house and then the subsequent unpacking and sorting out baby's room and working full time until 38 weeks.....we can call that slowing down right? ;)

Joking aside on Monday night i was asleep on the sofa by 8pm - and i HURT my muscles felt like i'd done a full on gym workout, so definitely showed me that i can't do as much as i think i should be able to do. Problem is sometimes, despite the bump i forget i'm pregnant and want to do all the things i did before! Baby seems to be showing me it's dislike for some things....like my camera resting on my tummy - each time it kicked it really quick!

This year is really testing my family :sigh: we found out yesterday that my Aunt is having to go in for back surgery on Friday (she lives alone but we are a really close family so we tend to rally round and help as much as possible), so she is going to spend some time recovering at my mums before she goes back to her house, but hopefully she will be fully recovered by Christmas.

Baby is moving more and more and i've even felt it on my right hand side (where i think my placenta is?!) as i haven't felt anything there before. Baby is getting much stronger too as my stomach is moving more and more which is kind of weird but amazing....last night i ate dinner and then baby kicked really hard...mike even saw it, then it turned i think and i saw something moving across my tummy! was willing it to do it again so Mike could see it but it stopped!

Sorry i haven't been on much, life seems to be busy at the moment.....always is as December approaches, we start this week with the birthdays and now we have one every week until beginning of January! I will catch up with everyone's diaries when i get a few free moments! :)

Nope!! That doesn't sound like slowing down to me!! I'm glad i'm not the only working up so close to DD though.. Sorry that person has to be you!! lol Just take it easy and don't push yourself too much (yes.. I will take my own advice too!!!)

Sorry to hear about your aunt. Fingers crossed all goes well and she's fighting fit in no time...

I know, slowing down just never seems to happen at this time of year. I am lucky though that Mike is very good and makes sure i put my feet up at home and rest when i can, bless him he has really surprised me with how supportive he is.

We can work until the bitter end together Frances! :D I would take longer off before but i don't have the holiday to add on to give me more time (i took 3 weeks for my wedding/honeymoon and my leave year starts again in March!), and as i can only take 6/7 months of maternity leave i'd rather not waste too much of that waiting for baby to arrive, i want the most amount of time with baby i can get. I am hoping that i can continue working until 38 weeks but i am aware that if anything happens i may have to start my maternity leave early.

Thankfully my aunt has already had this surgery before and last time she recovered very quickly, so fingers crossed the same thing happens and she has a big improvement quite quickly! Anything has to be an improvement from not being able to walk 5 steps without being in agony....she has spent the last 3 weeks laying down 98% of the time as thats the only way she doesn't have excrutiating pain.

Aww... We're gona be finishing up and starting back in/around the same times.. YAY.. I'll have a buddy to go through it with.. All going well for us both of course.. Obviously should any hiccups get in our way one or both of us could end up finishing earlier.. But lets not think of that.. Think positive for positive results n all that :)
And there's only 2 days between our due dates too... Ooh exciting..

Yea Jonathan has really surprised me too... He's so cautious with everything and gives out to me for silly things (I say silly things but its like lifting an over loaded wash basket or the likes)

I know it'll be lovely to have someone to go through it all with :) including the going back to work....already dreading having to leave baby, but i know i have no options as we need the money, plus bubba will be with family mainly for childcare so it will have a ball especially on a wednesday when my mum has all the grandkids after school.

Yep definitely thinking positive thoughts! I will cope with working up to 38 weeks. I am just slightly scared of the "what if my waters break at work" thing....it would be SO embarrassing! I can imagine the chaos and excitement it would cause too...all while i'd be slowly dying of embarrasment! haha.

Yeah mike wont let me lift the washing basket either - especially as we have to cart our washing to parents/sisters house each weekend as we have no washing machine. I carried it back up the stairs last Saturday as he was out and he wasn't happy with me! oops! Bless them, it's nice they care and sometimes it's nice that Mike reminds me that i shouldn't actually be doing stuff as i tend to forget! The one thing he is really funny about is cleaning the bathroom - he wont let me near the bathroom to clean as he says the cleaning stuff is bad for baby...not that i'm complaining as i hate cleaning the bathroom haha.

Oh i have pulled the "i'm pregnant" card with the solicitor today! The estate agent emailed them and copied me in saying that we basically need to exchange and complete soon or it will have to wait until after xmas as the couple in the property we are buying are going on holiday! So i sent a "please, please, please make it happen before xmas i don't think i can cope with moving when i'm 32 weeks plus pregnant!" haha, lets see if it works. It was a bit of a grovelling email i hope they take pity on the pregnant one! :D

Aww.. You're lucky bubs will be with family... Ours will most likely be in a creche.. Am not looking forward to that TBH...

Good luck with the solicitor.. Hopefully he see's you have enough to be worry about with pregnancy and gets them to get a move on (whoever is holding things up!! they all blame each other!! its frustrating as hell)

That is definitely what is happening - out solicitor telling us the other solicitor is holding things up, they are saying ours isn't responding. Makes me want to do the job myself...i'm sure i could do it quicker than them thats for sure!!!

Yep.. Ours was the same.. But I used a bloke in works brother for my solicitor so I felt I couldn't push as much as I'd have liked.. But definitely would have done it far quicker myself... Its such a pain

hi hun x ohhh fingers crossed the pregnancy card works with the solicitor and they speed things up for you! Must be so frustrating x We only rent and that was stressful enough when we moved house, so can't imagine how stressful this is!! xx

Thanks hun, the most frustrating thing is that it's never clear WHY it takes so long and I have zero control over the speed as the solicitors just constantly say "but we are waiting for this and that". I am hoping that my email today might make them push for it to be before Christmas.

Oh that would frustrate me as well because I like to get things done, I HATE waiting around for other people. I'm a really patient person, but not when something needs doing and I think people are just being lazy - then I've the patience of a newt!

Fingers crossed for you sweetie xx

Thanks Jess!

Heard back from the solicitor yesterday saying she can't see why it can't happen before christmas, so going to leave them be today and then chase again tomorrow. Hoping if i leave them alone today they may actually get the report out to us so we can get things returned and moving in a hope to exchange next week or at the very latest the week after with completion not long after that! :)

I was laying in bed this morning and baby was laying on one side of my stomach and i ran my hand over where it was and i am sure it pushed it's head or bottom (not sure which?) against my hand, as there was a nice round little lump and then it disapearred. Its very cute being able to feel it more and more. It does make me worry a little bit that baby is getting big too quickly...yes i am terrified of having a 11 or 12 pounder lol, not helped by how big my stomach seems to be getting.

Oh and i had a dream that in the middle of moving i had baby and because we had nothing we put loads of pillows in a moving box and put baby in the moving box! haha can we tell what my brain is busy thinking of at the moment! Did make me chuckle when i woke up!

Ha ha great dream Kim. Just shows the two most important things you are thinking off.
Love being at the stage where you can feel all you baby move about. I can see its wee foot and bum sticking out now all the time.

Aw good news then x hopefully they are right and you could be in by xmas :) x

Lol @ your dream! :D it's funny what our brains think of... I had a dream last night I was going for a reeeeeallly long wee lol! I think that was wishful thinking because I haven't had a decent gushing wee for a while now lol xx

Just as long as you didn't actually have a long wee ;-) I don't wee much these days. I think I need a massive one then when I go it's barely there. Think baby is having a play with my bladder lol xx

Nooo lol although I have been known to do that when I was younger :\ dream of going for a wee and waking up in a puddle!! lol Ugh, it's so annoying. My bladder feels HUGE sometimes and I feel like I could do with a good ol' gush, but when it comes to it, it's like...a "trickle" lol so frustrating :) x

It's the most annoying thing on earth! Wait til baby is starting to engage, it gets worse! I do about six million tiny wees a day now, it's so frustrating! xxx
