Life begins at 30!

#1
Hi Everyone. :flirt2:
I turn 30 in 4 weeks and although I am not dreading the milestone I have decided that this is my chance to put a new plan into action. My weight has yo-yoed over the past 10 years or so but since getting divorced recently and comfort eating my way out of it the yo yo seems to be dragging on the floor a bit!!!

I have just recently joined a ladies only gym to help out with the excercise (gymophobics) and have found a love of walking but I'd like to combine this with a healthy eating plan to but not sure exactly which way to go - so any suggestions would be great!!! Slimming World has been about the only 'diet' that has worked for me in the past so kind of working to that a bit but I think I just need some more inspiration - which is when I found this site!!!! Looking forward to gettting some good ideas!!!! :)

Hi There,

Welcome to the site - it's brilliant!!!

I was 30 in June, and kind of had the same thinking behind losing weight as you...

I saw a hypnotherapist twice who gave me some great tips and then braved it alone on a healthy eating plan (paying attention to saturated fat's and sugar content as im diabetic) and so far i'm doing great!

I've also joined the Gym recently which I'm really enjoying.

The only advice i can give is that its important to find out what works for you....like many people on here i've tried many 'diets/diet pills' some have worked partially but with having children and eating too much i've put the weight back on, but now im not on a diet at all, it's a lifestyle change and it really does have to be for life!

Good luck,

Hi

I turned 30 almost two weeks ago and while I repeated the mantra - I will not be fat and 30 - for months before the big day, I didn't quite reach my goal, hence my registration on the forum today!
What I did do though was book a hol to coincide with my bday which gave me plenty of time to think about what I want to achieve and how I'm going to do it.
I got back yesterday and am now raring to go - and finding others with the same goals and challenges is part of the plan!
Hopefully we can help each other x
