LIFE GOALS????

Scazman - let me know about the school...I'm primary qualified and its one of my dreams to work abroad...

All your hopes and wishes are truly inspirational.
1. I already have a fantastic hubby of 18 years. To meet and love someone that completes you, is a dream come through.
2. I have 5 kids, all boys, and my dream would have been to have lots of kids, however my dreams were shattered when I discovered that all of my kids have disabilities. They all have lifelong disabilities, which will be a huge challenge for us for the rest of our lives.
3. My wishes are to help children with disabilities to reach their true potential, and to change peoples perceptions of individuals with disability. It is a privilidge to know and love children with special needs, they put life into perspective.

Is v true that :) My Mum gave up a v successful career as an accountant 10 years ago to take up a nursing degree specialising in special needs, she got her degree & has worked for the past 2 years both in the private & public sector for special needs as is currently trying to get her own business off the ground.

I've learnt SO much from her & her colleagues & the people they care for... back in the 50's special needs wasn't really understood & these people were more or less abandoned to a life of no stimulus being treated as kids or, worse, placed in mental asylums...

My Mum still works with residents now that have been lifers since childhood & right up till recently were just sat in a day room watching kids TV etc.

Inside most special needs peoples head is an active enquiring mind that needs stimulus just like you & I.... it's all about quality of life. :)
