Littlest Cupcake. Low GL living.

Patrick Holford is wonderful. I have two of his books, and they taught me a lot too :) Food looks wonderful. With low GL you don't have to worry about doing low carb eating. As eating the right carbs is part of the low GL lifestyle :)

Ohhhh refined sugar can be evil when you go away from it. I had a strawberry scone in the US, and it was one of my first refined sugar I ate. It gave me one of the worst headaches I ever had, and even with Tylenol it wouldn't go away. Though now I have to detox myself away from the refined sugars again. Darn my vacation >_<

I might get them after I've read the one I got tho. I got it nearly new (seriously its never been opened) from amazon for less than 1.50 delivered haha. Bargain! Am looking forward to understanding what you're all on about lol x

wow 1.50! BARGAIN!

i ended up having turkey burgers for supper with sweet potato.

i also baked a low carrot and walnut cake with cream cheese frosting for snacks over the weekend. wow. i am on a diet and eating cake.

life is amazing haha.

dont know what it will taste like yet...but i was astonished at how blooming easy it was to make.

nearly the weekend guys! any plans?

Cali, the reason i was on a diet to begin with was to lose the weight i put on living in america haha! land of plenty plenty plenty! xxx

Mmm that cake sounds yummy! Look forward to a pic and a review :) off on my hols to Weymouth with the kids for a week tomorrow x

I just got back last week from a two month vacation back home. I eventually broke down and ate things I shouldn't have. But then again it was over 4.5 years since I was back home in the states. Land of plenty it is, and so many foods I hadn't had since I moved = weight gain >_<

Oh i love sweet potatoes. Your food sounds lovely. Mmmmmm cakes, if I lived closer I would be stopping by to test taste your cakes :p

I really can relate to your feeling that life does revolve around diet planning

I must admit .. that helps me .. I like the feeling of being in control that the planning gives me

hi copper. i agree. because of my history with anorexia...control is a big thing for me so even tho planning is time consuming..it really helps me xxx

have a great holiday Rkm! hope the weather is kind to you!

today has been one of those days that has just got away from me! hehe.

the curry last night was just amazing. im a massive curry fan...and had missed it sooooo much! i followed it with a herbal tea and a slice of the walnut cake that i made! it was soooo scrummy. really moist and full of flavour but also really filling and not sweet so you didnt crave more. it says in the book serves four but i had a slice,my boyfriend,my mum,my dad, my boyfriends parents, i just had another slice and there is still one slice left!

i couldnt quite believe while i was eating all this yumminess that i am technically on a diet!

today i did my tesco shop for next week...hundred pounds! gulp. but that did include ingredients for a kilo of granola haha. i am making granola and white choc cookies for next weekenf as i am going to visit my oldest friend who i havent seen for ten years! of course i also bought champagne to celebrate our reunion...but as i am usually teetotal..i think one glass will see me through, its more as a gift for her :)

daily plan:

breakfast: homemade muesli,blueberries and milk

lunch: chicken satay wrap

snack: carrot cake and skimmed milk

dinner: tomato risotto with baked fennel and tuna

snack: mushroom broth

exercise: 30 mins cardio at gym / day one of 30ds (50mins total)

xxxx

Hi hope you don't mind, but I've followed you over from CD 1000-maintenance forum :) I'm impressed with how well you've managed to step up from CD and your food looks really healthy. I think it's probably only natural that your stomach get a bit bigger after a meal - it's got to go somewhere until its 'processed' :). You sound like you're doing fine to me.

hiya Soel!!

thanks for following my journey and welcome!

how have you found cambridge?? where are you with it now?

not sure how much youve read of my diaries but i did cambridge for twelve weeks no cheats on ss, and went from 148 to 110 pounds. then i tried the steps...and completely failed. i felt like i was floundering without the structure...and calorie counting was very hard for me, it made me slil back into tendencies i had as a teenager to starve/binge (using most of my calories on chocolate) so for me, i decided to scrap the steps and move onto a simple healthy, filling, non refined and low glycemic index diet. patrick holfords diet is what i am doing at the moment, along with the thirty day shred and gym exercise. i would love to get to seven stone seven...but..for me I would just like a healthy and happy relationship with food wherein i can treat myself and not feel guilty, but also eat foods that are actually good for me! Phew! Xxxx

Hi LC :)

You've done so well - 38 lbs loss on a small frame is brilliant. You should be very proud of yourself :). Your low GI food seems like the perfect fit for you. Definitely don't go down calorie counting route if it triggers the binge/starve cycle for you hun. We're all different so go with what works for you :). I'm very impressed with your shredding, even reading it makes me tired, lol.

I feel like I've been going from feast to famine since first starting CD in 2009. I am ashamed to say I get to target, go on holiday, overeat at Christmas and then start the CD cycle again in January. It hasn't been quick or easy this time but I'm now 1 lb from goal, bmi 22 and going to step 3 1000 as of tomorrow. This is where my real hard work starts and I hope to take inspiration from you :)

Oh and by the way, your omelettes look GORGEOUS!!

Sorry for going on so much and best of luck with low GI - you can do it:) x

Thank u so much for your kind words hun they mean a lot. Please continue to follow along and let me know how you are getting on. Do u have a thread?

Well done for getting so close to goal with cwp! I know how tough it can be to break bad habits, believe me, it is nothing to be ashamed of, i used to do terrible things to my body with food as a weird form of self harm. But no more! We can do this!!!!

And remember...life is for living...holidays, christmas, we have to enjoy them - its just a case of trying to be healthy the rest of the time to make up for it! ;)

Good luck lovely, u know where i am for some mutual support should u need it :) xxxx

Thanks for such a lovely post, it does make a difference to know we're not alone in this battle, we can support each other through this :). I've started a maintenance diary over on 1000 to maintenance (stepping out of cambridge) - it'll be great to compare notes:). Have another great low GI day xx
