Lost 4lbs in a year!!!!!!!!

Mon normal day but Tues bday. So cake etc will occur. I already feel at least 2 stone heavier :sigh: than yesterday.

Good idea about the mmallows. I made them once before many, many, many moons ago and I think they were good but I might struggle with the portion control. Think I will give it a go as I've got some gelatine and loads of eggs.

The second recipe looks more promising. Must say I'm surprise that Splenda would work - I though you needed sugar for the syrupy consistency when cooking - but bonus if not. Flavouring it up sounds like a good idea ... dipping them in melted chocolate sounds an even better idea but must draw the line somewhere!

Hope you're feeling a bit lighter and more like your usual self tomorrow. You might have a bit of bloat after a heavy meal so bear that in mind for WI. Besides it being birthday week, you might just have to go a more CC route and go back to basics from Weds. Best of luck for tomorrow's WI.:)

It must be a water drop as I think it's impossible that it's real fat. We will see next week. It certainly wasn't what I was expecting! I certainly don't feel any thinner. Quite the opposite in fact. Distinctly plump!

It feels good to be back on plan though. Even if I might not be tomorrow.

The swimsuit came this morning and it's lush. Nicer than the picture and I will definately wear it if it ever fits my bust. Still waiting for the trampette. Boing, boing.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. Cheese etc for lunch, chocolates and cake. Another set of well wishers coming this evening, with yet another cake!!! Feel in need of emergency liposuction.:wave_cry:

Don't focus on your weight and think "fat thoughts". it's a day of celebration not of regret or stressing yourself out. You sound aware of what you've eaten- that's fine means you won't binge - which really you don't need to with SW as everything is allowed or can be fitted in. And you've had 1 2.5lb unexpected loss so a STS or even a gain this week will limit any major change to your weight.

Just enjoy and have fun with your many well-wishers ... here's hoping they bring gifts as well as good wishes! :D

Indian meal followed by tiramisu. So nice.

I've eaten SO much today. At first it was difficult but I soon got the hang of it

Course you have - it was your birthday! You'll probably almost relish getting back to normal tomorrow and just feeling back in charge. I find just getting that mentality back makes you feel better in yourself and then the eating follows. You got the moemories of your delicious meals and I bet that tiramisu was worth every calorie - spookily that's what I make too for my birthday barbeque - ah my once a year love affair!

Daughter made the tiramisu. I love it. She also makes a banoffee pie that should be illegal. She is starting another job on Thurs evening cooking in a cafe/ bistro and taking over the outside catering. Hope she doesn't bring her work home!

Oh the temptation!! I do badly on my own cake front - mother's day cake was a venetian zabaglione cake that had nearly a pint of marsala and a pint of cream in it! Delicious but I'd never survive if I got given yummy home-cooked food on a regular basis ... lock your doors and hide if she comes a-calling!

Do you have any successful ways of limiting treats? My lovely boss gave me a humoungous box of Thorntons on Monday and instead of "sharing" it at work and thereby eating less [cos I knew the gannets would eat all the good ones and leave me with the hard toffees] -I bought it home and have had at least 4 a day. That's better than my making a tin of Roses last 2 days pre-SW but it ain't brilliant. I suppose it's just not have it in the house? Or include it as syns and pray it aint a slippery slope down?

Tips

Firstly you could give them away and buy yourself a smaller box.

Secondly keep all choc and sweets out of sight. Somewhere you won't just happen across them. Not in the sitting room.

Thirdly the first sweet always tastes the best. You can have 4 first sweets if you space them out enough instead of one you taste and three you gobble mindlessly
.
Fourthly. Treat each sweet like a nouvelle cuisine dessert. Put it on a plate, take it through to the sitting room, sniff it, nibble it, eat it really slowly and savour every flavour and texture. Don't do anything else while eating it. Really enjoy it. If you are tempted to have another, notice that it doesn't taste as good and consider tip number three.

Tip number 3 sounds a winner. I have just now arranged them in the box according to chocolate type and realised I don't really like any of the flavours left so these are being kindly donated to my OH. :)

How's your today been? Back on track with food again? Also did you get any nice birthday presents!

Good to get back on the horse.

Not a great haul of presents, lots of flowers, hand creams, bath stuff etc, all a bit old ladyish actually. I am really difficult to buy for because I've pretty much got everything that I want.

Started the over 50's aquacise class at lunchtime. It was surprisingly busy. They seem like a friendly lot and I enjoyed it. So I now have 2 'official' exercise sessions per week. Swimming on a Monday and Aquacise on a Wednesday.

Babysitting tomorrow, Fri and Sat.

Glad you're back in the saddle :). That sounds like a pretty good stash. I always tend to get gifts that the giver likes rather than what I do ie gaudy blue purple and gold pretend Pandora bracelet when I only ever wear a thing gold bracelet and gold bangle - never varies and I have a base metal allergy ... ah well it is the thought that counts!

Aquasize sounds fun and sociable - makes it much more likely you'll stick with it. I'd like to do daytime exercise - I know I won't go of an evening - so would think about it in the summer hols maybe at the local leisure centre.

I'm thinking of taking up some sort of "stretchy" exercise. I have this mass area at the top of my left bumcheek/ which is both numb and painful. Doesn't hurt when I'm moving or bending but once sat on something soft like the sofa - extremely painful to get up from and am thinking I'll need to start sitting on a stool at home. Have had it for months but steadily getting worse. Not sure whether yoga/pilates or alexander technique would be more beneficial. I should maybe get it checked at the doctors first - I know it's really easy to make something like that worse.

Well all of them are great for you but a good teacher makes a big difference. I used to go to classes in all three when I was younger. I use a foam roller for my back which I find helps a lot with muscles that are 'stuck' and a sports therapist or physio might be able to help you. Best to get it checked out but it does sound like a muscle problem that needs stretching and massage.

I really liked the lunchtime class. Cold winter nights don't encourage me to venture out either and most of the classes mean quite a long drive which rules them out during the day, time wise.

I was naughty this morning and weighed myself. I was up 1lb which I was pleased with. Not just because of the food, ate well over 3,000 calories on Tuesday, but because of last weeks unexpected loss.

I'm going to do green days from tomorrow until tom arrives to see if it helps with those pre menstrual bread cravings. Littlest gsons 2nd birthday on the 24th, he's the one that's the trampoline expert. He is a bit of a danger baby as he seems to have been born with no fear. So that involves cake and kiddie food. I don't need to go overboard at that one. Friend is talking about the mezze night on the 5th of April. I said I'd go but have left it to her to book it. To be honest I wouldn't be unhappy if it's full and we have to wait until May.

I think you're right about being taught properly. I've tried Wii yoga and I find I get pain in limbs that were perfectly happy before I started contorting them. I'll do the docs appt - I'm feeling a bit broken with my ankle that I sprained about 2 yrs ago flaring up and my arthritis in my hand so walking about is as much as I can do at the mo.

Did I hear you say you were pleased to be UP 1lb  you strange thing you! Are you thinking you didn't deserve the weight loss and things are now back in equilibrium? The body sometimes does the unexpected - for me it was when I tried the hardest that I went up 2lb so up or down it will level off where it sees fit.

Going green's a good idea gives you freedom to get the carbs in. For me it's just hunger really and sweet cravings.

Are you hoping to put off Mezze night until you're down a little bit or stretch out all the social events this month so you can feel more on track? I get a bit like that I've got a meet-up with my old colleagues and am hoping it's next month rather than this - a. so that I can be thinner and b. I just want a few solid weeks of being on-track without social things messing up my food plans. You know I never realised how much socialising has to involve food. I can't think of the last fun thing out I did that didn't enjoy eating!

Enjoy you g'son's birthday - he sounds like a little livewire! The 24th is also my OH's birthday so I shall be joining you on the cake front :)
