Lost & Found... Map Gone AWOL!

I think you're very hard on yourself hun. You do really well but yes maybe you do need that extra fuel from the higher plans. I think when you've already worked up the plans it's hard to go back down again. Doable but hard. Keep thinking about how far you've come Hun.

Good luck xxx

Stubborn - hmmm maybe? ;) Determined though, absolutely!

You will still lose weight on a higher plan Katy so don't think you are going to stop losing weight. It's just going to take a bit longer than the super losses we got used to on SS+/810. Some people have done well counting calories, some people are using WW. Whatever you decide to do, you just need to find what is right for you. Don't lose the faith you can do this, because we sure know you can do it.

It may help if you look into some CBT stuff as well? x

Katy, here's to a new week and a new month - hope it's a happy & healthy one for us all. :)

Eating at a higher level has other advantages as well...you get used to eating good wholesome food. In some ways the longer it takes the better...as it hopefully means you won't have to ever do this again.

Lol Laura... it is likely to be snow-covered! Yesterday had a long day up in Edinburgh for work... an hours drive to station thru frosty landscape with snow-covered mountains in mid-distance, pink & yellow in the sunrise... then trains. Then work. The more trains, & another hours drive home in the dark thru blizzards! I have to go to the station-town again today, also for work, so fear the roads will be snowy & slippy. Sigh. Fed up now with the snow!

I know you didn't mean 'real' roads... yesterday was a good day for food, a CD shake and then a bean wrap and a choc bar to keep me alert on drive home, & because I am so, so PMT-ish. At home, rye bread and peanut butter & half a banana. Felt OK, even the choc bar. (Not family sized...)

So... hope the 'road' stays smooth today...

Smooth and snow free would be nice huh? I have a friend in Scotland who doesn't want a white Easter.

Hon - are you scared about eating more ie three meals a day? I realise it may have been hard yesterday with all the work and a long day but hopefully now your work is almost over (???) Katy will be able to concentrate on Katy.

Btw, have you read Eating Less? It really is a great book.

Btw part two, do you read back through your diary? I know there's been times you've felt better. Go back and read what you were doing then re food and see if that helps.

Hope you have the bestest day ever :) xx

Thanks Laura... it was three meals, if you include the choc shake as brekky. And there was a skinny latte in there too, I forgot. I think the cals would be well up at 1200 is you included the choc bar, the bean wrap & the rye bread & peanut butter... and it did feel fine. A bit out of kilter, as such a long day, but that's fine. Scales today say 11 5, which is the lowest they have been since Xmas anyway, so that takes away the fear a little. And last night once home I thought I'd have a shake and chose instead to eat the rye bread... so maybe that is progress.

Work-wise, it actually gets crazier form here on in... my work varies from quiet, stay-at-home, stressful due to missed deadlines, to away-from-home, on the go, long days, stressful but in a different way... from sat I will be away for a week in china, working, then more time away to follow but in the UK... in a way, though often frantic, the away-times are less likely to see me binge, although the temptation of business meals & how to negotiate them is always a factor.

Anyway, am glad to have a change of pace now and a break from the banging-my-head against the keyboard phase of work!

Have read Eating less but think I passed it on to a minis friend last year? Stupid... should have known that's not a book you can read and let go of, not when you are me. I will check out the reading again. Also going to look at low-GI books Bess has been using, as I am not great at the cal counting thing in spite of PDT, am just a number-phobe alas. I would like to be more relaxed about food, in the middle, rather than swinging from ultra-uptight to eat-all-you-can-see.

Thanks for your thoughts, Laura, and Bess, Dis, & everyone else too... I am doing the best I can to take them on board, after a long period of plodding along with hands over my ears.

It's great you chose to have the rye instead of a shake. Yay :) I see what you mean about the shake now but really 140 calories isn't much for breakfast, if you see what I mean and 1200 calories of higher fat/carbs won't make you feel as good as 1200 calories of three balanced meals (but you know that) and yesterday was definitely a better day for you. Just had to state the obvious ;)

I couldn't live on the volume of 1200 calories now, even though I'm not very active at the moment. I saw that show super skinny vs super fat or whatever it is called the other day and the really skinny girls were eating around 1200/1300 calories a day. That really spoke volumes for me.

Maybe in some ways China will be a good break for you then and a chance to get back into normalish eating? I know it's harder in some ways with restaurant meals but at least it's a different environment. Didn't you lose weight last time you went away anyhow?

Anyhow, cal counting definitely isn't for everyone. I love it because I love numbers, and graphs. It's really important you find a way that works for you and then maybe you can make some meals up and freeze them during your 'quieter times' so you can just heat them up when work in frantic. I'm sure there's a GI support forum somewhere on here too.

Right better go and see some customers.

China? Wow! How exciting!! Lucky you! Can't wait to hear all about it, I'm a real traveller by proxy! :D

Great about the food too and the drive to the station sounds divine - apart from the ice and snow. :) xx

Katy, sounds like you are doing fine. Hope your journey and work went well today. :)
Good luck for the trip to China.

Hey Katy! :) Weather sounds cold up there! Are you sick of the snow yet? Always looks lovely, but a pain when it comes to travel.

Your food sounds lovely - I am a massive fan of rye bread with peanut butter (I put a bit of maple syrup on mine then in microwave for 1 minute, then peanut butter....mmm)

Good on you for being at lowest since Xmas as well, as we all know how hard Xmas weight can be to shift. Take care xxx

Smooth and snow free would be nice huh? I have a friend in Scotland who doesn't want a white Easter.

Laura, l agree with your friend. Snow is nice, for a little while! We're going away at Easter, still staying in Scotland, the area we are staying looks very picturesque in the snow, but l'd prefer a bit of nice spring weather.
We've got a light covering of snow here in Ayrshire today, it's really cold & the pavements are slippery, it's easier to walk on them when the snow is deeper.

Hi all... yesterdays travel & work went fine Dis, met some really fab kids.

Discovered a great new diet plan: eat meals in morrisons cafe. Waited half an hour for a baked spud with beans & when it came the spud was scalding hot & hard as rock, so inedible, and there was only a teaspoonful of beans, half of which fell on the table when the kitchen assistant slammed it down... and the salad was slimy & smelt musty... didn't even dare complain, the staff were very fierce!

Still, I had a latte, and that was fine... and ate when I got home instead. Funny how you can look forward to something like a baked spud and then wonder why! Scales still at 11 5 today so all is well.

Now have three days to get set for China... eek. So much to arrange and pack and print out... fancy a walk today, not much snow left here so should be possible. Day looks clear and we had a lovely sunrise... have been awake for ages, thinking of work-ideas, so may get some stuff down on the laptop in a minute to get a ahead a tiny bit for when I'm back from China.

Have a fab day all... am around today and hopefully checking in more!

Ooh China sounds exciting...I want to change job! Keep at it Katy, you will find your own balance eventually, which you are happy with. You seem to be doing pretty good to me....Lowest since Xmas, not to be sniffed at! Our local Morrisons is similar, the food is cooked properly but it is often the wrong order or cod by the time they find your table! A new diet trend emerging xx

China, how marvelous, lucky you! Even though it is work what an experience, have you been before? Sounds like you are keeping well, which I like to see xx

No, have never been before... exciting and scary!
