For free gravy you can use a stock cube or stock pot, dissolved in water and thickened with instant mashed potato. Tastes better than you'd think!! Or fry some onions slowly and add them to a stock cube and water then blitz in a liquidiser or with one of those stick blenders.
thank you both, I made some today and it was lovely.. not quite as nice as my usual gravy made with meat juices wine and bisto, but hey it was guilt free!
As it seemed (and was) a bit of a faff, I made a batch, so have some now waiting to go in the freezer.
So only having to syn my Yorkshire pudding I am more than happy!
