Loz's weight loss diary

Welcome back Loz. I'm like you - I don't find specific goals always work, but rather recognising trends. Well done on the loses so far.

Thanks Torn_Tranquility.

I tend to feel as though specific goals make me focus too much on them and then I get disheartened if I don't achieve them and think 'what's the point' and get derailed.

The weekend's not going too badly. Had a little walk around town yesterday then kept busy around the house. Food-wise it wasn't too bad but I did have a large glass of wine yesterday evening (damson wine, so tasty). Today should be better, we've got stir fry for dinner and I'll probably do mushrooms on toast for lunch. No wine today. I've got jobs that I need to finish around the house and try and do a little in the garden whilst the weather remains dry.

I'll come up with the weeks meal plan (my versions tend to be healthier than his) and I think he's going to go to the supermarket. He's got a terrible sweet tooth so will probably come back with some chocolate or something. I'm getting very good at resisting though, chocolate can now stay in the house for weeks. When I do the lunchboxes, I tend to give him some and not me. I do feel that now I've lost all this weight, I don't want to scupper things up by eating chocolate, cakes etc. It's amazing the change I've had, going from someone who could eat whole big bars of chocolate in one sitting to having part bars open in the house for weeks.

I only noticed recently how much better I feel. I know I mentioned my blood pressure improving (it had been rather quite high but I ignored it) to a much more acceptable level. I also feel fitter. I realise now that going upstairs at work (2 flights), I could do it without stopping but I would get short of breath. Now I do it with ease with no breathlessness whatsoever. Hills are getting easier too. Admittedly, they'll still not fun, but I feel less like I'm going to die walking up them now!

I've also ordered a pair of jeans in a smaller s8ze. Clothes are getting hig on me now and I'm starting to fit into clothes I've not worn for years. It's a great feeling!

I've had a good couple of days diet-wise. I've eaten quite healthily the last couple of days. I had a couple of onion ring crisps at work yesterday and two mini rolls after dinner (oops) but that's not too bad - there were loads of snacks in work yesterday and I didn't eat any others. Today I've had no unhealthy snacks, even though there was quite a bit left from yesterday at work. I had a banana mid evening after doing some exercise and I'll have dinner soo . Dinner last night was very healthy - stuffed mushrooms with one piece of bacon each (fat cut off, I like the bacon fat but he doesn't and I didn't know who would get which bit), a shallot and a little bit of cheese with a salad. Tonight's will be less healthy - bacon baps, the eggs are out of date but if they seem OK, I might add an egg to mine (I really like eggs now, I used to hate the things but I think I could eat them for every meal these days).

Good to see your updates, @Loz1986. I eat a lot of eggs now, too!
