For those of you who may be interested or want to learn how to make your way around MiniMins this is how I get around...

MiniMins has moved the site onto new software called XenForo and it is a little different from the old site so I am going to do my best now to update my old post here and as I learn more about the new software I will continue to update this post and of course if anyone would like to add to it please post below with corrections or changes needed as all help is greatly appreciated.

With this new modern forum software it is pretty clever as it automatically adapts to the device that you are using i.e., such as a mobile, tablet and desktop without the need for the cumbersome third party apps. If you are on a mobile phone rotate it to landscape and you will be able to see thread views and signatures, put it normal way up and they disappear.:)

Click on MiniMins.com at the top left of the page and it will always bring you to the front page with all the names of the forums for you to explore.

When you are a newbie

You are in a group with limited signature space, and you cannot upload images to the gallery. Gallery and some private forums need 50 posts...it will say at the top of the forum how many posts are need and if not please ask.

You can now add an Avatar and access your own profile but you will still need 50 posts for our members profiles.

Private Messaging is gone and old pm accounts did not make the transition. On XenForo they are called Conversations and we will not be enabling them on here.

(Members can post weight loss ticker link into your signature on joining.)You now need 5 posts.

You need the bb code here for ticker and graphics to work here on MiniMins.

(Or use Forum Jump which is now called 'Most Popular Diets' on the top left of the blue tool bar on top of the page. Click on it and a box will drop down with all the names of the forum and you can click into anyone of them and your there.) Forum Jump is now gone:(

When you click on a forum name for instance like "Cambridge Diet Forum" it opens up and you will see all the threads that are in that particular forum plus it's sub forums. Once in a forum if you look at the top of the page you should see one button...it says... Post New Thread
and the other
Cambridge Diet Forum...click the new thread button to start your new thread. If you are reading a thread say for example the July Challenge thread and you wanted to join in you will find a button on the bottom of the thread called reply to thread
+ Reply to Thread...if you click on this you can post on this thread.

***Look up on the Blue Tool Bar at the top of the page and you will see 'New Posts' Click on this and all the latest new posts as they happen are here:)***

(Also some members might be use to looking at the more familiar Summary Page, which you can have by clicking on Summary on the *Blue Tool Bar at the top of the page.*) On the right on desk top and on the bottom on mobile devices you will see a couple of the latest threads

'Settings' is also where you go to add your weight tracker into your signature.) This has now changed... Now you click on your username on the top right side on the blue bar and you will get this information on your own personal Private Profile Page.

If you click on a member's name you will get limited information before you have 50 posts and after that you gain access and will be able to post on their Public Profile Page. To gain access to your own Public Profile Page click on your Avatar or on your username below it.

We ask New and Old Members to respect the following rules...

MiniMins has a zero tolerance to spam and to keep our forums free from spam...no advertising, no trading, swapping, selling or soliciting is allowed all spammers are automatically banned.

Absolutely no canvasing for members for Facebook Groups or any other website weight-loss forums or groups on the Internet as this is considered spam.

We provide Social Network Icon Buttons for your personal use and if members wish to follow you they can click on your Social Network Icon Button.

Social Network Icon Buttons can be found by clicking on a profile and for your own look on the top right side on the Blue Bar, click on your username and you can add them under "Contact Details". New icon buttons have been added and sites like Instagram, Pinterest etc., have been integrated so that members here on MiniMins can follow you and share photos etc.

You can ask for followers if it is on your own diary thread as long as it is not for other groups or website forums that are in competition with MiniMins as this is considered spam and will be deleted.

If a member displays their social icon button in their profile that would be an indication they are open to receiving contact and vise versa.

Links to personal blogs off site are allowed once you have done 50 posts. You can then add your blog link to your signature. Blogs links which land on a page requesting our members to sign up or solicit emails will be considered spam and deleted.

Also Not Allowed: Posts with personal blog link soliciting members to visit their blog will be removed and repeat offenders will be banned as this is consider spam! However you can post links on your own personal diary.

Banned: Commercial website, auctions/eshop, forums, referral or affiliate links, third party weight loss resources and everything else not mentioned in the allowed...unless approved by the forum admin.

Charity Links are allowed in Signature and in your own diary.

If you personally are fund raising i.e taking part in a charity event to raise money for your chosen charity by running, walking, cycling, mountain climbing etc then you are welcome to post a link in your signature to promote your personal challenge. You are welcome to add a small blurb to say what your challenge is for...

*Links to your charity which appear in posts other than your own personal diary or on a Team Challenge Thread will be removed!

*Threads and posts asking for sponsorship will be removed.

Please do not post 3rd party links to websites soliciting our members to click, register or sign up to emails, letters, websites either on the public forum.

We urge our members to practice safe Internet browsing by not divulging personal information over the Internet. Please stay safe!

If you are not sure about a link please ask by using the contact button at the bottom of the page.

Please note MiniMins is not responsible for the content of 3rd party links to other sites.

The Administration of MiniMins reserves the right to remove all links without prior notification or discussion.

Some of the new features of the updates...

Picture Galleries:p
Members can now create profile albums and upload pictures to their account. The new features will resize your photos. The ability to view these albums and photos can be limited by the user to people on their buddy list if they want privacy.

You will find the controls in your user profile...This has changed?

This new album makes the whole process of adding pictures very easy.

Once you have the photos on your computer you click upload in your album and then browse and find the photos you wish to add to your new album.

There is also the public Gallery where you can upload photos to your own album and are viewable by all members who have 5 posts.

Public and Personal albums are now on the Blue Bar under Photos.
Personal Profile albums are gone and did not make the transition over:(

Many of the main diet forums have sub forums for diaries.

Members only diaries are viewable only by members, they can not be googled.

Members Only diaries requires 50 posts...Silver members diaries requires 500...Gold members diaries require 1,500 posts to gain access.

Private forums are only viewable by members and are not googled.

(You can access Blogs either on the Blue Bar at the top of the page or in your own profile.

The number of entries you make to your own Blog Will show under your Avatar.

You can make your blog private or public.

Your can invite your friends to view it if you have it private.

If public all members and non members can view it then it can be googled.) Blogs from the old site did not make it over...sorry:(
