Moosh's S&S diary

good idea of what you arent doing, i love that, (might nick it)

even when you go over its with good stuff, so in the scheme of things its just a blip isnt it, love your diary moosh x

I used to get Look magazine every month, when I was a teen. I'd look through it, all the nice clothes and accesories and makeup reviews. I used to get the makeup, and cut the cut pages out of the mag to take to New Look or Topshop and get the bags they recommended. I'd look at the clothes, and try to find similar things but I was in size 18 at age 14, and kept increasing. Was always a dream, to get into 'fashion'.

Not so keen on that anymore, just want to be able to shop in mainstream rather than specialist shops. My past week, going in M&S and various supermarkets has just shown me I'm not there yet. I'm in the middle land, between Evans (which just seems to size enormously, at least in the crap I get) and regular shops.

I don't want to be a fashion miss, I just want to go on my annual trip with my sisters up to Plymouth and be able to go in Topshop, River Island, Next, and not feel like a whale cruising the aisles. I don't browse, why would I? Never ever found anything that woud fit me! I have more luck in DP but still never bought anything.

I need to get my sodding head in gear. I went and browsed the glossies and got one called Glamerous, as it looked like it would fit the bill of something to aspire to yet met my penny-pinching- £2, so the cheapest, with a free hairmask product that I'd spend a quid on! All good.

When I paid in WHSmith they gave me a voucher, as they always do. 25% off next purchase! So I went and peeked at the books, found one called curb the craving which may do nicely, £10 so only £7.50 with voucher. But I looked insde and it was a religious one, all about god loving me. No thanks, I want diet advice and support not religious!

So will go to the bigger one in the next town tomorrow, I already have plans to meet my friend for a meal (eek, that would usually be a big meal like a curry or ham egg and chips, then a huge slice of choc cake with icecream). Then I'll walk to town and have a look for motivation! I'm going to get a carb counter too, just to look through and get a general idea. Plus I think if I am bingy in the evening, I can make more informed decisions and hopefully the act of looking up carbs etc content will put me off! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Calorie-Car...2100/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330690362&sr=8-1 looks very interesting as it is UK, up to date, and has the lists of all the different things like carbs, fat, cals etc all together. Hmm, actually I'll just order that!

Just keep trying and youll get there. By the sounds of it youve changed already from the old you

Hi moosh you are doing so well an just knowing that your 'blips' aren't half as bad as they used to be is such a big step. Well done!!

Thanks but those I listed weren't blips- that was my daily diet for the past few years. Being on this has put it in perspective, 100g extra tuna won't kill me but it feels bad.

Haha oh yeah I got that, it's just I guess from reading that that now when you say you've buggered it all up you probably haven't at all in the scheme of things!

Holy crapspackle, why oh why oh why..... do some evenings mean craving food, doing my best not to eat and then give in..... but some are just blah blah, wait till 9 for shake, enjoy it, carry on.

Today was fab- vanilla mush, can coke zero, 200g salad with 100g chicken, lots of water, BL bar, lots of coke zero to keep me going! then at 9 more vanilla mush.

Yesterday by this point I had had double that! Insane! Today for some reason I'm fine, thinking of going bed with my diet book.

Early start tomorrow, well early for a saturday!- table top sale at the local primary, love them, I always find either books or some bits and bobs to put away as gifts! Then off to town to meet best mate, have a natter and put the world to rights. She's a nanny too, different kind but still only a nanny can truly understand the job we do! I'll be having, as planned, a chicken ceasar with no croutons, cheese and dressing on the side (I may have some of that, big old treat!) and plenty of water. NO SODDING CAKE! Shame shame as it is so lovely, Wetherspoons do a lovely choc cake with thick icing and icecream....... Now lets see, the cake has, per portion-

740 cals- thats 37% of GDA!
85g carbs- again, 37%
41.1g fat- 59% of daily allowance!!!!! Holy crap!
20.8g sat fat- 104% of daily recomendation! ! !
0.8g salt- 13% of GDA!!!!

AND I WONDER WHY I'M FAT! Actually no I don't, I bloody know I'm a pig but looking that up Quality Food, Great Value | Food Menu | J D Wetherspoon has disgusted me. Never again. Oh my god I feel a bit sick!

So........ salad it is! I can't see anything else on the menu that would fit with S&S, I know the side salad is chopped really small and includes tomatoes so no point getting that. Besides I'm quite enjoying doing 3 packs with protein.

I'm then off to a different town to get some stuff. I had a long mental list but now I come to write it, I can't remember what I need. Anyone know? Points if you get it right!

I'm fantasy shopping right now on ebay, I don't know what size I will feel happy at so no point buying yet but there are sooo many dresses I want! DEAD THREADS BLACK SKULL CROSS GOTH EMO MINI DRESS | eBay Sigh I'll never have anything like that, I have too much... arms.... yuck. Girl can dream though!

Oh I was going to say, I've only been here like 2 months and I already did over 1000 posts! You people are the reason I've stuck to this, you really are. Thanks for all the support!

Ordered 3 new books today- The Calorie, Carb & Fat Bible 2012: The UK's Most Comprehensive Calorie Counter: Amazon.co.uk: Juliette Kellow, Lyndel Costain, Laurence Beeken: 9781904512103: Books, Collins Gem - Carb Counter: A Clear Guide to Carbohydrates in Everyday Foods: Amazon.co.uk: Harper Collins (UK): Books and Why We Get Fat: And What to Do about It: Amazon.co.uk: Gary Taubes: Books. Motivation! The counters are more for maintenance, the other is to keep my head in this. Woop.

Tomorrow is WI, I know I'll be lucky to STS this week but ho hum, grand scheme of things- I'm still almost 3st lighter than I was on 8th December 2011 (official start date!). Thats gotta be good!

Woah- just looking at my stats there and one more lb down and I'm half way to goal! Admittedly my goal is arbitrary, I just picked a number in the middle of my healthy BMI, I may be happier a stone heavier or lighter! Can't wait to find that out :D

I've just finished your diary and you're doing really well. Hope you get into 11s soon. Good luck with WI xx

By the Lords of Kobol, I actually have a wee loss this week. 2lb, so technically STS since I weighed on thurs but still 2lb down from last sat! Huge sigh of relief, ok not in the 11s just yet but far far better than an upwards turn! All my tickers and stats are up to date as I recordeded it all on thurs.

Mush for breakie, bar in my bag for when I meet friend just in case.

Oh and I'm sitting here..... in size 14 jeans :D :D :D :D :D :D how bloody random, I know I'm not properly a 14 as my M&S ones are my official benchmark, and I can't even get the 14s up! I'm in my Matalan ones. But they fit! Woop! And in an 18 top, well ok it is the only top I own less than a 22 but still it seems to fit even though its a summer one!

Oh I'm not putting myself down, I just don't want to become complacent. My official marker for size is M&S jeans, if I counted any brand... well you know how they differ! Right now I can say I'm a 14-16. When I'm wearing my M&S 14s I'll be a 14!

Well done Moosh!

Keep it up, I had 2lbs this week too, quite happy considering it's TOTM and I had an off plan meal the other night.

xx

I could never get Evans jeans in my length! I can't even go in there any more- the two closest to me have closed down!
