Mrs A's Diary

just made a wee pot of lentil soup and it is so tasty - wonder if i could get away with eating the whole pot ;)

1/4 packet of lentils
2 large onions
3 carrots
1/2 leek
(all chopped)
1 ham stock cube
1 veg cube
sprinkle of dried parsley

it was ready in no time :D

red lentils do you know i couldn't describe them ....they make the soup go all thick - i mash mine down with a tattie masher - some folks put it in a blender if they like finer.

it's supposed to be made with a smoked ham shank but i just used cubes to make the fat content nil.

they are only cheap - buy some and try it - it's not a strong taste - just nice and warming and healthy :D

buy a tin of lentil soup and try it - easy option ;)

thanks for the good wishes girlies :)

dad (97 in May) fell on monday night and damaged his hip. Poor wee darling took an hour crawling to get to the phone for help
he refuses to put his care call button on :sigh:

the good news is that he had an epidural on Tuesday morning and had a plate and screw ?? inserted.
was a bit wandered yesterday - i think it was the pain.
phoned this morning to be told he had a restful night and that he was sitting up on a chair :eek:
Isn't it just amazing what can be done nowadays :D:D
he will be demanding his clothes next. ;)
love him to bits and am so happy that he is on the mend.

ps have still not eaten anything bad but haven't had a square meal for ages xx

today i felt my poor hubby hadnt had a proper meal all week so made a lovely casserole with pork and loads of veg.

it was really nice and i had some of the pork steaks but filled my plate with loads of steamed veg.

felt good about making it but i have been starving all night and how i managed not to stuff my face i dont know.

weigh in tomorrow but doubt if i have lost anything this week - have kept to the fat levels but not the calories :sigh:

i'm not too bothered really ... there's always next week to make up for it by trying a bit harder.

hope everyone is having a good week cos not had much time to look around. xx

lost 1 kilo this week - really pleased.:D
the pork casserole obviously had too much fat for me cos i had an awful sore tum and loads of wind

bought some WW Meals yesterday so that should help.

finding it difficult to get my head round making tasty meals for my hubby and something different for me.

i know he and i can eat chicken meals together but not every night :sigh:

i am going to sit down and write a week's menus and see if that helps.

hope everyone is winning the battle :grouphugg:
