NannyDoreen & Upndown's daily diaries

Thanks Linda. Not had jelly for a long time and putting frozen fruit into jelly in little pots in sets much quicker.

Yes day turned out good and nothing that will hang about, just emotions. xxxx

Good idea with the frozen fruit, mine is fresh but I won't be eating it tonight anyway, so not a problem. If I remember (that's a big if, I have a terrible memory!) I'll put a vanilla mullerlight in the freezer for a while and kid myself I'm indulging in an icecream sundae hehe.
Glad you're ok lovely, sometimes our emotions get the better of us, I know. Hugs xxx

Ooh, yes please! Another brownie recipe is always good! :) Good luck with your next restart then, Linda. Just wish someone would invent totally yummy food, that is completely good for you! Wouldn't that be great? No more Synning, calorie counting, over-thinking what to eat. Just dive in to delicious food whenever you like. Ah, well. We can always dream! :) xx

Yes a lovely thought and a dream world I'd like to visit!xx

Hope it keeps u full for a while! Sounds lovely and all on plan to me - ooh off for my late lunch now .....xx

TMI but passed wind and felt better lol had ham salad sandwich for tea :)

Both recipes would be lovely thank you - in your own time Linda

My scan bran cakes are not good.

I'm going to try again with them - I'm going to ask at SW and anyone I see here making then successfully! SW chips are another thing I struggle with - so will try again!xx

Ooohhh lemon cous cous cake sound delish 

It is and easy to make plus it keeps for a while in the fridge - I can post that one too if anyone wants it - that'll be 3 to do! xx

I buy brisket from my local farm shop, Doreen. When I first went I presumed it would be horrifically expensive but now I go every week. The food is locally sourced (the butcher know the farmer's names) and far superior to any supermarket meat. It is always really tasty and the butcher gives great advice, when needed and will cut the meats exactly as you want them. As for price, I was pleasantly surprised! It works out the same as in the supermarket and, sometimes, even cheaper! He is totally honest too.

One week when I asked for braising steak for the slow cooker, he told me, as it was for the slow cooker, the stewing steak was much better, as it doesn't disintegrate like the braising steak can do when cooked in that way. He actually pulled two bits of the different steaks apart, to show me the muscle structure in them! The stewing steak was quite a lot cheaper than the braising steak so he was doing himself out of making more money but he obviously values his customers. He also looks for the leanest cuts of braising steak to make into extra lean mince for me. When I cook it, no water and barely any fat come off any of his meats.

I would never revert back to buying supermarket meat now.

Sorry about the long post but think the farm shops are well worth checking out before we dismiss them as being much too expensive.

Hope you've had a good day, Doreen. xx

Interesting Kathy - thanks for that - I don't think we have a farm shop that sells meat locally unfortunately - but we have a local butcher in a small village who's good and reasonable - supermarket-like prices - hubby likes to go early on a Saturday morning - often before I get up! xx

I got mine from butchers and its a lot better xx

Thanks for that Kathy. Don`t know if we have a farm shop near here, but will certainly make enquiries. I know we have a butcher in town who everybody says is really good. Will check there too. I actually do buy stewing steak for slow cooker as somebody mentioned to me some time ago that it is better.

I am out tomorrow after dentist to pick up some bits so will shop around.

Day started out not good for emotional reasons, but have been out for coffee with a friend and feel good now. Have posted food already I am that confident.
Well, I counted the whole jelly in case I want some later. :)

Good luck at the dentist. Glad the day ended well emotionally and food wise - hope u have a restful night xx

Well what a day I've had food wise - see what you think! Got up late then was busy - so didn't eat until after lunch time!!

late brunch: banana, bread roll and 2 cookie biscuits

dinner: didn't fancy the roast I'd prepared so had a ham sandwich, cheese and crackers plus 2 more cookie biscuits and a banana

Ridiculous - just as well I'm going to SW on Tuesday - feel bloated - so goodness knows what my London gain is going to be now - will try again 2moro - will be busy so think it shd be ok plus I'll be weighing in at SW Tues

One good thing - I did an exercise workout for 30 mins this morning - but needed to be a 30 hour one to burn off all those calories!

Well it wasn't exactly on plan but could have been worse, it wasn't totally out of control. I think when we have a date in our heads it can often put us off... you know you're starting again on Tuesday at group, so subconsciously thinking, quick, have what I want now.
It's daft... but we've all done it. Try not to go too overboard today as it only means a higher starting point.
Good luck xx

1. It cd have been worse!
2. I do feel I'm in no-man's land whilst waiting for SW class!
3. I want the lowest starting poss!

Daft I know - but me all over! Will try my very best today! xx

I plan on doing that from now on in. its great to have this to be able to bounce ideas off of people and people to give us a kick in the rear when needed:rolleyes: I don't have all the answers either, I maybe sometimes think I do, but I no I don't;) haha. x

Welcome, Leslay! Good to have you with us! :) Think we all need a kick in the rear from time to time. :S

Loving the graphics, Linda! :) Was going to ask how you get them on but, knowing my capacity for technology, I won't bother! Hope you've had a good day and hope re-joining SW goes well tomorrow. xx
