Nat's Food Diary - Week 1

I'm in my second week of SW since leaving WW. I stayed the same at my first SW weigh-in so I thought I would post my food diary to make sure I'm doing this correctly. Please feel free to comment! I am definitely enjoying this way of eating, I'm just having a little trouble believing how I can eat so much and still lose weight! I was told that I could have up to 105 syns per week any way I wanted (average 15 per day) so this is what I've done.

OK, here goes....

Week 1

Green Day (Thursday)

2x Weetabix (HE B), 350ml skimmed (HE A)
Banana
Fresh Fruit Salad and Fat free yoghurt
Jacket Potato, Beans, 28g cheddar (HE A)
Boiled Egg
Quorn Sausage X 2 and 3 x Weight Watchers brown bread (HE B)
Oven cooked potato made into wedges with cajun spices
Peas
Freddo Frog - 4 syns
Cereal Bar - 4.5 syns
Cherry Ripe treat size - 4 syns
50ml Tropicana (in fruit salad) - 1 syn

Total syns = 14.5

Extra Easy Day (Friday)

42g All Bran (HE B)
Grapes and pineapple
Cauliflower, brocolli and pearl barley soup made with chicken stock
Fat free yoghurt and fresh fruit salad
Apple
Fat free yoghurt
Roast beef with brocolli, cauli, potatoes and peas
350ml skimmed milk (HE A)

Cherry Ripe treat size - 4 syns
2 tsp gravy granules - 1 syn
1 tsp sunflower oil - 2 syns
Walkers Baked crisps - 5 syns
Alpen Light Bar - 3 syns
1 x Yorkshire Pudding - 3 syns

Total = 18 syns

Beef with Mushrooms (from chinese) - 4.5 syns
Chicken with cashew nuts (from chinese) - 8.5 syns

Total syns = 15.5

Jacket Potato with Beans and 28g cheddar (HE A)
2 x quorn sausages, potato made into wedges, baked beans, mushy peas, 3 x WW bread (HE B)

8 x Scan Bran ferrero rocher - 8 syns
Mustard - 0.5 syns
Ketchup - 0.5 syns

Total syns = 9

Mix 2 Max Day (Monday)

Neutral Breakfast: 28g porridge oats X 2 (X 2 HE B) and 250 ml semi skimmed milk (HE A) and 2tsp honey (2 syns)

Fresh fruit salad with 50ml tropicana (1 syn) and fat free yoghurt

350ml skimmed (HE A)
5 x scan bran ferrero rocher (5 syns)
1 x WW lamington (3.5 syns)

Green Lunch: Jacket Potato with Beans, boiled egg

Original Tea: Meditteranean chicken hot pot (SW recipe) with 28g parsnip (1 syn)

Total syns = 13

42g All Bran (HE B) and 350ml skimmed (HE A)
Boiled egg, grapes and pineapple
Jacket potato with beans and 28g cheddar X 2 (HE A and HE B) and added cheese (6 syns)
Slimming World egg fried rice with prawns (5 syns)
Fresh fruit salad with 50ml Tropicana (1 syn), fat free yoghurt and honey (1 syn)

Total syns = 13

Red Day (Wednesday)

42g All Bran (HE B) and 350ml skimmed (HE A)
227g jacket potato (HE B), tuna, 28g cheddar (HE A), boiled egg
Fresh fruit salad with 50ml tropicana (1 syn) and fat free yoghurt
Beef and black bean sauce (chinese) - 5 syns
Chicken and cashew nuts (chinese) - 8.5 syns
Walkers Baked crisps - 5 syns

Total syns = 19.5

Egg Fried Rice - 5 syns on Green, 1 on EE

3 eggs
pinch of salt
2 tsp oil
113g / 4oz cooked, peeled prawns
113g / 4oz cooked, skinned chicken, diced
57g / 2oz cooked peas
4 spring onions, chopped
2 tbsp soy sauce
340g / 12oz cold boiled rice
salt and freshly ground black pepper

1. Beat the eggs and salt in a bowl. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a wok or a deep frying pan and add the beaten eggs. Stir over gentle heat until the eggs scramble and set. Remove the scrambled eggs and set aside.
2. Heat the remaining oil in a clean wok or frying pan and add the prawns, chicken, peas and spring onions. Stir-fry for 1 minute and then stir in the soy sauce.
3. Continue stir-frying for 2 minutes, then add the cooked rice and scrambled eggs. Stir constantly over a gentle heat and until the rice is heated through. Season to taste with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.

I left out the chicken and just had prawns so it was lower in syns but it was really yummy!

Thanks Mrs. V. Not had any luck losing so far - STS first week and gained half a pound second week. Might have something to do with having had chinese twice and not weighing the portions, therefore underestimating syns. I'm going to forget takeaways this week and see where it gets me!
