Net calories

I have been doing CC for 2 weeks now and i am using MFP, although im not quite sure what net calories are and what they mean and if i should be taking notice of them.
i know i may sound dumb asking this but any help would be gladly appreciated.

Net calories are the difference between those you eat and those you earn through exercise. Ie if you eat 1500 calories and burn off 300 at the gym then net calories are 1200. Hope this helps

That does help Thankyou. So should I be taking more notice of my net calories ?

If you read some of the threads on here then the consensus seems to be that you should have at least 1200 net calories or your body will go into starvation mode and will start to hold onto fat.

There are mixed views though and it seems to vary whether people do eat back their exercise calories or not.

To be honest i dont like to eat back my calories at all. Especially when usually i excersize after my tea and am full anywayyy.
