Thank you, it will be a year on jan 06, it was my new years resolution last yr, time has gone really quickly, only tip I can give u is never give up, even if u have a bad day or week just brush urself off, this time last yr I was a size 22-24 if some-one had said to me I would b a size 10-12 this Christmas I would have laughed my head off, but I am & it feels great to feel normal for a change, I found doing the little challenges on here really kept me motivated as well (thanks Carly) & setting small goals is more realistic than the end result, I always break up my weight so in a month I give myself personal goals ie 7lbs is what I used to aim to lose a month now it is starting to slow slightly so I have re-adjusted it to 4lbs a month, the best tip is to get out of the diet mind set it is a lifestyle change, I still have foods I shouldn't eat occasionally as a treat now where as before we were eating rubbish a couple of times a wk, as a general rule I don't have rubbish in the house now if it's not there it can't b eaten, I always have nibbles to hand, like fruit or mini meringue nest crushed over some fruit with ww yogurt is a really yummy treat.

Anyway I'm sure u didn't want my essay lol but hope that helps u xxx

That's amazing Michelle and has really given me motivation for 2012. I need to do wot u did and set mini goals. I get really impatient and lose heart if it comes off slowly. A big big thank u for giving me hope. U shud b v v proud of urself. Well done u!!!! X

Thanks for the info Michelle - i am so chuffed for you! I can't imagine being in a size 16 never mind a 10/12! I have started a few of the ideas you have suggested already with smaller goals of 10lbs at a time. :D
Did you feel at the beginning that nothing would change? That's my biggest fear especially this week as I put on 2lbs even though I stuck to the diet! I don't think i'll believe it until i get about half way!!

Yes, when I first started I had wobbles where I thought I'm wasting my time trying, I used to go the the meetings and wish I could b like the other members who all seemed smaller than me, that's when I decided to start setting my mini goals as 7 stone didn't feel very realistic and I felt I was never gonna do it, so small steps, I had to get myself in the mind set that I didn't put up over 7 stone in a few months so it would take time to get it off, never dreamed it would b within the yr, I always buy myself something nice (non elasticated) in a size below wot I am and that is my motivation, I now carry my 'fat' picture in my purse and when I feel a weak moment I look at it it's always a kick up the backside for me.

Glad I could b of help, still feels odd that I'm now giving advice, but slowly getting used to it, I'm always here, & remember if I can do it anyone can xxxxx

Wow Michelle... just wow... I obviously knew u had lost loads but hearing that it was in a year and that you didnt need massive losses and still changed from 22/24 to 10/12 is just amazing... 2012 will be my year... I am a bridesmaid in Aug - realistically aiming for 16 as I tend to lose my tummy last so still need big sizes till last bit of weight...

Just knowing it can be done is amazing... u truly are an inspiration xxx
 
Hi Carly, thanks so much for creating a new challenge!!! I think I'll put a realistic target of 21lbs, although this may change a little depending on how much I indulge at Christmas! I'll still be weighing in on a Thursday. I would add myself to the list only I'm on my phone and don't know how.. Have a great Christmas :) xxx

Uuurgh! Dammit!! (hauls himself from his lardy rock he's currently hiding under!) Hello everyone! Michelle, what can i say!? Inspirational as ever! I guess I'd better be in this! Ashamed to say this festive period has done me up like a kipper! I reckon I've put on half a stone already so expecting a bit more by jan 2nd! That will but me at needing to lose 2st to get to goal! Ideally I'm aiming to knock that off by June! So I'll go for 21lb! Ha! We can hope!! I've a new laptop which is my toy so I'll have a proper look on the main Minimins site to see if I can work out how I put it in red etc as my phone won't let me! Anyway! I'm longing for the second now as my body is screaming at me to look after it!! You know the voice on the "love your gut with yakult adverts"......well mine had got Tourette's and is screaming at me to but the f***ing cheese down! Thank you Carly for setting this up, I forgot how encouraging it is to be part of this group! Now where're the leftover pigs in blankets!? NOM!

I officially have 13lbs to go to goal weight, but tbh not sure if I might go lower, depending how I feel then!

So I'm going to say 13lbs for this challenge. Perfectly achievable :)

Quite excited about being back on the straight and narrow....:.because my GOD am I on the fat and wide at the mo!!

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and new year! Hope you all find lovely things in your stockings!

It's my little family's first real Christmas together so I'm made up.....though my wife ignored my suggestion and insisted we leave a mince pie and a carrot for Santa....apparently beer and porn isn't very traditional!
