New man!

Fantastic loss Rick  You will love it here, everyone's so friendly!

My goodness! Thats superb! As Shelly Star says, what have you been doing?
You'll love this site, its good for tips and the recipes oh and its rather funny too.

Well done so far and good luck with your loses!

Well good morning all and thanks again for your kind words :)

I think that only having been on Slimming World for 2 weeks i am following the plan 100% to see if it actually does work (which it looks like it does!) which means i am comfortably within my syn allowance daily and have no urge to go off track.

I realise that further down the line when things might not be going so well i can look back and try to get back into the first weeks mentality and be as focused as i was then!

I have a cup game away at Weston-Super-Mare today which means a 12 o clock meet followed by a race night back at our clubhouse in Bristol, this equals a long day out so will be taking some chicken, rice and veg in a container to have this evening, i will no doubt get stick from the boys (all in jest of course!) but it will save me from tucking into pork scratchings and other assorted bar snacks tonight!
Oh and i may treat myself to a couple of vodka diet cokes (within syn allowance!) instead of the usual dozen pints of guinness!

Hope you all have a nice day whatever your doing

Rick

well done on you fab losses so far and for getting you head right in there, keep it up and you'll be at you target in no time!!

good luck for you match!

How jelous am i of your losses??? go you!!!

I know what you mean about the footy- my OH (albeit he's a skinny rake who eats crap all day long and never gains a pound..) he plays on a saturday- iv had to stop watching him as they all go back to the pub after, and they put on a free buffet for the two teams who played. - Im in bristol also, so your not far from me :) OH plays for Glenside .. if that means anything to you.

It can be tough- i think even more so being a man. With woman, its almost expected that your always trying to loose weight and although we all get that 'oh one wont hurt your diet, go on!' mentality from those around us, i think men get alot more stick for it if it's known they'r trying to loose weight. Especially when everyone around you has a pint in one hand and a packet of mcoys in the other!!

like you say though, mens losses generally tend to average bigger than that of us girlies.. so youl be at target in no time!

xx

Hi Fern, yes i think Glenside play in the suburban league?
I play for Stockwood Green in the Somerset County League so play most of my football in and around Somerset but there are a few Bristol teams in there also.

Like you say it's almost a given that when the game finishes you are expected to 'get on it' with the boys so this could be where my potential downfall lies especially as im in my twenties and do love socialising and hitting town with the boys, but this is where i can use my syns and have a couple of vodka's!

Right that's me off to get ready for football, have a good day and thanks for the encouragement!

Rick

Thanks very much jigglymum and well done on your loss so far!

Good luck today Rick.... be strong haha and i'm sure u'll be fine.... least ur getting exercise, it's more than me..... note to self need to get back the gym! hahaha x

Hey Rick, Well done on your losses so far and welcome!!

Hope the game went well!

D xx

Wow thanks again for making me feel so welcome you really are a lovely bunch!

Shelly Star 8 lbs is nothing to be sniffed at you should be proud, as a man apparantly we lose quicker than women so don't forget that!
I have an active job lugging beer barrels around so as long as i dont drink the stock that definitely helps!
I also play football twice a week (in goal!) train on a Tuesday and do a bit of jogging so i am a bit of a fit fatty if you know what i mean  but it was just my terrible diet that was preventing me from losing weight but i'm hoping Slimming World will change all that :)

I have just started doing a bit of boxing in my mates garage aswell nothing serious just a bit of punch bag work using some training tips i found online which is great cardio.

Looking through this site there are some great success stories and wonderful recipies which i'm definitely looking forward to trying ;)

Anyway enough of my rambling and thanks once again for making me feel soooo welcome, have a great weekend everyone speak soon. x

Rick
Hey Rick! don't knock rambling lol.

That's what I've took up until I'm comfortable to start playing football in the new year:)

I'm 46 at the end of this month ands therefore going to find it difficult to be the midfield maestro I once was.

You'l love it on here though, and with SW you'll never be hungry. Just cut out the errors and do the right thing - bit like football really;)

Good luck from a fellow blokie!

Steve

Good evening all!

Thanks to everyone else who has wished me luck since i was last on here i'm really touched.

I'm thinking of starting an online diary on here as reading through a few of them i reckon it could be very beneficial.
Well to those who sent their good lucks for the game on Saturday it seemed to have paid off as we won 2-1 so thankyou all!

I could tell that the 19lbs loss had an impact on my game as i definitely felt a bit lighter on my feet and i'm sure my top was a bit looser so onwards and umm downwards from here!

I hope you all had a good weekend and stayed focused and on plan or as close to it as possible, i think i may of had a couple of vodkas too many at our race night!

Have a good evening all,

Rick

I'm sure ur top was much looser with 19 lbs gone that really is fantastic, maybe you just can't see it yourself but your mates will be able too

Im not suprised you felt a difference!! :giggle: Fab loss so far!!

Aye we'll be queuing up for autographs sonn,Rick. Fabio is still unsure of his number one as well.....

Now there's a REAL target;)

Best of luck mate.

Out if interest, how do you celebrate with the lads after the game - did you find a replacment drink, or quit altogether? - just curious.

Steve
