    Hi everyone!!

I've just come back to Slimming World, and having browsed this site in the past without really posting, though this time I should pluck up courage and jump right in!!

I've been trying to lose weight on my own since the beginning of January. Actually I've been trying to lose weight most of my adult life... But THIS time I've been trying on my own since January, but having lost a lovely 10lbs in the first month slipped back into bad habits in February and put 2lbs back on. So I decided to get some support and took myself off to a Slimming World meeting this morning.

I'm off on holiday on Good Friday, just over six weeks time, so I'm planning to give it my all until then and hopfully I'll make some more headway in the 5 stone I want to lose in total this year.

Wish me luck and if anybody wants a diet buddy give me a shout - I'd love to buddy up and share this journey with people.

Good luck :D I'm new this week and hoping this is what works for me - I've tried all manner of weird things which have just haven't worked and horrified to find out how much I weighed on Monday at my first weigh-in. It'll be a long journey but I'm sure it'll be worth it :)

Hello...I'm also a newbie and have my first weigh in tomorrow. I was doing Rosemary Conley last year but the classes got cancelled and I thought I would be able to do it alone. However, like you, I slipped in bad habits again and the weight crept back on. So last week I dragged myself to my first SW meeting and found out that I'd nearly put back on all I'd lost with RC

Wishing you well with your weight loss, hopefully we can all support each other!! :)

Hi, I'm new to this site too, got my third weigh in tonight. I have never really dieted before, just ate and drank as I damn well pleased, now's the time to stop and get healthy. Loving slimming world, really into it now, fingers crossed the scales agree at tonight's weigh in!! Good luck xx

Help please on slimming world plan not working

Hi, I joined approx three months ago and so far have lost just 3 lbs! My leader has checked my food diaries, I've done the SAS diary , I follow the plan totally, I' m generally disciplined, you can take it that I am following it to the letter, I exercise just twice a week due to work commitments, so I cannot understand what I am doing wrong, very upsetting watching every one around me loose weight ( I need to loose 2 stone) I cannot give up as I promised my friend I would attend with her, but I am so upset over how bad I'm doing, I have a lump in my throat every week, having to stay to class and every week I seem to be the centre of attention, I know people are looking at me and are probably thinking I'm not following it, and I am so embarrassed, but I have to attend as my friend has a lot to loose and is doing great on the plan, can anyone offer me advise? I'm desperate and in a bad place, I am on HRT but my leader has checked it out and it does not have any affect on loosing weight

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling Roseberryrose. I'm not sure what to suggest, except perhaps to up the amount of super free and look at portion size of free foods (I know you are supposed to be able to eat freely, but if you are following it to a T and not losing it is the only thing I can think of). People on here are pretty helpful so if you posted some food diaries on here I'm sure people would have look and make some suggestions. There is also a thread for people having a fish only week, which is supposed to boost losses because most fish is a S or SS food. It is great that you have kept going to support you friend - please don't give up, you just need to figure out how to make it work for you.

I know how you feel Roseberry Rose, as although altogether I have lost a stone with SW in 10 months my losses have been very slow (1/2lb at a time) and I have had weeks where I have been 100% on plan and either maintained or had a small gain. I have sat in group week after week listening to how other people sneaked in a whole dominos pizza and the like and still had a 3lb loss and I have felt at times like a broken record moaning that it doesn't seem to work for me. I have tried lots of different things: red days only, 777, scan bran low syns every day etc and finally over the last 2 weeks am I now starting to believe that better/ consistent losses depend on two factors: 1) sticking to 15 syns per day (as opposed to saving up syns for a weekend binge) 2) being extremely strict with my 1/3 superfree in order to limit the free food portions. I did this last week and lost 2lbs and am doing it again this week so if I get a good loss again I will jump for joy as it means I will have found the magic recipe off myself with SW!!

To try and police this I am taking photos of every meal I have (they are posted in my food diary if you want to take a look). Hope you find your magic recipe too x

I am a very slow loser, and sometimes dont lose anything even though i stick to the diet to the letter, and it is very frustrating xx

Hey, how is everybody getting on??

I've had a really good couple of days - feeling really positive. I don't know what the scales will say on Tuesday, but I'm feeling happy that I'm getting back into the plan. I'd actually forgotton how much I enjoy doing SW - when my head is in the right place. I've tried before when I've not been in the right frame of mind and it is just a non-starter, but at the moment I feel like something has clicked and it seems to be working.

Hope you are all having a good weekend.
