new mums & mums to be !!! Who`s baby is due next ???

Oh dear Bea, hope the volume can be turned back up again soon (not too much though ay?!)

How's everyone else going in the storm? I got woken up every hour and a half or so with either the wind or rain or bad dreams, think the storm was the cause of the dream but of course they're even more vivid than they were pre pregnancy! Ended up being too scared to go back to sleep at one point as kept going back in to the same dream, luckily hubby was having a quiet time at work and could tell me I was being a plum!!!!

Oh Sunflower....I managed to sleep through it all.....think its from being brought up on a farm...I got so used to hearing funny noises in the night!! Mind you I did have a series of weird dreams.........

Ahh, lucky you Bea!! I grew up in really rural villages and was lucky enough to stay on farms in the holidays and stuff - and then helped out with friends who worked on farms when I was older.. But to live on one must have been fabulous - fresh fresh milk out of the chiller, yum!!

I'm not normally such a light sleeper - not sure if it is the pain maybe that is making me so?

Hope everyone else is ok!

Hiya guys......hopeyou are all well..???
I actually feel pretty good today, still uncomfortable with the spd, but actually slept the best I have done for ages. Dont know what or if I did anything different.
I have been told that my bump has grown loads over the weekend.....lol. Well she has been a right fidget today, she has changed position dont know which way she is though as its hard to feel through the hernia......then there is the extra room from previous pregnancies so she will be all over the place until later on.
OOOOOOO I need the loo again.....!!!!!!

Good to hear from you Sonkie and that you are feeling good! My bump has suddenly really popped out....

Heya sonkie, glad to hear all is going well!! The needing to pee lots is a nightmare isn't it?!!! We're going to take out shares in andrex soon!!! :D Aww, the movements are lovely though aren't they? Hubby loves feeling them! He or she got himself in to such a position last night that we had a very hard little bottom sticking out of the top of my bump - hubby was really overawed when I got him to feel it and then explained what it was.. Afew seconds later there was another almighty movement and the lump disappeared - to be replaced by a foot sticking out which hubs could feel, so that was pretty cool!

How are your hubbys going with your bumps? Mine loves touching it (which is great - he has cold hands and it's heaven on my warm bump!) and talking to bean too, it's lovely! I said he'll be reading him stories through my bump soon and, if we had any books out the loft yet, I think he probably would!!

Anyone got any bump pics to post? Bea - if yours has just popped out!! I'll be doing some more next week I think!

Hee hee my bump pics would fill the screen .....seeing there is a huge hernia and a baby fighting for space.
When I go back to midwife at the end of the month she will be refering me to see an anaesthetist ......think due to hernia but she said everyone overweight gets seen by them....is this right Helen do you know ????? I think she is just doing it incase of probs with hernia myself.

Anyway im not bothered by it but I am really wanting au natural birth with gas and air......this is all I had with Callum who was 9lbs 11oz.....so fingers crossed.

Hope everyone else is ok !!!

Wow Sonkie...you did well with an almost 10 pounder with only gas and air.....

I will dig out the camera and take a few bump photos....we can all compare LOL!!

I know ....yet Dans birth at 7lbs 11oz was a nightmare......I was induced, given pethidine, wanted epidural, wasnt possible. The trainee midwife I had watching me kept telling me not to push so I was trying to fight my body which was telling me its time to push.....senior m/w came in and said I should have been pushing a long time ago as baby was starting to crown.......basically was not a good time.

Yet a heavier baby no drugs was a wonderful experience....!!!
Hopefully the hernia will behave and will be able to go natural.

Fingers crossed for you hun!

How is everyone this week.....off work for a week from Friday and really pleased to be able to spend a bit of time at home with my feet up (well for a bit of it!!)

Hubby has suggested we go away to Spain for a short break in April....he's found a super cheap deal on the internet....I will be 30 weeks.....my doc seems cool about it but wonder what your views were??? It is a bit dodgy to travel so late........

Fingers crossed for you hun!

enjoy your time off...it will fly by!

i believe that according to the literature - if your doc clears you for travel, then its ok -- i mean you wont be on the other side of the world...

guess you would have to be super careful not to drink anything contaminated or at worse get food poisoning -- but other than that, you should be ok...remember to hydrate regularly, and rest when you need to...ohhhhhhhhhh, i envy you! going on a trip sounds fab!

hope the other girls are doing well...another week gone by! cant believe how fast its been...i go for another scan on the 19th -- very excited to see her again, even if its just for a short while...she is certainly squirming alot!

btw, what are your takes on baby movement -- think its more/less/the same compared to carrying a boy?

Thats good advice.....and good to hear you are well and going for another scan.

Movements feel a bit different I think....plently of them but in different place if you know what I mean. On the 4d scan baby looks like our son...so hubby bet is on a boy....me still thinks its a girl!

Ooh Nina, enjoy your next scan, glad to hear you're well!!

Bea - I went on a holiday with hubby when I was 21 weeks - it was such a wonderful experience to be away knowing it would be the last holiday we took as a couple - next time will be a family!! At 30 weeks you'll probably be quite tired - but, with my spd, I found that if I rested for a little while after breakfast, then went out for the rest of the morning and lunch, came back to the hotel and slept for an hour and then went back out again for the afternoon, came back and slept for an hour before going out for supper it worked just fine! Hubby didn't mind coming back to the hotel thankfully - we just bought a couple of good books while we were out there - maybe pack some books for him before you go incase you do need to rest?

Where abouts are you going in Spain? :) We went there 2 or 3 years ago for a bit of a mad tour and enjoyed it!! If you're staying in a city then try and get a hotel near the centre or, at least if you're in Barcelona or somewhere equivalent, get a hotel near a metro tube station, save your feet if you're coming back to the hotel lots!!

Have fun!

xx

Oh thanks Sunflower thats good advice the sort of holiday I love - plently of R&R. Hubby has been stressed out with work lately and actually said he wants a "do nothing" holiday...also keen for our little boy to have a few days playing on the beach as it will be a few years before we will have a family holiday again. Its actually Tenerife....RyanAir fly there.....spoke to the docotor again yesterday and he was really ok about it. So going to book it this weekend.

Hope you all have a good weekend..

We went to tenerife when I was about 6 - it's changed a lot since then though I think, more touristy now! (in a good way, there wasn't masses there I remember but I was young!)

Sounds a lovely holiday - would love to lie on a beach with a book at the moment, sounds heaven!!! Enjoy!

Are you going for a hotel or villa? :)

Things are going ok here, I've been taking the amitriptyline for a few days - 5th day today.. It's not really helping with the pain but it's making me so so so drowsy I dont really care.. I'm sleeping for about 6 hours a day in 30-40 minute stretches - so, even if it does nothing for the pain, it is making me doze more! Not enjoying being so drowsy though - I feel muddled a lot of the day.. Hopefully it will ease off a bit once it's in my system!

Hope everyone else having a good weekend..

xx

Oh...there is nothing worse than that muddled feeling....really hope it sorts is self out and you get some real pain relief...what an ordeal you are going through.....not long now....

Yeah...he's found a hotel on Costa Adeje...which is supposed to be super quiet...honestly all we want (and all I will be able for) is sitting on sun lounger by day and a nice dinner by night......

Just booked the flights.....Eur168 for the three of us!! We will book the hotel at the end of month (next pay check needed!!).....

Ooooo a nice break away how cool will that be......I am jealous.
Well I will be giving up work at the beginning of april, both the little ones I look after are going to nursery so its not worth starting to care for more kiddies with a few weeks to go.
I am also giving up the childminding for good as I want a change when I am ready to go back to work. Plus it will only be part time so Mark will be able to care for Hannah as I really dont want to leave her to go back to work.

I am going to look into some other form of working from home, as we need the cash but I cant leave her !!!!!!
Anyone got any ideas ?????

A couple of things....telesales or even better a CDC???

You have been there, worn the t-shirt - know all the ups and down and would be an inspiration for those dieting.....( you spend you time giving great advice and support here...).I know you have some to loose when you have Hannah but that could really spur you on....

I did ask my cdc but I am too big, aparently you need to be a below a certain bmi.......I would have loved to have done cdc ing....never mind. Will have to get my weight off after then see if I can do it.

Hey guys....have you heard the news......maternity units turning women in labour away due to being full. I think this is probably a bit O.T.T. nothing like scare mongering.
So is it supposed to be the wards or the labour suites......well Im hoping to go home A.S.A.P afterwards
