Hi everyone.

I have only been doing LT 100% for three weeks but due to medical reasons I have to stop as of today. I have my Lt bag with the instructions on but was wondering if you all have any tips to keep the weight off. I have lost 24lbs so far and would be gutted to put it back on (im gutted to have to stop LT to be honest but oh well).

Thanks in advance.

Hi Misskyneston,
You need to follow the re-feed sheet 100% and you shouldn't have a gain hun. Its good that you took the advice re the ME. Your health is more important. If you need any other advice just ask! xx

Hey, shame you have to stop but always follow advice re medical reasons. There is always another diet you can do.

Here is the refeed plan - follow it to the letter and adapt the portions & types of food into your everyday life after refeed and you should do ok :)

Refeed Programme

DAY 1.

Have 2 Lipotrim servings and one meal, as follows (men continue to have 2 servings, as before, while women take 1 less serving of Lipotrim).

You may not have bread, grains (rice) or pasta until Day 4.
Fruit should wait until Day 4 at the earliest (later if you have carbohydrate problems).

You may have milk in tea/coffee.

At lunchtime or evening meal time you may have some skinless, boneless chicken breast or white fish fillet, or some skinless turkey (about 4-6ozs.) The fish or chicken may be steamed, microwaved, baked or cooked with a little water in a non-stick pan. Or you may have tuna fish in water or brine (drained). Vegetarians may use tofu or quorn.

You may also have either a moderate serving of salad (small breakfast bowl) from any of the following:
Lettuce
Cucumber
Cress
Watercress
Tomatoes
Mushrooms
Onions
Peppers
Bean sprouts
Celery dressed with a little lemon juice or wine vinegar
Or if you prefer, a moderate serving (2 heaped table spoons - no more)of some cooked vegetables.

DAY 2

You will have only 1 Lipotrim serving and 2 meals, as described for Day 1.

Day 3

Same as Day 2, but you may also have - at one meal only - an 8 ounce potato, plain boiled, mashed or baked, but with no addition of any fat. You may like to top with some skimmed milk, plain yogurt or very low fat fromage frais and a sprinkle of herbs.

Day 4-7

A Lipotrim serving for your breakfast plus:

Up to 3 serving of fruit (if you suffer from the insulin resistance problem, then eat these late in the day and do not snack on them during the day)

Up to 2 slices of bread or 1 pita or 1 roll or 1 bagel (without fatty spread)

Any vegetables you want except avocado, 1 or 2 servings with your meals (2 tablespoons per serving)

A
ny of the skimmed milk products.

F
ish fillet (any size) or 6 ounces of chicken or turkey, as described before, or one tin of tuna in water or brine, drained. Vegetarians may use tofu, textured vegetable protein (TVP) or quorn.

Lean meat with all visible fat trimmed off

Low fat recipes prepared with low fat sauces - e.g. lean mince with low fat bolognese sauce

Medium baking potato or 6 small new potatoes or one serving of instant mashed potatoes (the kind with no added fat- read the label).

Instead of potato, you may have 4ozs of rice or pasta (cooked weight).

Sample menu for days 4 to 7.....

Sample 1

Breakfast: Lipotrim serving.

Lunch: Fish fillet (any type - cod, salmon etc), serving of potatoes ( 1 medium jacket or 6 new potatoes or a serving-spoon mash - no added fat) Yogurt ( low fat).

Evening: Sandwich (no spread of any sort), consisting of: pickles, fat-free mayonnaise, salad/carrot, slice cold meat (low fat).

Sample 2

Breakfast: Lipotrim serving

Dinner: Spaghetti Bolognese, consisting of drained lean mince, low fat sauce, 4 ounces cooked spaghetti or rice, serving spoon of vegetables. Low fat dessert.

Hi hun,
sorry to hear that you have had to stop. There are a few of us that have started refeeding this week so have a look at what we have done. I planned out my weeks menu in advance as I'm a bit of a control freak so I know where I'm at. I still want to lose at least another stone so I am going to stick with this for a few weeks and see how I get on.
We are all here if you need some advice. Take a look at the sheet Tanya has posted as this will be your food bible for the next week!
Let us know how you get on :)

Have you posted your menus on here! I undertsand the sheet and everything but Im not really very inventive!

Yes I have- they are a few threads back. Something about someone having a look?! I don't know how to link it sorry! Also checks Ciara's and Nikki's as they have put their daily menu's on theirs. Mine isn't quite right ( see Tanya's reply ) I have got a few bits to alter on it but hopefully that will give you a rough idea!

I cant find them :(

Im a bit confused as well. I understand we folow the sheet to the letter but are baked beans classed as a serving of vegetables? lol And if not when can we include them?

Also Im not too sure when we can introduce light salad cream?

And (sorry for the million questions!) what yogurts are we allowed to eat in the later part of the week? Are any better than others?

My pharmacist is useless and cant help me!

Here's a couple of them. One is thomasinas week plan and the other is someones refeed diary.

Im sure baked beans arent classed as a vegetable and one of your 5 a day, but don't quote me on that but I wouldnt introduce them untill after day 7 of refeed just because of the sugar and stuff in the sauce.

You can have lf salad cream, mayo etc from day 4. Try out some of the helmans lf vinegarettes with some salads. They are pretty nice.

Yogurts, any that are low fat. I personally like the ww ones but they can be expensive and i only buy them if they are on offer otherwise i just buy the asda own brand lf yogurts.

Don't worry about the million questions, its what this site is for! :) Anything else just ask x

Have just found this fromt he FSA website .... (i hope im allowed to quote the link here)
Food Standards Agency - Eat well, be well - Fruit and veg

Do pulses and baked beans count towards my daily fruit and veg portions?

Beans and pulses can count towards the five portions of fruit and veg we should aim to eat each day, but they can only make up a maximum of one portion a day.

You need to eat three heaped tablespoons of pulses or beans to make up one portion.

Pulses and beans are a good source of protein and they are rich in fibre. They also contain iron, but they don't provide much of vitamins A, C or E. We need to eat a variety of fruit and veg to make sure that we get these and other important nutrients.

Tinned baked beans can be high in sugar and salt, so try to choose low-sugar, low-salt varieties when you can. If you buy tinned pulses, choose those without added salt if possible.

Sorry to hear that you have had to stop tfr but you are right to heed your doctor. Good luck with the refeed. Look at other plans for continuing your losses. You can check out other forums on minimins and see how people are doing. You can try calorie counting, weightwatchers or GI/GL approaches.
I think it is best to adopt the attitude that you are changing lifestyle and not dieting as such. That way you will continue with it for the long haul.
I am following a GL plan since finishing tfr and I find it fab. I adopt the simple approach that on a week that I want to overeat etc then that is a week I will gain and I will have to make amends for it the following week.
