This time for sure
Hi my name is Margi and I am new to this forum, wish I had found it a long time ago. I have been fat ever since I can remember, weighing a whopping 12 stone aged 12.
I have tried every diet with great results for a week or two and then the loss stops and you all know how it goes after that.
I had considered having a gastric band fitted, but my doctor told me I needed to lose 6 stone before they would consider me. My answer to that was that if I could lost 6 stone on my own I wouldn't need the gastric band.
I bought a hypnotherapy gastric band in December last year (it was on offer). I saw my therpist in January for the first time and I remember the shock when I tipped the scales at over 29stone! I was at least 2 stone heavier than I thought I was and accused him of having faulty scales. When I left there I went straight to Boots to weigh myself and then it hit me, that I really WAS this fat.
I saw my therapist every 10 days and did lose some weight. Most of all though we were working on changing my eating habits, portion size, and in general cognitive behaviour. I remember whenever I used to get a plate of food thinking to myself "that is never gonna fill me up" now I am at the point where I think "how am I possibily going to eat all that".
I am not on a diet and I eat what I want in moderation, thus not depriving myself and ending up binging.
Anyway the hypnosis worked but not the gastric band part of it. But still its changed my life and my eating habits and I have no problems carrying on just as I have.
Has any of you been down the hypnotherapy route or perhaps just decided to follow a healthy eating plan as opposed to a diet?
My weight loss 9 weeks in is as follows:
Week 1 -7lbs
Week 2 -3lbs
Week 3 -1lbs
Week 4 -4lbs
Week 5 -2lbs
Week 6 -2lbs
Week 7 +5.5lbs :cry
cocktails never a good idea)
Week 8 -4lbs
Week 9 (Today) -5lbs
1.5 stone lost only 13 more to go!!!
