New WeMITT with lots to lose

Well girls I lost a mere pound today and I am quite disappointed. I know a pound is a pound but I have been exceptionally good this week and exercised!!! Hopefully it will be better next week! Hope you all go on better than me :)

Like the others have said, a lb is a lb, at least you're going in the right direction - and if it was any one of us telling you we'd only lost a lb you would be really positive for us and tell us all the things we're saying to you, so be a bit kinder to yourself, you are doing a great job, you've eaten healthy, exercised, all of that can only be good for you, don't let the numbers on the scale or your mind upset the apple cart :)

Wishing you a great week ahead, full of positivity, healthy eating, exercise and a better loss on the scales :)

Thanks for the encouragement girls, I have calmed down a bit now. Ah so sorry to hear Rainbow Rose, still you could have gained and that would be worse.

Went for my 1st workout tonight and I'm still alive!!! The fitness instructor explained that when you start an excercise routine that your body starts to convert fat into muscle and that you might not lose any weight but you will lose inches. That made me feel a little better and I bet its the same for you Rainbow Rose. So measurements taken tonight and we will see how that goes. I can recommend it though. Just google 30 minute workout for women and see if there is one in your area (obviously if you fancy it). Believe me if I can do it ANYBODY can do it!!!

Fingers crossed that we are all big losers next time round :)

That's really interesting roadmutha, thanks, :) because the strange thing is, I could feel a loss on my thighs and across my tummy, a kind of 'deflated' look about them ;) so I was really expecting at least a 2lb loss, so that's why I was so devasted to read the scales this morning  Maybe, I have lost inches this week  I've decided I'm putting today well behind me and will concentrate on the next result now :)
Well done on exercising :D you really mean business this time, congratulations! I can't face an exercise class or gym at the moment. but one day!!!!

Have a good week, stay strong :)

Well done Margi! Keep it up. a lb is a lb-better to have one off than one on! AND Rainbow Rose...it's better to stay the same than gain a lb....it'll just mean more to lose next week eh? Focus on the positives...getting healthier, fitter, how much you have lost (rather than how much you still have to lose).

Impressed by all this exercise...I'm putting it off till I get to under 20 stone and it's not recommended by Cambridge to exercise as the diet is so restrictive...but after all these years of carrying nearly 3 times my own body weight I'm gonna need to firm up! Lol!

My weigh day is sun and I usually post on the Sun weigh in forum.

P.S. I am only 3.5 inches taller than you Margi but there wasn't an option for half inches!

Hi Ellie, yeah back on positive track now, you are right a pound is a pound! Well you have lost great weight and I am sure this Sunday would be no exception. I am sure any man will tell you 3 inches is very important :D

I do feel much more positive esp since people who haven't seen me (and don't know I am trying to lose weight) commented on my weight loss. I am getting measured tonight at the workout place so that would be interesting to see as they guarantee inch loss or your money back.

Have any of you had your measurements taken?

Keep it going ladies :)

ive never done measurments. I really should I know. I know my clothes are looser, I can fit in a lower size jeans. My sis in law is saying my tracky pants are hanging off me now so I know ive lost inches but would be nice to see the figures.

Hi all, Ya I took measurements at the start and am going to take them again at the end of this week. Always a good motivator if the scales aren't moving in the right direction!!

Hi all, like you margi only down a lb this week but not too disappointed also down 3 inches so thrilled with that. still motivated for next week Here we go!!

Well done Kate! Keep it up. Its good to see that the measuring thing does work. The gym will measure me on a monthly basis, so hoping for some serious inches to have come off in 3 weeks time.

I am off to weigh myself in a bit. Not looking forward to it as I have spent the last 3 days in Ireland and I have not been too good! Still hopefully with the 3 workouts I had last week there will be some shift. (*prays quietly*)

How did the rest of you get on with your Fri and Sun weigh ins?

I saw my therapist every 10 days and did lose some weight. Most of all though we were working on changing my eating habits, portion size, and in general cognitive behaviour. I remember whenever I used to get a plate of food thinking to myself "that is never gonna fill me up" now I am at the point where I think "how am I possibily going to eat all that".

I am not on a diet and I eat what I want in moderation, thus not depriving myself and ending up binging.

Anyway the hypnosis worked but not the gastric band part of it. But still its changed my life and my eating habits and I have no problems carrying on just as I have.

Has any of you been down the hypnotherapy route or perhaps just decided to follow a healthy eating plan as opposed to a diet?

Hi there. :wavey: Just wanted to say I know what it's like too to be 12st at 12yo and I am lucky that I am not 29st at 29:eek: but I'm 19.5st which isnt good either.

I have been thinking again recently about one-to-one hypnosis as I think it'd help me more than the cds I have (Paul McKenna and glenn harrold). A hypnotherapist about 20 miles from me offers gastric mind band which I'm very interested in.

Reason i quoted you was you said you didn't think the gastric band part was working for you but you also said you have a plateful of food and now you think how can I finish all that? Sounds like it's working pretty well to me!:D

I have been trying for several years to do a vlcd (very low cal diet) or even any diet and I just can't so I'm again looking into IE (intuitive eating) and possibly hypnosis.

Another member, Broxi has had hypnosis and I am gonna catch up with her on the general weightloss discussion board now. Best of luck on your journey, I'll subscribe so I can follow your story.:)

Hi Lynn, good to hear from you.
The reason I said the gastric band hypno didn't work for me is because I was no different after it. I had decreased my portion size before that point and it didn't make any difference. The idea is that you are supposed to eat about 100g of food and be full, as you would with a gastric band.

One word of advice, make sure you do your research with regard to your therapist and that they are specialists in the field. Lots of phoneys out there.

Good luck with your weight loss and keep us informed how you get on. :)

Hi Margi, How'd ur weigh in go this week?

woohoo for the 2.5 loss

Congrats on the 2.5lb loss roadmutha......well done.........I really need to exercise more, think I'll start with trying to walk round the block, its a big block and hilly, but with bad asthma and dodgy knees it'll be a tough walk.......

Thanks Sparkles and GLL :)

and Big Girl.

I too have bad knees and asthma but finding that I can cope with the 30 min workout as it is low impact. Its been 2 weeks now and I am really enjoying it.

Fingers crossed for your next weigh-in

Hi margi was down 2 lbs this week so thrilled - best of luck for Monday xx
