New Year... New Start - onwards and downwards.

I suppose they're small enough that it is allowed.

In fact, I've just googled it and the official line is the opposite, you aren't supposed to put them in the hold!

[h=2]Lighters[/h]You can only carry 1 lighter on board. You should put it inside a plastic bag for liquids, which you must keep on you throughout the flight. You can’t:

  • place it in your hold luggage
  • return it to your hand luggage after screening

Yeah that's true, well under the limit I guess. Wonder why it can't go in hold luggage, something to do with pressure possibly, I don't know.

Found a cake, a little Me 2 You one in Asda.

I could have got a slightly bigger chocolate cake for the same price but I like that this is only a little diddy one as there'll only be us eating it and we won't have a fridge to keep it in! Not very manly but meh, it's cute and it's the thought that counts lol

The things you worry about! Not manly enough, LOL. This is much better than lugging a big chocolate cake to Tunisia, which would need to go in the fridge, but with this one, it won't matter so much.

Exactly, that's why this was a much better choice. It's not manly but I'm not particularly bothered about it really. Tastes just the same!

Umm probably as it's not pastel pink and yellow lol Aaron won't care, cake is cake!

You are the best GF ever.

You are the best GF ever.

Tell Aaron that! Hehe I think he appreciates all the little things I do though.

His present today is the book '300 beer to try before you die' as he's really got into them, particularly little independent breweries. I managed to find a little independent specialist beer shop in the city centre and went in there with a copy of the list. He helped me pick out 5 that Aaron should like and that are ones you can't generally find in a pub or supermarket that he'll get as another one of his presents. I think it could be a really nice thing to plan little trips around, there are quite a few from the UK and close by Europe like France, Belgium and Germany so easy to do little holidays and try find them while we're there. Not sure it's as much an option for the US ones though!

Amazeballs! Wish someone put as much thought as that into my birthday presents! Mind you, DH did get me that mini sewing machine, but it was suggested to him by my sister, it still took a woman to think of it! Bruges is a brilliant place for a weekend beer tasting break, maybe he'll take you there for your birthday! :p

Men need suggestions though, their brains don't have work that way otherwise! We're looking at going to Bruge around Christmas time for their Christmas market, if we can afford it anyway.

I'm going to order that book for DH for his birthday. He'll enjoy it.

Haha SQ you got me! Mel I got the book from the book people (www.tbp.co.uk is their website I think) for a very reasonable £4.

Love the cake Caz and the Boy will too! :) I bought hubby loads of me to you themed cards, figurines etc during our early years.....they are cute and romantic! :)

Loving the inscription on watch, thanks for telling me what is is..damn eyesight! hee hee

I seem to remember hubby carrying matches on our last flight, he usually has his lighter, but decided to leave it at home as it was last minute running out the door to airport... and we weren't sure about the lighter rules and regulations.

You have everything so well planned and organised, you will both have fab holiday and birthday celebration too :)

Thanks! I'll order it when I get home a since it comes get some of the recommends. DH's birthday is in September. It's on a Thursday - so I want him to take the day off and we'll do the World of Harry Potter Tour. I'll use the backpack and make a special lunch. Then we'll get home in time to take him to Spiceland for dinner. He's not going to know the plan -- it'll be a surprise. I hope.

That sounds like a lovely plan. My birthday is September too, all the best people's birthdays are ;)
