Newbie! :D

Hello everyone, I am new around these parts! I am going to be embarking upon the Atkins way of life tomorrow morning, I have got low carb sausages, bacon and eggs in my fridge waiting for me for breakfast :D I have done Atkins before but it was quite a while ago, it didn't last very long and I wasn't very committed. Unlike this time! I will be getting up nice and early tomorrow to take my starting weight but I have a feeling I need to lose about ten stone altogether (maybe more), that seems very daunting at the moment but I am sure I will get there. Might take me a while but I am feeling quite motivated at the moment. Anyway, hope everyone is well and I am looking forward to getting to know you.

Hello! Welcome to the forum. I'm still pretty new as well, but I've found minimins to be an incredibly supportive and positive community in which to discuss weightloss goals, journeys and struggles. :)

I have lost weight doing Atkins/Low carb in the past and so has my dad.

As for having what seems like a lot of weight to lose, I suggest taking it a stone or 1/2 stone at a time.

Thanks both :) I have been doing a lot of research over the past couple of weeks and I reckon I'm going to like it! Just need to get through the first few days and I'll be well one my way :D

I would definitely recommend having a proper read through the Atkins book if you've not already done so and make sure you drink lots of water.

Best of luck to you, this forum is great for support and you'll always find someone who can answer a question/give you sympathy or a kick up the backside lol

Thanks everyone for the nice welcome! Well today was my first day and I feel like I did really well both foodwise and exercise wise :) I hope all days are this easy! Ate some really nice meats and vegetables and I'm feeling pretty good and very optimistic. Making a Sunday dinner tomorrow but will pass on the potatoes and yorkie puds lol. Hope you have all had a good day and thanks again for welcoming me in :D xxx

Thanks everyone, I am doing really well! Loving the food and doing lots of exercise! Had a sneaky peek at the scales this morning and was over the moon to see that I have lost 5lbs in 5 days! My official weekly weigh day is Saturday. I am feeling very excited! Yay! :D xxx

Oh, and Missy I was very strong and resisted making yorkies! They are so nommy though aren't they? Oh well, a small price to pay, and we do get to eat lots of other lovely foods instead :) xxx
