1. You can now easily put an SW award in your signature/posts like a smilie. Just look for the SW award tab after you tap on the smilie face.

Newbie hello!

  1. Hi everyone!

    I'm new to this forum so thought I'd say hello, I've been doing slimming world on and off for a few years now. My recent journey started in January but I'm really struggling this time round having only lost 4lb since I started. I go to group and stay to meetings every week and we have a Facebook page but there is very little support given so thought I'd give this a go. I'm going to have a nosy through some posts now..............

    Hello, welcome along. You will not regret joining this forum for a second and wish you had done it sooner. It's a great place to get help, support and advice about anything.

    Perhaps you could follow someone else's food diary to give you ideas and keep you motivated or you could start a diary of your own. There are loads of different threads for recipes and posts about what people have had for Breakfast, Lunch and Tea etc and questions about syn values. It's very addictive and before you know it, you've been searching for hours!

  6. Thank you :) I've been doing slimming world for many years now so know it inside and out I think lol - I lost 2st in 2012 got my award in feb 2013 and have up smoking the following week - 18mths later still a non smoker but 3 stone heavier

  7. Sorry pressed send before I'd finished that lol......

    ......I'm really struggling this time round and not really sure why - my head wasn't in it to start with and it took for me to lose 6lbs then put it all back on over a fortnight to sort my self out and realise I need to do this!!

    I had a BBQ last weekend for my hubby's birthday and there were lots of desserts and lots of pimms and cider - I ended up gaining 4lb this week! I'm success expressing it at the mo for the first time and I'm struggling I've already caved twice and been at the naughty stuff - hopefully not done too much damage!!

    Looking forward to reading everyone's posts and will be adding a food diary as of tomorrow! I need support this time round, as great as my consultant is I just don't get enough from her or my fellow group members!

    Welcome! As Jeanne said, there is lots of support on here! I am fortunate in that my group is lovely and supportive, but I find this forum invaluable for help, support and advice in between meetings. Have a look at the recipe sub-forum - lots of really good ideas there!

    Well done on still being a non smoker :D

    I'm doing SW for the first time & love it so far. Perhaps pretend you know nothing about it - reread your book / sit through the new members talk?
