Newbie to Juddd Oldie to Diets :) Alottolose's Diary

Hello!

Thought it was about time I set up a diary here in Judddland :)

My story so far is I've lost 40lb+ on Dukan (which is low fat/low carb) but a few weeks ago lost the motivation to continue with it, I spent nearly all year not being able to socialise or eat meals with family and friends and it took it's toll, so rather than falling off the wagon and regaining all the lost weight, I decided to embark on Juddd after seeing how well Pauline and Monica have been doing both on the scales and psychologically :)

Today is day 16 on my Juddd Journey, I would like to get to 139lb before my birthday in mid-November as I made a promise to myself back in January that I would not spend another birthday overweight or unhealthy (so far so good)

I've lowered my body fat, BMI and scale weight, inches have come off all over and so far I'm down from a size 16 to a comfy 12, Dukan has been brilliant but I need less restrictions to not end up a basketcase at the end of this ...

I hated seeing the pendulum motion of the scales whenever I regained water weight/glycogen after having a carb slip up, I think Juddd will mean less of this type of rebound weight regain which for me is brilliant :)

anyways 16 days down, today is an up day :)

I look forward to reading all your diaries for hints n tips

Thanks P :)

Yeah I did notice :D....safety in numbers :D x

Well I slightly over egged the up day today but DD tomorrow so will be back on the straight and narrow :)

lovin' the Juddd xx

Hi and welcome, well done on your weight loss so far, really hope you and juddd get along, I am sure you will x

Off to bed now after a successful UP day (is there really any other kind :D) but to be fair I need to learn to reel in my cals on an up day, I have a tendency to go a bit overboard

anyone with that problem have any tips? :) x

Hey Lotto, without jinxing things I think I've just about managed to get a grip on my up days and I've only done that by planning and counting my calories. Not ideal but hey, I didn't become fat because I hate food and if you let a kid into a sweet shop ... ;)

Happy Tuesday!

:) P I've found it's the same for me as with Dukan, I can't have trigger foods in the house :) else I go a bit mad

still it's early doors in the Juddd journey and I've learnt quickly what I need rulewise :), so single serve portions of the things I fancy (no multipacks here :D) and all will be well (in theory)

hope you're all having a good Juddding morning :) DD here today xx

Found ya! How's your DD going? I started off with a dd yesterday and I survived! I think if I keep enough sf jellies in the fridge I'll do the down days without too much trouble - I hope anyway :) What are you having of a down day? At first I thought I'd finish off some cambridge packets I've leftover from last year but I'm thinking I might need real food to make it bearable. In the book the Dr says it's a good idea to have 5 or so recipes you really like for down days and to have them over and over. I have a down-sized chicken caesar salad recipe somewhere I need to dig up and if it's big enough it'd be great to split that up between lunch and dinner :)

I'm so glad to finally feel I'm eating like a normal human being AND will be able to lose weight!

There's a lot to be said for normality in life CG :) I agree this way of eating doesn't feel like a diet at all!

I started out having tiny brekkie, lunch and dinner but recently I've been saving my DD cals for evening meal and just drinking tea/coffee/water throughout the day :) seems to work out better that way as I found that as soon as I ate something the hunger demon woke up :)

speaking of hunger by stomach just let out the biggest gurgly grumble lol :)

pity we're not in-synch with our ups/dds :) tomorrow I feast, today I fast ;)

x

p.s. been eating real food so far :) haven't read Dr. J's book, considering meal replacements for laziness :D as things progress x

I can write this on here without fear of offending any low carbers :)

but since I came off dukan I've really not craved pasta, oven chips or bread :) which is making up day dinners quite healthy (although up day desserts/snacks are a work in progress :D) x

I've have to be careful on my up days as I have also eaten too much and of the wrong things. Not so much carbs but loads of fruit which I know is packed with fructose and on one occasion I pigged out on cheesecake. However, as a general rule, I'm finding it okay and the DDs aren't so bad, unless I have eaten a lot the day before. Then I find the DDs much harder.. On the days I'm practically gnawing my knuckles off with hunger, I resort to thin soup. Filling but not many calories. My weight is dropping, albeit slowly, but I'm happy as long it continues to go in a downwards direction.

Great post Julie :)

I agree portion control is going to be my biggest battle with Juddd or any other plan I follow as I seem to have an almost obsessive need to consume/get rid of the things in the house that are caloric - like they play on my mind thinking about them 'til I just give in.

I have come to the conclusion that while "frugal me" loves a bargain/deal/multi-buy/multipack...."weightloss me" can't cope with such things and will have to resort to the more expensive single serving packets :) as if it's in the house I will definitely eat it.

Hopefully with this knowledge it might make things a bit easier :) x

So far today (DD) I have have had...

2 glasses of water
1 caffeinated coffee (pre midday)
1 decaffeinated coffee (post midday)
1 herbal tea

:) so far so good in the land of Juddd! x

Ok now I'm struggling, just got back from the temptation that is Asda :)......ugh all the shelves are crammed with delightful christmas treats....and more besides.

Had to buy some stuff for a pack up lunch for tomorrow (UD) and now I feel for the first time today STARVIN' ! :) I was ok before....

I think it's time to put the kettle on as I really don't want to break the fast yet (or I'll be starving before bed - I'm a night owl type :)) x

Oh goodness shall I eat :D

A Chicken triple sandwich
500+ cals of mixed chocolate covered nuts
prawn cocktail skips
and diet ;) irn bru

and that's JUST lunch! lol x

struggled today with first totm while on DD/Juddd, over did my planned cals by about 98 unfortunately but just couldn't satisfy the hunger demon :(

still tomorrow is another day and today was still a pretty low one by normal standards :)
