.Nicki. - time flies.

Hi nicki! Just dropped by to hey well done for getting back on track i can see you have had a tough time but hopefully things will start to work themselves out for you soon, and we are all here to help any way we can! Don't be too hard on yourself and lift the pressure you will find it much easier x x

Ps I want cheesy chips now lol x x

Thankyou for all your lovely posts, you've all made me feel a lot more confident, maybe i am getting back into the right frame of mind.
Been to asda for some much needed supplies fridge is now fully stocked with yogs, coleslaw, eggs and other sw friendly goodies. Hubby was true to his word and bought the whole lot, although i gave him a little money because i did buy a few more bits then i intended. But because he got the food i was able to buy this little lot

SDC11222-1.jpg

It cost me £10 in all but i have 8 tupperware pots, the drinks bottle and the bag which is pretty thick and well insulated. Can't say i'm in love with the zebra print but it was the only bag like that they had and its pretty big so i can keep my little baby bottle of squash in there and its got pink bits. Already have some magic porridge, making magic in one of the pink pots and my ham 'salad' in the other ones. This will save me a fortune as i've been spending prob about £30 a week in co-op (although i did work 6 days)

Oh and look what i had for tea

I think the zebra print looks good with the pink :) very trendy Nicki :D

Well done on your healthy shop and preparing your lunches can be fun too :D you could even make some sw quiche to take in ?

How could you have cheesy chips and not invite me and Dawn  jealous, very very very jealous :D drooling. They look well yummy. A healthy filling tea :D

Well done ! Proud of you :) you can do this Nicki xxxxxx

Hi Bestie!!!

Or ARE you??? :grumble: ...

Suppose my invitation to the cheesy chips and beans dinner is still in the post is it??? :eating:

Wow...it looks sooooo yummy! Hope you thought about me while you were tucking in...

I like all your new bits and pieces Nicki. Sometimes preparation is the key to success, and you've already made a start! And you're the second person today to mention magic porridge to me! I'm really going to have to try it now! What yoghurt do you use?

And as for you getting in the right frame of mind, lets have a look at the evidence shall we...

"Been to asda for some much needed supplies fridge is now fully stocked with yogs, coleslaw, eggs and other sw friendly goodies." equals planning for SW

"Already have some magic porridge, making magic in one of the pink pots and my ham 'salad' in the other ones." equals planning for SW

"Thankyou for all your lovely posts, you've all made me feel a lot more confident, maybe i am getting back into the right frame of mind." equals err...hello...Mrs I Am Getting Back Into The Right Frame Of Mind!!!

I rest my case!!! ;)

I :heartpump: cheesey chips... OMG I'm hungry just thinking about it... I'm just a greedy moo tho!!

Lovin the zebra print, and all the organisation. I am a sucker for some decent tupperware!!! Got some magic porridge brewing myself at the moment, haven;t had it for ages, so really looking forward to it :)

xx

i've decided to try and get my food back on track but not really worry about syns to much (obviously not tucking into sweets all the time but like gravy, ketchup, drinks) i'm not going to worry about my weight so much just getitng my head back into thinking, does that make sense?

Hi Nicki,

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. Work just seems to take over at times and I'm out all the time. Welcome back to SW. Great to see you back here. Please don't feel at all bad for not being here. I think you have to be in the right frame of mind and if you're not then you're not.

Sorry to hear that things are not that great at the moment but good news about the bike. I hope you are able to get out on it soon.

I think my advice about restarting SW is mostly around planning (making sure that you have food in and ready to take to work etc) but also around predicting times that might be difficult to stick to SW and making a plan for how to manage that (that might be setting different limits eg flexi synning or ways of avoiding certain things) and finally being prepared to draw a line under bad times and just accepting that they happen but that what is done is done. None of us are perfect, we all have our moments (which is why we ended up overweight in the first place) but that is normal.

I also wonder whether if things are difficult at the moment and you're not going to be able to stick to the plan as it is, whether to allow yourself some slightly more generous limits eg 25 syns per day or maybe even more if you need them. I did this when I found things difficult after my hols and it really helped. I am now back to the 15 syns per day (except when I 'stumble across' some cinnabons which are 44 syns each and I had two this week - ooops but no regrets at all !)

Anyway, I must go to bed. I am glad to see you back here. Happy to help if I can.

Gail x

P.S. The bunny is still v cute :D

Lovely advice as always Gail!

Great idea to up the syns while you're struggling...gives you flexibility whilst staying in control...I'd forgotten all about that xx

Oh my gosh that cheesey chips and beans looks delish! Mmmmm. I've only just eaten breakfast and I'm drooling over it. Hope it was as tasty as it looked. I love your pink tupperware and zebra bag, so cute. The others are right though; being organised is vital for SW. I find it is the times when I don't take lunch with me to work that I get more tempted because then I go into a food shop and I see the cakes, rolls, crisps, chocolate etc and get tempted. I have stacks of fruit with me at work and recently I've been keeping low syn crisps and chocolate too so that I can have my syns and not feel deprived.

What have you got to eat today? I love magic porridge. I have been doing it with the coconut muller yogs which are lovely, although I may try it with the mango and passionfruit one (which has 1 syn I think) because I just had one of those and it was YUM!

Good luck for today and keep posting your yummy food photos
x

What is this magic porridge? Everyone is talking about it!!!

Have a good day Nicki :) xx

Magic porridge is where you put your porridge oats in yogurt and let them soak over night. In the morning it's thick and creamy and yummy! It is for when you don't have time to make porridge or dont want to use your HEXA. Try it!

Morning nicki, you sound in the right frame of mind by preparing your food you have prepared your mind! Good luck today!

 to cheesy chips

Hi Bestie!

How was the magic porridge hun? I need to get some oats and then I'm going to try it. I love the new coconut mullerlights so I think that's the one to do it with :)

Have a cracking day hun, keep that motivation going! This is YOUR time bestie xx

Evening all, blimey lots of posts to reply to so here goes

Bestie - Your are my bestie buuut i'm still not sharing cheesy chips and beans because they is yummy and all mine! Still loves ya though! oh and i think you're also a smarty pants because today i feel like Mrs head in the right frame of mind.

Jackie - I've never made a sw quiche before, i don't like veggies so mine tend to be quiche lorraine but might have a go. Need something to munch on in the afternoons and that might just fit the bill

Laura- They were lush, how was your magic porridge?

Bex - I'm trying to be prepared

Gail - I know what you mean about work, by the time i've got home and made/eaten dinner its time for bed. I'm going to plan everything from now on, seems like the way to go, luckily when i'm at work my breaks are always the same which is good for me. I learnt today that i need something substantial in the afternoon because my lunch break is at 11.30 and i get home about 6pm so today i was starvin marvin by about 3pm. Good idea about the more syns, a few years back when i went to group the consultant told me to have between 25-30syns a day because when i hit a wall i could reduce them, i did lose a fair bit too so might start doing that again. Err where did you stumble across cinnabons because i wants some :D

Penny - They were delish, might have it again tomorrow :D I have a coconut muller in my fridge so hope its nice, someone said they taste like Bounty bar and that sounds like heaven.

Shenzi - Thank you hun

Jackie - I've never made a sw quiche before, i don't like veggies so mine tend to be quiche lorraine but might have a go.

Thanks for checking up on me today, its been a pretty good day in the world of Nicki, sat with a group of boys at work that crack me up so was laughing most of the day oh and i had another lush tea

SDC11223-1.jpg

That, my friends, is a butt load of mash potato with cheese. Isn't funny how a big plate of starch makes everything right in the world. Confession it prob has a lot more clover lighter in it then it should but i did weigh my cheese out to hexa proportions.
I didn't really like my magic porridge, i made it with vanilla muller which i don't really like, its a bit tangy for me so prob should have used a different flavour, might try the coconut one tonight.

So as requested by Dawn, todays food was
Magic porridge Hexb
ham Hexb
coleslaw
cucumber
banana
apple
Freddo (one of the boys bought it for me, was rude not to eat it but least it was mini)
Mash potato
Cheese HEXA x2
Clover
and my proudest acheivement 1 yes 1 bottle of Coke zero. This is pretty impressive considering over the last 3 months i've been drink upto 3liters of full fat stuff a DAY. Had to have 1 bottle because i had such a bad headache from caffine withdrawal.

Right i have just enough time to have a bath and paint my nails before bed

Well done Nicki :D that looks like a pretty good day :)

I make my quiche with bacon as don't do veggie quiche (yak)

Have to say I was not a fruit of veggie person before I started sw but gradually I am trying more and more and have been amazed how many I rather like now :eek: Before I was lucky if I ate 1 of my 5 a day now I exceed this most days

A plate of carbs is good and definately hits the spot :)

Sounds like you had a good day at work too :)

Well done on the coke, way to go girl :talk017:

Do you know just changing your coke drinking habits will make a huge different in the weight loss dept :) proud of you :) xxxxx

Well done on a good day. I would still recommend counting your syns because then if you can stick to your preset limit then you can feel really good about sticking to whatever limit you set for yourself but be realistic about what you can stick to.

Great stuff and keep it up.

Gail x

P.S. I read a really good quote somewhere something along the lines of if you're a musician practicing a piece and you make a mistake, you don't give up and think I can't do this, you keep practicing until you can get it right so why do that on an eating plan. I liked that :)

Hey!!!

Who stole my bestie and left this confident, organised, happy young woman in her place???

OMG!!! I'm so proud of you Nicki!!! What an absolutely fantastic start you've made!!! I'm loving it!!! :happy036:

Your post has really lifted me! It's so great to have the old bestie back :hug99: Reading about you planning ahead, weighing hex's, switching to coke zero, trying new recipes/food, writing your food down...you are SO in the right place now it's UNREAL!!! :woohoo:

But by far, the best sentence for me was when you wrote "
its been a pretty good day in the world of Nicki, sat with a group of boys at work that crack me up so was laughing most of the day" You just sound so much happier today hun. xx

Now all we need to do is keep this going! The ladies on here have all said some brilliant things and given you loads of good advice. I'm sure you're going to crack it this time...got a feeling in me water!!!

Enjoy a nice relaxing evening bestie, you deserve it xxx

I was about to say the same as Jackie - just by cutting out the coke, I think you will see a big difference. You sound like you are getting your motivation back, and Gail gave some good advice to up your syns to a comfortable level, try not to restrict yourself too much to begin with or you might find it more difficult.

I enoyed my magic porridge today - I had it with a mandarin Muller, and it was tasty. I added in some more fruit to make up my superfree and to bulk it out a bit - 28g of porridge really isn't much is it?!

I tried the coconut Muller on its own yesterday and quite enjoyed it. I'm not really into coconut, and would never really appreciate a Bounty bar, but it was quite quite tasty, despite reminding me of suntan lotion!!! xxx
