Nikki's Operation Slim Diary

Hello everyone,

Well I've been browsing the page for a while and thought I would start up my own diary so that I could share what I'm eating and people could help me point out if I'm doing anything wrong or share any tips or hints.

A bit about me....I've been dieting on and off since 2007...I took a break between 08-09 as I had my little boy but always been in and out and have always followed the old weightwatchers plan at home....At my heaviest i was nearly 24 stone...and a size 26-28, ive manage to get down to 16st and a size 16-18 now and still have a long way to go....my first goal is 14 stone but will then reassess once I get there. :) I managed to loose a big chunk of the weight between 2010-11 for our wedding and we got married in May 2011 and I was the smallest I had been and my dress was taken in from a 24-20 which was a great moment. I then went on to loose another 2 stone and that is where it stopped...until this year when I kept taking two steps forward and 3 back and it just didnt seem to work anymore, so I grabbed two friends and we headed off to slimming world. This is my second week and I WI on Thursday. My first WI was fantastic with a 6.5lb loss which is the biggest loss I have ever had to date. :) finally something I starting to work for me again! :) I'm following the Extra Easy plan and so far really enjoying actually feeling full something I haven't experienced for such a long time :)

I shall start from tomorrow with my diary and hope to keep it up as writing it down really helps to keep me on track.

Nikki xx

That's a great story, having to have your dress taken in. You sound very determined and I agree, it is nice to feel full. Well done on such a big loss, 6 1/2 lbs is brilliant. Good luck with the rest of the plan, I look forward to following how you are doing.

Wow you're organised with your christmas shopping. Mine's usually left until the week before, lol. Though guess you can't do that with a little one. Are you nervous about hus first day at big school? Hope it goes well!

So how are you finding SW have you been doing it long?

Xx
I first tried SW ages ago, didn't really lose on it (or more lost & put on the same few pounds over & over) - that of course was due to not sticking to plan properly, lol.

I have tried soooo many diets & my problem is although at times I can be super good & even stick to fairly strict diets (except shakes, which I've never tried! Love food too much, lol) on a fairly regular basis I have to have a splurge. This could be due a night out - I just don't enjoy going to a restaurant anywhere near as much if I order the 'healthy' option or if I don't have at least 1/2 a bottle of wine & a couple of post-dinner drinks. I know this is just due to my attitude / way of thinking but I'm not sure it's something I'll ever change. I also have a tendency to binge now & then :(

So I'm now doing a kind of SW / 5:2 combo, with my hope being that the low cal days will compensate for going over syns on the SW days.

Sorry for the long post on your diary! I also have a tendancy to ramble a bit, lol.

Hehe ramble away I love to hear other people's stories.

I'm the same but I also think however much I need to lose weight I don't want a diet to end up ruling my life and I think SW seems to fit in better than anything else I've tried. It means I can still socialise with people and enjoy myself and cause you can have so many carbs I don't feel like its so bad.

How does the SW/5:2 combo work I've never heard of it?! Xx

Woo hoo! Yay to being 100%! It certainly seems to have off, thats a fab loss so far :)

I think the 5:2 / SW combo is slightly made up! So not sure how common it is. I basically try & fast (well stick to 500 kcal) 2 days a week & follow SW the rest. I like it because it's so much more forgiving if you go overs syns a couole of days a week. I don't find the fast days too hard as I've never been much of a breakfast eater so have a mid afternoon snak & a proper evening meal. Sometimes I'll have 700-800 kcal if I'm feeling hungry, but generally aim for 500 kcal. I've been getting losses of about 1.5 lb / week (which for me is by far the highest out of all diets I've tried!) & that's with going over my weekly syns.

Have a gd weekend - I'm so glad it's Friday! :)

My Grandson started big school on Wed too. He lives an hour away but I was sent a photo. Emotional.

Afternoon Nikki. Food looking good. Your brunch sound really lovely. I keep meaning to try those sausages but forget when I get to supermarket. Must put a note on my fone for the next time I go shopping.

My grandson has settled very well in "big school" . He has an older sister in this school who he sees at playtime, I think that may have helped. Can`t wait to see him so he can tell me all about it.
