NSVs - Non Scale Victories

Can finally wear my wedding ring! I had to wear a cheap substitute on my wedding day as the ring we'd ordered didn't fit as i'd put on so much weight! This was nearly 3 years ago - and this is the first time i've been able to wear my proper one without it almost cutting off the circulation! YAY!

I got beeped at by some men in a van! :D (Normally I would hate this, but, just this once I'll celebrate it!!!)

Well I finally took the plunge (excuse the pun! :giggle:) and went swimming this morning for the first time in 10 years!!!! I swam for just over an hour at a moderate pace - not bad considering I detest exercise! What I was most pleased about is that no-one gave me a second look, so even if they were thinking I was a bit of a porker nobody said it!

they don't really do bikes for people my size..
I'd love to go out riding.. :(
ah well I'll have to settle for walking a shorter distance in a longer time... ( it hurts to run at the moment, they don't do whole body jogging "bra's" to strap down all the jiggly bits.. :) )

I suppose I could get one custom made, but then I'd have to try and sell it on when I get lighter and can have a lighter bike..

I bought a kona hoss last year as they are a popular bike for people over 300 lbs. I love it and I had no problems

Sent from my HTC Desire using MiniMins

I am impressed Dudette! It takes me weeks to get up to swimming for that long!

I used to be a good swimmer when I was in school :) The good thing about swimming is that it doesn't feel like exercise, lol! :D

Fab NSV! :D:D Would you be able to use your PGCE and your postgraduate certificate? If so you'd only need another 60 credits for the Masters! If you did it with the OU you'd have to do E891 - Educational Enquiry :) xx

I wore a new top to work today and one of my colleagues commented on how the top showed off my weight loss.

I felt so proud, just a shame it was cold in the office and I had to put my cardi on!!

My main worry is getting a job for september im rubbish at these cover letters :( xx

Awww, I'm sure you'll get one hun! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :) You need 180 credits for a Masters, and you'll prob have the full 60 from your postgrad certificate. So you may have to do 2 courses (as most are usually 60 credits) to make up the 180 if the PGCE is 30 or 40 credits :) Which subject are you doing your PGCE in? xx

Im right in thinking one module and then a research/ dissertation to get my masters then :/ lol! Im doing my pgce in primary specialising in lower (3-7 year olds) i love it but the course is so intense! Im over the worst now my diss is done just got to keep on top of plannin on teaching practice and tie up the odd file for uni so nearly there now 5 straight years at uni ive never been out of education i just want to be in the classroom now doing what i love! But its so bloody competitive :( xx

I know! I'm a secondary school teacher teaching Chemistry (supposedly a shortage subject!) but there's still a lot of competition for jobs :( Fair play to you though, I couldn't cope with primary school, lol! Good luck with the job hunt hun :) xx

Fantastic NSV for me - it is my birthday and I went out shopping with my mum this morning, I found a lovely dress in Monsoon and they didn't have a 14 so I tried on the 12 to see how far off it was fitting and.... It fitted! And it's a non-stretchy fabric! So now it is mine! I am a size 12 on my birthday*! I can't believe it!

*probably won't be for long because I've just had a lovely lunch with champagne and I have cake at home....
