NSVs - Non Scale Victories

Sorry in advance if this grosses ye out a bit, but I had (for me) a major NSV today. For the first time since my son was born I can see the c-section scar without having to lift my roll of flab out of the way! He's nearly 2, and instead of losing the baby weight I went from bigger to bigger, but now I must be going from big to less big! Yay me :D

Well done you!!! I still can't breathe the mummy tummy out the way. I'm praying my cons will take pity on me and remove some excess skin. I would love to hear from any one who has had this done. Op is 13th july for my hernia repair. But i
Will probably lose my tummy button :(

They usually sow the tummy button back in. Unfortunately, you can't guarantee it'll be were it should be :D If you talk to your specialist asap they may do something for you re the skin. It can't ask to hurt. The worse they'll do is say 'no'. :)

Slip the surgeon a twenty and say "while you've got me open would you mind taking a bit off for me? " ;)

I have thought about it! Pp the removal of the tummy button is almost a guarrntee given it's an unbilical hernia, just over 4 fingers wide and the same top to bottom. Sticks right out all the time so makes me look 5 months pregnant. Grrrrr! I am tempted to go to my pre op and say the cons said it was a possibility, there would be less to sew up then! I can't recall having a flat tummy actually. Prob did as a kid. Nervous as hell as i only have 2 weeks till my pre op and 4 weeks till surgery. Aye aye aaaaayeeeee!

It's not just a case if sewing up, there are blood vessels etc to think about and if you cut some out it doesn't always go back together right.

I actually didn't think of that...

I saw some family friends the other day, the last time they saw me was half way through my weight loss. They both said they would of walked straight passed me if I hadn't called them over! Followed by comments on how slim I was. Comments that make the journey of losing weight even more worth while! :)
Blimey, I'm not surprised, you're nearly half the woman you used to be!!!

Well done everyone, I love this thread
My NSV might not seem a lot and is a little odd but my knickers fall down ha ha best go buy some more

Ouch! ok, now my eyes are watering :)

I didn't think about all that's involved in removing and replacing, I just know that mine is now too far up and over to the left. It's also now slightly triangular :D

I had something similar happen to me yesterday. One of my work mates I ain't seen in ages walked right past me in work, he then did a double take and called over to me lol I was so chuffed :)

Well I went out with the dog in the rain for a walk....put on my waterproof which I have had for about 12 yrs and I didnt have to unzip from the bottom to be able to walk! :D ACE!!

I wanted to buy some new cropped trousers, but hubby was moaning "you've got plenty, go & sort out your wardrobe"! So off I duly went & brought all 50!!!!!!!! pairs of trousers/jeans/cargo pants/crops/shorts I have hoarded over the years downstairs & tried them all on.......epic & shocking! I now realise I dont need to buy any new jeans etc, as having hoarded over the years, I have sizes ranging from 10 - 14 & all the 12's & 14's are now bagged away & I have enough crops & jeans to last another lifetime.....thank goodness they dont really go out of fashion.....my darling husband has just saved me a fortune & I've seen jeans I havent seen in years!!!

Know the feeling! I started on mine on Monday and have about 20 pairs of size 20 trousers that hang off me. And that was from just one wardrobe. I've still got another 3 to go.

I'm just waiting until one of those charity bags come round so I can rid myself of about 7 pairs of jeans and trousers that are now too big.

Isn't it the best feeling in the world when you sort out your wardrobe & clothes are toooooo big! It wasn't so long ago I was always nearly in tears coz I had nothing to wear as everything was too tight & felt horrible & blobby!

My parents bought me a lovely skirt suit a couple of years ago for my birthday as I was going to meet the Queen & Prince Philip!........Im now having to take it to a seamstress to take in as I want to wear it for another posh doo! May sound a bit odd, but it was probably the last thing my dad bought for me before he passed away, so I really want to wear it again.......will probably cost more to have it altered than it would to buy a new outfit!!!

Believe me it's daunting the thought of it, but boy oh boy its so satisfying when you see that pile of clothes you're going to get rid of coz they're too big.....go for it, very cleansing!!! :D
