NSVs - Non Scale Victories

Usually get weighed at 7pm but since I was childless I thought I'd go at 10am-bumped into 2 old workmates-1 from 2-3 years ago and 1 from 8+ years ago and neither recognised me :) shows how long I'd been carrying the extra weight around xx

What a gorgeous feeling honey! Well done xxx

i've got this week off work, so i decided to pop the gym this morning, i heard it would be pretty empty (which it was). So one day (session) a month i go the gym and i do a 'long run'.. started doing 5K's then decided to up that by 2.5K's every month. see if i can push myself.. my last session was 10K and did it in 61mins 28 secs. so this time it should have been 12.5K.. i did the 10K in 58 mins (something seconds) and when i got to 12.5 i still felt good and decided to go for 15K.. 2hrs 12mins and 22 secs later i got off the treadmill having ran.. a half marathon :D OMG!!!

<img src="http://www.minimins.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=45913"/>

besides the weight i have lost, i think this is the most proud i have ever felt before :) x

Outstanding.
22.5k is almost 14 miles. Wow.

Wish I could run.
I tried the c25k and couldn't even do day 1 with the 60 second runs. :(

Just keep repeating week 1 until you feel ready to move on to week 2. Its amazing how quickly you improve!

i've been going the gym for nearly 10 months now, but when i started i couldn't do 1K, i was alwas out of breath. it's taken a long time working up to that.. i was only going to do 12.5, but i was watching this morning and a section about gadgets and jeremy kyle was on for a bit and i wanted to see if this stupid woman would kick her boyfriend out.. so i just kept going, saying to myself just another 1K, just one more, by the time i was knackered i was at 22K and i thought just go to the half.. knackered now, no idea how people do that, and for fun :( lol

i wont be doing one for a long time, but it is an amazing feeling, maybe one day i'll do it outside for real.. maybe a full marathon one day.. have to wait and see :)

They might be a bit tight and snug but by God does this feel good :)

Thanks Chelle :) How are you beauts?? You still at class xxx

I'm claiming one ( or several ) on behalf of a woman at our group.

She was born with something wring with her hip meaning it keeps dislocating ( up to 30 times a day she says. !!! )..
This means that she has to pop it back in herself.
The only way she could do this before losing the weight was to lie on the floor and do it, something that she obviously found embarrassing and degrading.
She can now pop it back in standing up. !! :)

Another effect of the hip thing meant that she has to have an procedure on it every so often.
It's called something like manipulation under anaesthetic or something where they manipulate her joint and give her injections to re-align her hip.
With the weight and extra strain on her joint, this was only lasting about 3 months before she was in agony and had to have it done again.
They told her that they were limiting her to two procedures a year ( not sure why, some medical reason rather than financial. ).
With the weight loss and increased strength in her muscles round her hip ( she took up walking and endured the pain to do it ), she can now go 6-7 months between procedures.

She said she was a 20/16 and is now a 10/8.. Whatever that means.
Presumably 20 tops and 16 skirt/ trousers etc down to a 10 top and 8 bottoms?

The "Black widow" said I'd lost loads of weight and asked how I did it.

( the "Black widow" is the company HR lady and is only seen when there is bad news about. The last time she saw me was in 2009 when she handed me my redundancy letter and final cheque. Guess why she's been on the shop floor this week? 16 redundancies. Not me this time, I'm agency. :) )

Wow Col Jack, been AWOL and just seen your new pic. Absolutely amazing!!! Well done you xx

Yes babe was doing well but had a bit of trouble from the ex sister in law at the weekend and did the emotional eating thingy... Back on track feeling good and mad at myself for letting other people get in the way of my goal... I can't say it won't happen again but so long as I own the problem and deal with it I will be ok... Nice to see you back and please if you need any help with not going to class give me a yell... xx

Someone at work brought in a picture of me taken last year at a hen night - a horrible fat picture - and all of a sudden all these random people are coming up to me at work and commenting on my weight loss. Not too sure I fell 100% comfortable with it, but I'll try and take them as compliments.

Haven't been able to post in here for the longest time. I struggled for what seemed forever. But I finally, finally got out of the 15s (been stuck in there since Xmas!).
Someone put a wall in my way, but I beat at it til it fell down instead of just giving up like I usually would. I think that's a good NSV!

14's from all over the place FIT ME!

You know what I mean - usually its only 14's from here or there but not that shop but I now have a range from quite a few places :-D

I got another dress in a size 14 (says 10 on the label but it is a philapines import haha) and this one fits PERFECTLY. I was literally crying in the dressing room I was so happy, I am just so used to dresses not fitting properly and being a size 18/20. I took a pic of me in in it when I got home and compared it to me at my biggest (picture of my in my prom attire in 2005), I don't even recognise myself anymore, the other 50lb heavier girl just isn't me anymore, and it feels good, cos I hated that girl, she had no confidence, hated how she looked, was pretty shy and just hated everything.
