NSVs - Non Scale Victories

Gazter, I've never seen any pictures up of you, do you have any before/after(or during if you're not finished yet!)

I'll just switch on the macbook, give the hamsters a few minutes to get themselves spinning the wheel, i'll post some up.

One taken in about June last year, for the opening of new gallery i was responsible for in Carlisle, and the other one taken a few weeks ago in Spitalfields. I put a small amount of weigh on between then and me joining slimming world in march this year.

36, just gone...

In the past I always had a baby face that made me look younger, but it seems a fat face as you get into your thirties makes you look a lot older...

I think so too.......... Only your first picture loaded up on my iPhone initially and I just presumed you were in your 50's, but the second pic loading is what made me ask as you look sooooo much younger!

Huge well done! xx

Oh god, i know its a compliment. Uhm, so when people were saying i look ten years younger, they arent saying i look like i am in my mid to late twenties, they are saying i dont look like I am in my mid to late forties any more.

They don't necessarily see you as the age I did - I've seen one static picture don't forget! Not the real you and not face to face!

I hope my comment didn't offend. Certainly not my intention but I wanted to explain to you what a huge difference I had noticed between the two pics and just my very first thoughts When the pics loaded! x it really is a wow comparison! X

a few from me..

1,
last night my cousin and uncle came over as my cousin wanted some help doing something on her laptop. we keep in touch over facebook etc.. but haven't actually seen each other for a year and a half (or so). there is a knock on the door and i answer my usual way, standing behind the door, head poking around the door and let them in, tell them to go thru into the living room, as i walk behind them. when we walk into the room my uncle turns to me and says 'how's it going skinny' (a nickname he's called me since the weight loss was first noticable) .. my cousin turns around and her jaw drops ''oh my god where have you gone'' she's asking how much had i lost, how long, how i've done it etc.. she asks me if i am 'done' , and i say i have a few more to go. according to her i don't need to lose anything more, i look amazing... the biggest compliment was she said i was thinner then my other cousin (he brother) as he has always been the fittest and most outdoors out of all of us in the family. think i had a 'inside' grin all night :D

2,
my former neighbour (moved out 3 months ago) was over this morning picking up the last of her post, and she was saying how great i looked.. and that she is thinking of getting fit again by joining a group/club

3,
i bought a new shirt for a family party (not had a new one in a year), and i've lost 3 inches off my neck

no nsv's for ages and 3 in a weekend :D amazing :p

I saw a friend today that I met through work 4 years ago, about 11 months ago she had a gastric band fitted privately and paid £7 000 - yes seven thousand pounds for it-. I have not seen her since about February and she just went by me on the street! I called her thinking what the... and when I went over she just said OMG I did not recognized you! you look fantastic :D I have lost more weight than she did with her surgery :D

In defence of people who have or will have surgery I would just like to say they are braver than me as I don't think its an easy decision to make. It alters the way of eating for life and you still need to work at losing the weight as I understand it its not a magic wand.
