NSV's - Non Scale Victories

Cherry-Blossom

I CAN do this
An idea I like from the Slimming World forum.

Basically use this thread to post what you are feeling proud of that day. It can't be scales related but can be diet or general life related.

Doing this journey we have to remember not everything is scales related and it's those little things that keep up boosted on our day to day journey.

Might as well start off with one of my own.

I went to the shop today for some milk and they had a load of french bread on offer. Now french bread is once of my major major vices and the smell was just wafting towards me and telling me to eat the bread. However, I turned around and resisted and it made me really happy :)

A couple today

1. Going to IKEA and resisting the meatballs. I took my bar in my pocket with me instead :)
2. This one is kind of scale related - but it's looking FORWARD to my weigh in and not worrying about how good/bad I've been this week and how it shows up on the scales. My heads in the game and that's the important bit.

I've been to Ikea and sat through the OH eating meatballs while I had a bar (although not today). Feels like quite a triumph doesn't it :)

I took the time to sit down today with my 5 year old and we did some jigsaw puzzles together , I listened to him read and we made a glow in the dark mobile together

I dont do stuff like that enough and I should do it more because it makes him really happy

Aww thats really cute x

Ive got one! Just got top delivered from next size 20 and its massive! Yey and boo hassle taking it back lol

Had a nightmare day today starting with lectures. Over 2 hours on digestion, hour on bleeding in pregnancy, another 45 minutes on digestion, 15 minute 'lunch' break, hour on the central nervous system, hour on the mental capacity act and an hour on anti discrimination policy. God I'm pooped! Plus after the lunch break the room was full of people eating chips. And they smelled so goooooood.

Got home and found out that the ipad I ordered had gone back to the Royal Mail collection point on the other side of town instead of being left with the reception as normal. Drove all the way over there in rush hour to be told it's not ready to pick up. Got home and realised the S&S order I got today is minus 18 strawberry shakes. Then got told that the people I wanted to live with next year are going to stay together as a flat leaving me on my tod.

Oh and the whole Royal Mail thing means I'm going to have to get up an hour earlier to drive there tomorrow morning, in rush hour, to pick up my parcel before having my car at the garage for 9am. Then because I'll have the parcel I'll have to walk back to mine to drop it off before I can get the bus to the gym.

I have had such a fun day!! I think my NSV is making it through today.

Crikey Cherry , bad day , glad you made it through and still kept your sense of humour !

I had my MOT yesterday , well my car did , was dreading it , have had all kinds of unexpected very large bills lately which are seriously stretching my non existent bank balance , anyway it needed one bulb , £10 , phew what a relief .

I also ordered a contract phone yesterday , my first , Ive always been against them and have pay as you go but my friend sent me this link from top cashback and I found I could pa just £10 per month, get a free phone , £50 cashback from top cashback and £95 cashback from the phone company , Id be stupid not to

so I will shortly be joining the world of posh phones that you can actually get the internet on , rather than my £15 phone from Tesco which doesnt even take pictures ....excited much !!!

My working week ends today and I turned down an invite to chill out with my colleagues.
I really wanted to go cos they're great fun and it'd be nice to have adult company rather than spend the evening in my usual way with my kids.
But from a previous outing, I know it'll be an issue if I don't join in with drinks and food.

Wouldn't it be great if food just wasn't such a feature of most socialising!!!!

Kikikikiki, imagine a S&S social evening with all of us on the forum, sitting around someone's lounge chewing bars, sipping shakes and nibbling on wafers...:D

Ok just a small one for me. Had to get fuel and the cheapest place didn't have pay at pump so had to go inside and really wanted a chocolate bar but resisted and got a mini torch instead!

But did you eat the mini torch Chuffy? :)

I managed an hour on the treadmill plus 10 minutes on the rowing machine :D

Tried on my Size 18 jeans that I bought in the Dec/Jan sales. Couldn't get them past my hips but tonight they fitted, I could do the button, zip them up and sit down comfortably...woohoooo :)

I had a clothes sort out today lots of stuff still too small, ready for the next few months, but a pair of next size doen jeans fitted nicely :)

Yey just tried on a size 18 pair of jeans that i had from way before wedding (was size 14 then) n they fit! Yey didnt expect that, so have 2 pairs in size 18 that fit, going to wear em to visit in laws later. Also wearing size 16 jumper, as its a jumper it is a bit looser than a norm 16 tho lol but still fits! X
