O/T Some people make me so...AAARRRGGGHHH

I live on a street where there is no off street parking so it's very important (to me anyway) that I park in a conciderate manner for my neighbours.
I've just got home from my weekly weigh in to be confronted with a a Smart car parked outside my house...not to bad you'd think, it's only a Smart car after all!
This car was parked right in the middle of a space that was big enough to park a double decker bus in and meant that there wasn't enough space infront or behind it for anyone else (who doesn't own a Smart car:rolleyes:) to park!!!!:mad::mad::mad: My OH has been here the whole time and says no one else was parked there to make them park like that. He knew I'd be furious about it when I got in, that would be an under statement!!!:mad::mad::mad:
Why do people do it:confused:??? Why buy a Smart car (designed for parking in small spaces I thought???:rolleyes:) then park in such an idiotic and to be honest completely selfish manner!!!!:mad::mad::mad:
Sorry about ranting but I really am concerned that someone driving such a small car can park it so badly, what must their actual driving be like! Is it wrong that I've now put a letter on their windscreen stating that fact (ok I didn't put it that politely I must be honest:p!)???
 
Completely sympathise. We live on what the estate agents like to call a 'walkway location' (eg a path) so have to park at the end of the nearest cul de sac. Which causes its own problems, as people who live there get cross with us 'walkway-ites' parking there. Where am I supposed to park?! There are seven slots (if people park properly) but so often some inconsiderate twat will park across two...people park everywhere, one woman in particular just has no concept of having to park considerately! Grrrrrrr.
 
Yer, I hate people who can't park it really annoys me too!

I have a private parking space which I paid £3000 for a I still find people in my space when I come back from work, eventhough it clearly says 'PRIVATE'! I just park in front of them, and when they come a knock my door they make out that i've inconvenienced them....eventhough they parked in MY space. Idiots! xxx
 
I feel your pain hun!! Some people really don't give a second thought about other people.

I regularly get blocked in on my driveway and the neighbours think I'm out of order when I ask them to move their car when I'm on my way to work at 6.45am - maybe they'll stop doing it soon!!

I'd charge them the same rates as a car park before you let them out, you paid for the space so why shouldn't they!:D
 
Could you put up a sign to say that you will wheel clamp them if they park there? Some of the wheel clamping companies make fortunes (not that I endorse that sort of thing, but when it's clearly a private space that's just not on at all!)
 
Smart car? Rollit out of the way ;)

But yeah, my house has a parking layby outside it, our driveway crosses the edge of it and fskwits are forever parking across our drive, blocking entry/exit... It's a pain because you have to start knocking on doors. I know which house to go to first though... If it's a case of a mercy dash to the hopsital (hopes this is never needed) then screw the car parked across the drive, I'm going straight through it!

Because they are a fashion car and are bought by people who are more into their image than driving properly?
 
I've discovered an escort estate is quite good at shoving things out of the way, but a Corsa isn't - crumpled like tin foil.

Yes, husband had ANOTHER accident.
 
Oh I miss my Escort. It was an ex-police car and was built like a tank but ran like a forumla one car (ok not quite but you get the idea!:D).
 
ooh this drives me mad too. I have a parking dilemma - wonder if you guys can advise?

My street has recently been made parking permit only and we have to fork out for a family permit and a visitors permit to park on our street now. The people with drive ways are okay if they've had their kerbs let down (I'm sure they charged them for that too!).

One neighbour has a garage he uses for storage only but hasn't got a drive to it or had the kerbs dropped so outside this garage (on the road part) it is permit parking. There's loads of room to access the garage still. So cars park, quite rightly and legally in front of the garage because they've paid to.

Anyway...if anyone on the street parks here he comes to their houses and knocks on the door demanding people mpve their cars because he likes room to load equipment from his car to this garage. He is rather um insistant and knocks at all hours including very late at night.

Who's right or wrong? I'm at a loss. I parked there once and he was rather intimidating and I wasn't best pleased to be got out the bath, in my towel at 11.30 at night! I hven't parked there since and do understand his frustration at the council making the road permit parking but don't think its fair that he prevents people who are paying and should be able to park there from their rights...

Would love the answer to this one!
 
If he has not paid to have the curb dropped there is not offical access therefore he has absolutely no right to ask anyone to move. If he wants people to move then he needs to pay for the curb to be dropped. I would actually go as far as saying I would check to see if he had planning permission for the garage as councils would normally insist that they have the curb dropped as a condition of the planning permission. Give them a call.;)
 
That's my inner thought too. Feel cross that we're paying and he's doing what he wants - just seems unfair! But at same time not really up for neighbour wars...

But then again...I work 13 hr shifts and get up at 5.30am... so hate to have to park miles away when getting home or getting up in the dark or small hours. Just makes me even grumpier...esp when that sodding space is still free!! I think he's a mobile dj so wants the space to move equipment.
 
drove me barmy at our last house they were wide houses so there was pleanty of space but one of the neighbours had a car then her son had a car and a van which they always took up the space in fron of our house, my sons disabled and spoke to them about it that we needed to be able to park close to our house but still it carried on some people are just very sellfish and think the world evolves around them
