Hiya Lily, Nelli, I remember you guys!! Thanks for joining me on my little thread
nice to see so many familiar faces in here! Makes me feel like I'm not alone in this.
Katie, I couldn't drink wine, it would be the end of my diet lol, I get the munchies when I drink and I am avoiding the munchies as far as possible! A low carb "damage limitation" option is about as far as I'll go. But generally I am trying to avoid food altogether, and anything that's banned. I felt quite guilty towards myself for eating the cheese the other night but at the same time I was pleased that I was sensible and didn't do any damage to my diet when I so easily could have.
That said, it's update time...
I went to Ikea yesterday. Had a shake in the morning, then met my friend in town. After 3 hours I was so thirsty, and my friend was hungry so we stopped for lunch in the restaurant. She had meatballs and as I didn't want her to know about my diet I opted for the same WITHOUT the potatoes and with only a teeny bit of gravy, served with peas (rather than meatballs and chips smothered in gravy as she did!), with a coffee to drink. I don't know what the content of the meatballs was but don't think it knocked me out of ketosis so it must be ok. Had the small portion so as to limit any damage.
We then spent a further 4 hours in town- 7 hours of walking about, my legs and feet were killing me! Reckon I earnt my lunch
In the evening I had the girls over for a night of girly chat and it was lovely. I bought a pack of biscuits for them which they demolished, and one girl brought some salt and vinegar chipsticks to share which they also demolished. (they are my fave crisps!
) I was so pleased with myself for not even being tempted, it was no effort to ignore the snacks and nobody noticed
During my shopping trip yesterday I bought an espresso machine. Also picked up some latte and espresso glasses, a milk frother jug and thermometer, and some nice coffee, syrups and choc springles. Got it all home and was so excited! However, although the machine worked fine when I tested it, an hour later when I went to make coffee for my friends it leaked everywhere and was clearly faulty. So today I took it back and got a refund. Then bought a different one which my friend has and I know it's good value, also know how to use it already so that's a bonus.
I got my new machine home and it worked fine first time, so easy to use. Had some friends round for the afternoon and we enjoyed lattes together
I felt like I had enjoyed a real treat (didn't have the syrup) and realised that I can replace food with coffee for the time being (it takes a little while to make and then to enjoy so it "fills the gap" where I'd normally be preparing and eating dinner!).
Have decided to have a daily latte at "dinner" time as I found it very filling and am so pleased with my purchase
my new favourite toy.
Spent the afternoon chatting and playing Wii Monopoly, I brought some quality street chocs out for my friends and avoided them easily, also turning down jam donuts which they'd brought with them. I actually told the 2 of them about being on the diet as I trusted them to be supportive, and they were (these 2 are the loveliest girls I've ever met and I would have been shocked if they'd reacted badly!).
In reflection on this weekend, when I have eaten it has only been as a means of damage limitation whilst attempting to avoid discussing the diet with people, but actually I did not really WANT the food and it came home to me this afternoon when the choccies came out that actually I am really "in the zone" at the moment and this makes me feel quite encouraged!
Back to work tomorrow then WI on Tues. Blimey, just realised I've now done a week of SS+! Forgot I started on Monday!! Wonder what I've lost.... trying to not weigh again til Tues but tomorrow may see a sneaky peak on the scales, am too excited to wait!
Hubby back briefly tonight before going away for another 5 days. He walked in and said "hey skinny" - he is a flatterer but he wouldn't have said that if he hadn't noticed the change in my shape. He and my friends have all commented that my face, neck and belly have changed and I look better already - it's so encouraging when you know you've lost enough for people to notice! Now to keep it going
