    Hi,

I'm new to this site and have restarted LL today. Last year I lost 8 stone between August and December but had Christmas off and never went back on it! I regained all the weight and more besides. This year I'll definately be abstinent over Christmas. I have 1 year to transform myself for my graduation ball next year. Assuming I lose just over a stone a month I should be looking pretty good by then...though at times the amount I need to lose seems too great to think about. I need to lose about 15 stone in all and want to do this without having a gastric bypass. My mum has just had one done and is losing weight but it's a lot to have to go through and for me it would be my last resort. Besides I want to be in control of myself rather than have to rely on surgical restriction.

I thought that there were quite a few people restarting-maybe we could form a kind of group for motivation? I saw something similar in the other LL forum. What do you reckon?

Hi Fat2thingirl, I did LL last year and lost 7.5 stone. I stopped suddenly in December due to health problems and have regained 4 stone. Positive thinking tells me that at least I kept off some of the weight. I have attempted restarts a few times but failed but my frame of mind feels stronger this time and I am determined to succeed. I'm on day two today and feeling strong. I am happy to encourage and support you all the way. You know you can do this because you've done it before. It's easy if you tell yourself it's easy and if you do it the 100% way.

I too am returning on Thursday. I started LL in Feb and lost most of the weight then had to stop for personal reasons. I've probably gained about 10lbs back. I really want to lose another stone then try maintaining.

I didn't really take on board the counselling part last time. I have my book so perhaps I can read that.

My counsellor said I could either go to Maintenance classes or do a 4 week abstinence block - can't remeber what she called it.

Think I'll do the 4 week abstinence block.

    Anyone else doing this?

    Hi

    I restarted 2nd September - Day 16!

Previously lost 8 and a half stone (May 2005 to November 2005) and had a circumferential body lift (March 2006) but failed to learn enough lessons and have gained all but about 2 or 3 stone. Pleased that I have managed 16 days of complete abstinence and had intended to do 100 days and then a break and then start again in the new year. Having now heard about the week 12 'Milk thing' I may start management at week 12 and then take a view in the new year as to whether to go back into abstinence or not.

The reason I'm not going to stay abstinent beyond the 100 days this time is because we are having a very special Christmas in Florida this year and whilst I have done a fortnight in France and a week in Cornwall in abstinence last time round I don't want to do that this time. I am confident that I won't be ridiculous eating wise but I accept so soon out of abstinence I will be vunerable to weight gain but everyone else will be on a diet in january so I'm sure I can get back on the wagon!

Good luck to all the other September restarters out there:)

I just restarted again as I couldn't get into it. How are you all getting on now?
