People starting LL in March...

started Lighter life 24th March

Hi there I am a newbie who found this forum looking for recipes to make the LL packs a bit more varied, as I started LL on saturday 24th, and cant stop thinking about food (is it just me but are the sainsburys and marks and spencer food tv ads coming on like every 5 mins ? its driving me mad I have to look away!).

This forum is brilliant everyone is very friendly, I am sure it will be a great help just to know others are out ther stuggling too and that together we will WIN!. I have about 7 stones to lose so I guess I will be around for a while guys.
I was a bit nervous about joining in the thread as I had been told sometimes forums can be a bit .. you know ... everyone picking fights and being kinda smart and bitchy, but I guess that must be just skinny people! We of rounded proportions have got more important things to worry about (like hunger pangs, drinking all that water and a trillion trips to loo) and we know the real pain of being overweight too which hurts far more than thin people could ever know.
I guess when you are the butt of everyones jokes and jibes it makes you a nicer more understanding and forgiving person because everyone seems very supportive to each other.

Big thanks to Fuzzys Angel for the recipe for vanilla icecream which I had for my breakfast it was Yummy! I put it in a sundae glass and fooled myself it was a lovely creamy dessert (I may just be hallucinating though!)
Well, this is the start of day three and apart from serious hunger pangs and tummy rumbles so loud my family complained they had to turn the volume up on the telly for the last two days, I am feeling positive and quite well apart from a bit lightheaded last night. Anyone else had that? I have been managing the water 'Just about' so I am looking forward to next week when its supposed to get better.
I will get my son to help me fathom out how to put the lovely graphics and weight gauges you all use so that I can chart the journey in style.
Anyway bye for now and good luck everyone!

Hello all, I'm new too (been lurking for a few days tho ...) and I started LL on the 23rd(friday) so I'm feeling slightly hungry still (at least thats what I'm hoping the stomach cramps are) but have managed not to cheat at all. My bloke is sick of me going to the loo all the time and I'm getting better at managing to drink 4 litres or so. 2.5 down today - 1.5 to go!
And I have very happily had my first bar today - whew - its so good to actually have something to chew on. I've got 4 stone to lose so I'm really hoping that this works and that I am slim for summer!

well done soon be & wendy! Thats fab! Welcome Heaven & Charlie. Good to have you with us! I'm on day 5 & to be honest have found today quite hard & dreading going back to work tomorrow as the tiredness has really kicked in today! Just feel 100%, absolutely shattered! Managed to go to dentist & a couple of shops & spent an hour at the allotment but now home and thinking of having a snooze! Going to just go with it but I have a busy week in work so its going to be tough. When does the energy kick in? May go and search! Also finding water consumption hard when out and about. As always focussing on the end result...nt finding not eating that hard (& didnt murder anyone in Sain!) but the physical side effects are hard going! and yes heaven the tv adverts are very annoying! This diet really makes you realise how much food plays a part on advertising, socialising etc but I guess thats a good thing to realise how manipulated we are! M&S food such a rip off...can make the same for virtually nowt! Just planted some sweetcorn, toms and peppers! Looking forward to getting the bars and if they taste like cardboard it will match the feeling in my mouth!!

We are all doing so well :)
ISOM that cardboard feeling in the mouth-yep know what you mean,That has gone a bit this week and I think the bars help.Think it might have something to do with saliva(yuk I know)but the bars do make my mouth feel better

Welcome Charlie B and Heaven :wavey: :wavey:

I agree about the TV commercials and it was all I noticed for the first few days... everybody was eating, how dare the? :eat:

The grim feeling will pass and sometimes can help if a bit more water (if you can stand it) is consumed.

Just dream of a great weight loss on day 7. This diet, which no other diet has ever done for most of us provides a guarantee to succeed if we follow the rules! I was fed up of weighing myself even if I did follow that particular diets rule, but either not lost, or worst put on.

Keep going, and log in when you feel its getting a bit tuff. I often find I do this and realise I'd better get to bed, or must have another pack.

If you fancy eating something try making the crisps or a chicken stuffing recipe. They are my favourites at the moment. MMMMM, am dreaming of one for later!

Take care all

keep us posted

Well done Wendy on you pop in :scale:

Well done to SoonB and Wendy on your fantastic weight loss.

Welcome to Heaven and Charlie :wavey:

ISOM, I was really tired in my first week but have come right now, hopefully you will have your energy back soon.

welcome Heaven and Charlie. I am in week 4 and yes, it does get better. BTW one of the bars does taste like cardboard! I think you adapt though, during the first week I didn't think I would be able to stomach any of the foodpacks for long, but by week 2 they didn't taste as bad.

Hi everyone,:blahblah:
day 9 for me and i have felt as though my energy has come back at last!! no dizzies and no hunger just a bit fed up of just drinking and not eating, i may give them scrummy bars another go next week yuk!! lol :giggle:eek:r perhaps try the recipies for the food packs.
everyone is doing brill and this chat is the biggest lifeline for me, more so than the pop in (which i have tomorrow and the weekly meeting on friday)
i don't know about anyone else but i am trying to stop myself from getting on the scales about 4 times a day i may give them to a neighbour or something as it can't be good.i will post tomorrow when i have been to pop in, i always get worried that it's not working!! keep going

I know what you mean about the scales Angelxx - I am so badly in the habit of checking every morning in any case that I am considering asking my bloke to hide them in a high up kitchen cupboard so I can't get them! On the plus side, I lost 3lbs at my 4 days pop-in and I'm beginning to not feel so hungry. Whew.
Toffee bar was so sweet it made my teeth hurt but the fruit bar was much more palatable. I'm the only one in my group who liked all the soups and shakes - I'm quite relieved as I didn't think I would like most of them and the only one I am not fussed about is the raspberry one but I have found the addition of loads of ice and cold cold water makes it much more palatable.

Hi all, Im on day 12 and have finally had the energy boosting feeling, the poor dog is giving me the evil eye:mad: , hes been walked twice in one day, not like the usual twice a week! I lost 14lbs last week and am looking forward to my second weigh in. I am struggling to get the soups down this week, has anyone used just the shakes and bars and no soups for a week.

I'm new too!! started on the 7th...

Hi everybody.

I actually joined Minimins about a week ago but it took ages for the confirmation e-mail to come though so I couldn't say hi!!

Anyway, tomorrow is the start of my week 4 (group week 6, I started late) and I'm looking forward to the weigh in!? :p

I lost 19lbs in my first 2 weeks which I was extremely pleased with! :wow:

but I don't think it will be as good tomorrow although I'm hoping for about 4lbs.:)

I keep weighing myself at home and am seriously considering asking my partner to hide the bloody scales! :sigh:

The last few days were really hard for me though. I spent the whole time feeling either freezing cold, starving hungry, really miserable or all three!!! :raincloud:

What was all that about!?? I finally warmed up yesterday and the hunger pangs finished at the same time so if any of you suddenly start to feel like that, just stick with it and you'll get through it!! :fyi:

anyway, just thought I'd say hi. I look forward to getting to know you all beter! :wavey:

Hi everyone Im going for my second weigh in tonight can anyone tell me where to find the recipes for the packs please .
Mandy x.

I, too, am addicted to weighing myself! I must stop, it is so discouraging, i am at least 2lbs lighter in the morning and my weight hasn't changed for DAYS!!

HI

some of the recipies can be found in 'Unofficial Recipies with Foodpacks' Post started by Fuzzy Angels. As I look at the post its about 5 from the top of the listings.

Sorry I have no idea how to put a link into this thread, hope you find it

Hi brixtonjacks and welcome :wavey: congrats on the amazing first two week weight loss!

Hi Hopefilly, i'm off for my weigh in tonight too. Good Luck :) If you find the recipe list, try the crisps and poppadom they are great!

I have been on my scales more the last 3 weeks than i have in a whole year!!!! Although my scales are so terrible that if you lean forward you put on a stone and lean back you take off a stone... I think you all know where I am leaning LOL

Hi pepys..link for food pack recipes is here http://www.minimins.com/lighter-life-forum/6012-unofficial-recipes-food-packs.html
I tried making a muffin out of the rasp pack & it was AWFUL!! Yuck, Will get a couple of extra packs tomorrow at weigh in.
I weigh myself every morning & while I dont think this is particularly healthy its whats keeping me going at the moment! Being honest I'm really struggling. Not from now eating but from the physical side effects - finding it really hard to focus on anything and brain malfunction would be an understatement! Less tired today though which is good...
Thought it might be nice to introduce ourselves a bit! I'm 37 & live in Cardiff with my 4 cats. I work as an assistant team manager in an adoption team, a job which I love but is very busy! I want to loose 6 stone and am clinging on to the hope that I can stick his diet because its the only way I will!! Hve tried almost every other diet going like most I guess!! ANyway...enough about me!

Hi ISOM,

Back from weigh-in and counselling and lost 6lbs this week. :) Must be those psyllium husks working!!!!

AND our LLC got in a nurse tonight to do our blood pressure and heart rate checks. £5 so not too bad I thought.

My intro...I'm 32, live in London, orginally from New Zealand. Engaged to a British guy so staying here for awhile yet until I can drag him back to NZ ;) Planning on getting married summer 2008 if we can afford it as we want to buy a house this year. Enough about me...

How has everyone been going so far this week?

Hi,
I am 41 and a headteacher. I love everything about my life, except my weight and my lovelife! I am single but feel too much of a blob to start dating again. I am not sure how much I need to lose, to get to a healthy BMI it will be about 8 stone, but I will stop when I feel confident enough to take my daughter swimming. As soon as I start feeling more attractive I will get back into the dating game, 'cos I know that I don't need food when I am in love!!
I don't know about you, but I find I can't concentrate on too many things at once and I needed to get my career on track before I could start thinking about my weight.
I am just about to start week 5, the longest I have stuck to anything!!

 6lb!! :wow: well done Samantha.
