Personality???

#1
I remember a post on here when i first joined up after Christmas where someone asked about losing their personality the thinner they got - in essence losing the big bubbly personality............a good few people responded agreeing - but its had me thinking the past few weeks and I wondered if anyone felt the same as me??

I have gradually put weight on over the years, in particular after my two kids and I feel now, after thinking about it, that the weight creeping on has smothered my personality - i did wonder if it was just the whole new mum thing, and being a boring old married woman ;) but the more I think about it the more I think my weight has repressed my true bubbly happy self!!

Cant wait til it comes back :D

I compleatly agree I'm way more fun and confident when I'm slim(ish) I feel like I can be myself while I'm big I feel like everyone is always watching me and laughing at me - I'm sure there not but I can't wait to go back to being me again!!!! Good luck Hun xxx

I found I would stop making the "im a happy fat person" jokes and instead showed off my true colours and that im actually a nice person rather than a complete jealous female dog!!

Now ive put the weight back on my confidence is in the gutter but I cant wait to get it back as I rememeber feeling so brilliant :) x

I find the smaller I got I've gone more the opposite, I no longer need the 'fat girl bubbly' personality who felt the need to be extra specially nice so everyone would like her. Not saying I've become a complete cow but now I'm not afraid be alone or speak my mind for fear of someone not liking me. It feels quite liberating to be free to be myself!

İ totally agree lorraine!:)
since ive gained all this weight i constantly put myself down without even realising in and when im around people i make sure im the first one to critisise myself..i think its a sub conscious thing in that if i say something bad about myself other people wont get the chance!!i avoid nights out its ridiculous..i want my life back and my confidence too.Ive lst 14.5 pounds in the last 5 weeks and although i still have around another 3 stone to lose i can feel my confidence very slowly starting to come back:party0011:

Well done hun, I have lost 11lbs and I agree with you - I am starting to notice a difference in personality - I am so much happier both to be noticing a difference in my clothes, but also in my personality and conficence! Long may it continue x

awww well i used to see people much heavier than i even am when i was out and i used to think they look happy so whats wrong with me but lately ive come to realise that we are probably all hiding behind the same mask!!
all my friends used to say how bubbly and happy i was and ive always been but as the weight crept up and that became a front..im just looking forward to the day when i can look in the mirror and feel good about myself...
dont ever worry your not alone in feeling like that :gen126:
