I really am at the end of my tether, the end of the world, call it what you like.

I need to find an eating plan / way that I can do for the rest of my life.

I am so sick of starting a plan, be it ww, sw, whatever, on a Monday and then come Wednesday, it's all gone pants. I love my food, but need to do something, and quick.

    I don't like/want to be told what I can and can't eat.

I have tried just eating less, but failed at that too.

I have tried listening to Paul McKenna's CD and that didn't work. I'm a busy working mum of 2, and can't always find time to eat slowly or when I am hungry.

I know that ww works for portion sizes, and I also know that ww works, but I don't want my kids to grow up to be scared of food, seeing mummy weigh out quantities of pasta, porridge etc.

I also can't see me on ww for the rest of my life.

What can I do? Do I bite the bullet and say "Yes, ww does work, so suck it up and get on with it" or do I spend the next few weeks moaning about how I can't lose weight, trying this plan and that plan and making myself miserable and ill in the process?

    healthy eating/cal count
Over the past 6 years I have done slimming world, weight watchers, apple diet, cereal diet, starvation, the lot!
I'm now dong calorie counting and in week 7 and on a loss of 8.8lb this is probably the most consistent my weight loss has EVER been! before it would be +3, -3, +5, -5 ~ sort of all or nothing.
With CC I can use my cals on chocolate without thinking 'i've blown my points (ww)' or 'i've blown my syns' which I would do the first day after weigh in and then go on a binge for the rest of the day/weekend/week.
I understand if CC isn't for you but its maybe just worth a go for a month and see how you get on???
I've just learnt to make different choices ie curly wurly (115cals) instead of a snickers(300 cals).
I still have weight watchers meals sometimes just because they are quick and handy and they tell you the calories (no messing about weighing stuff).
hope this helps and good luck.

    Hi Nattylou and diet again,
I know how u feel, it is hard losing weight esp ad this is by no means an excuse its harder esp if u have kids, i have four so being on the go all the time all u want is something quick and easy.. I lost 3 stones a couple of years ago on ww at that time my mind was 100% focused on losing weight and once u see results u are determined to carry on, somewhere along the way esp this summer hols i have gained around 10lbs not very impressed but im determined to lose that and more like i said on my other thread its my brothers wedding in novemeber and i would liketo lose 2 stones - i lost the 3 stones before in 3 months so am hoping with excersise and healthy eatint this will help.. trust me hun u just need tell yourself u can do this, ive not been that motivated cos my friends have either gone back to work or quit ww so im doin it on my own with the help of some of u guys on this board calorie counting and excersise.. why dont u do this with us.. 1 few days will be hard once u get the hang of it it will be ok.. we know how u feel, it is hard but we are all in the same boat - best of luck and dont be mad with yourself :) x

hiya, it ia hard isnt it, but as someone has already said, firstly you have to stop beating yourself up-i know from personal expereince that its self defeating, i just eat more cos i'm angry with myself.

You need to find an eating plan that suits you, there are loads of different ones and they all work, but some suit some people better. If you really have a problem 'controling' yourself, one of the meal replacement diets could work but i suspect you would be miserable. i love my food and have done ww and cal counting in the past and done ok with both, am now doing sw cos its suits me for now, i know this sounds harsh and i dont mean it to be, but your comments re not liking being told what you can and cant eat might need addressing, if you want to change your weight, something has to change, and that has to be what and how your eat? no one can change AND stay the same
I think you need to have a long hard look at exactly what you want from a diet and have a look at the different ones and what each has to offer you. we are all here for support whatever you choose.

    Good luck
