Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

Thanks Katie & Frances, will try both. He's certainly not constipated and isn't straining but he just doesn't seem to get it all out in one go. Can't believe I'm wishing for an exploder just to get it out! Haha x

I never realised how interested in someone's toilet habits I could be until I had Éabha... And I can't believe how happy I do be when she fills a nappy ha ha ha ha

Me and Tom were saying this the other day. I text him telling him Cole has poo'd and he always texts back asking if it was soft or big or whatever. HAHA!!

Anyone have problems getting their babies to take milk once they started weaning? Ben was having 10iz 5 x a day, he's had a few days of a few spoons of porridge and he's had parsnip today but only at lunch time feed. But all of his bottles have dropped to 4-5oz.

Not sure about parsnip!!

Yep, Cole decided he preferred food to milk. He's on there 'proper' meals a day now and has reduced from 5 big bottles to 6oz with breakfast, at a push, 3-5oz dinner and tea and he would only take 5oz before bed but I try to make sure he has 8-9oz to get him to sleep x

All the poo talk is making me giggle esp as it's so true!
When at docs yesterday and she asked about Oliver's nappies I was able to describe then in detail lol!! X

All Henry's nappies are korma colours I used to love korma but I can't look at it the same lol x

Yeah the colours are enough to put you off ;) Hope you and your little man are doing well x

I lost a lot of blood after labour and I was on iron tabs for 2 weeks, I bled until 5 weeks, clear for 3 days and then bled again for 2 weeks, then clear until 11 weeks when I had a very very heavy period that knocked me for six :(

Went to docs yesterday as I was still feeling weak, drained, etc and I've got to have a blood test done next week to check my iron levels...
She thinks I should have been checked over after I finished the last lot but, of course, no one told me I had to go back to docs!
She thinks I'm anaemic... And after googling it (I know, I know..!) I've got every symptom going so we'll see...

Did you lose a lot of blood after labour? X

I had a piece of tissue pass when Ben was about 12 weeks after that had gone I stopped bleeding xx

I'm having problems Jess started bleeding again was examined internal stitches very tender. Started abx swab done if bleeding no better tmz I've to go for a scan. Temp 38. Hopefully il be ok x

Yeah it's very annoying!! I stopped bleeding 2 nd half weeks after. Went on the pill and started bleeding again and it got as bad as like I just gave birth. Then eased down again but still continuously bleeding, this time too I've got clots everytime I go to the loo.( Sorry tmi for some!)

It's been 11 weeks and 3 days since birth.. I think I may be anemic too with the symptoms. x

Yes we did... Even now he isn't that interested in milk. 6-6oz max in one go and that's usually in the middle of the night

Ladies with reflux babies- are your little ones all on the anti reflux formula?
And how do you change it over eg. did you do it one bottle at a time or...?

Oliver is taking his 7oz bottles with no probs, draining them as well and I'd be considering upping to 8 but he's bringing up a good 2oz afterwards.. Not all in one go but within half hour of the feed...
I don't think I can wait until next week to go back to the GP so planning to contact HV tomorrow...
He's happy in himself, still teething but not in as much pain as last week, nappies fine etc.
Just need some advice really x

We didn't but then Oliver has silent reflux x

We didn't either and Cole also had silent reflux.

Yup I just did a straight swap and within a day had a completely different baby, I would give extra water though as I said before it gives them really bad constipation.

Ok thanks, I'm going to speak to HV tomorrow but I think I'll get some anti reflux formula as he's really really suffering... X

Éabha has nky started to reduce her milk intake. Up until about a week ago she was taking the same

Ladies. Quick question which is probably more relevant for those who have weaned/are weaning.....what do you do with solid pooey nappies? See I flush the poo down the toilet cos it tends to fall off easily and I just think that's where is seems best to go....means that the bin doesn't smell as much etc and I wouldn't have a poo and chuck it in the dustbin....however, I was at a friends today and did the same, she looked at me like I had grown 3 heads and thinks I'm going mad......am I?!!!! It just makes sense to me and as I use reusable nappies sometimes that's what you do with them.......

Hey.
I often throw my little boys poos in the toilet if able to as like you said it just falls out of nappy anyway and it stops the bin smelling quite as bad! X

Thomas' aren't that solid yet but it does make sense and I prob will do it when they are now you've had me think about it! :)
