Pregnancy and Slimming World

Thanks, just realised I'd been guilty of the same thing I was complaining about. :)

everyones guilty of commenting on bumpage! lol

how is everyone atm? iv had a very naughty couple of weeks food wise, but equally eating lots of good stuff. but i am feeling OK. my bump is growing nicely, my skin is clear and bar the mahoosive boobies, im feeling quite body confident!

im making a massive extra effort to bump my fruit and veg up, im loving stir frys, massive fruit salads.. and im trying hard to keep my fluids up. I havnt been to slimmingworld for 2 weeks.. (1 wiegh in) and i am unsure of whether i will go on wednesday. I think i will phone my consultant and tell her that i will come back to class when im back from my holiday. That i may not weigh, but i would like to stay to class. Il be 28 weeks when i get back, but come back on a thurs so will be a day short of 29 when i get back to class.. i think this is best for me at the minute.

on other news, my pelvic floor has completely given up on me. goes to show never doing the exercises in the past has come back to bite me in the ass, i always thought i had good conrtol but i cant stop piddeling a little more than a dribble every time i sneeze, which seems to be a lot atm! and have had to start wearing pads! can you believe it. . needless to say i AM practising now!

Hi Ladies.. was just wondering if any of you were doing SW before you got pregnant?? Did you just carry on as normal each week? Just myself and hubby thinking about trying again and so far I've lost 2 and half stone... and just wondering how your weight changed when you got pregnant but still doing SW?

I used to follow SW pre-pregnancy but since being pregnant I am limited the food that I like - so therefore not following it but try to have a healthy diet during pregnacy. If I didn't have such bad food aversions I would still follow SW as a way of staying in control rather then aim to lose weight during pregnancy.

i was sw pre-preg. i am still following loosley but had issues with sickness and couldnt eat certain things untill 16.17 weeks and have to an extent sturggled to get back on top of it, but you can continue with sw no probs x

I did sw pre preg (obviously as you can see it still early!) I have found it a bit difficult to follow since finding out but i think that's down to my willpower and time off work. I am planning to (as much as i can) follow sw all the way through as it's a really healthy plan and i want my baby to be healthy as well as myself :)
Good luck Billy :D

I'm having real trouble eating fruit atm- it's just making me feel sick (although pineapple might be ok- there's one ripening as we speak) Has anyone else gone off fruit?

Hi ladies wanted to join as I put 2.5 on in class only to find out last week I'm pregnant! Now I feel sick all the time and want to eat constantly!!! Any ideas to try and stay on track?

Hi Mandy, congratulations and welcome:)

I did Sw before and still following the plan now, even though i'm getting big waves of nausea i do feel better once i've eaten so trying to stick to SW stuff ie, fruit, yogurts and scan bran cake. Lost 1lb today so only 1.5lb off my lowest which was also when i found out i was pg!

Grumble - thats really bad of your docs , i'd have gone off my head lol! so excited about your scan:p

Fernxx thanks for reminding me about pelvic floor, i go through stages of piddling a bit after sneezing/coughing, seems ok at mo but better get that muscle in shape or i'll be on the tena ladies!!!!

Lexi - omg thats pretty rude of them to comment especially the pregnant one , she should know better! your bump is lovely and there is no right/wrong size to be at a certain time. Some people are just rude grrrr, as for touching belly's my sister use to complain that total strangers would come and touch/comment on her bump. I won't be able to keep my mouth shut if that happens to me lol ....touch me if you dare!!!!!!!

Aww i found out yesterday my SIL(to be) is pg and is due 2 wks after me, so chuffed! Grandparents are gonna dread xmas ha ha

off for a walk now after scoffing half an easter egg oooops! :D

xx

Hi and congratulations. I found that the first 17weeks was really hard to follow SW. I was either so sick or hungry that my eating was haywire, but once things settled down, I was able to get on plan.

My biggest tip is..... don't beat yourself up if you find days where you struggle to stay on plan. You will have good and bad days whilst being pregnant. You just need to make the most of the good days.

Good luck and keep posting x

I'm feeling like cr&p, my hayfever has made me go down hill. Feels like flu now :(

I've been out with family/friends everyday since Friday. I've been off plan, as all the food is high syns and I've had no control. Tomorrow my daughter has her 2yr check up with the cleft lip/palette specialist so tomorrow is likely to be another off plan and that then only gives me one day before my WI so no chance of damage limitation.

Don't you just find it so frustrating how things in life can unravel and you just don't have enough days in the week to roll it all back up lol

The silly thing is I can't taste anything, smell anything nor I'm hungry yet I still eat!!! Oh well baby has had one massive treat this week haha

Hey everyone,

How we all doing?

The nesting stage has kicked in over the last few days, my house is now completely spotless haha.

Got the inlaws arriving tomorrow from England and am booked in for my section on Thursday - EEEEK.

Weighed myself this morning and total weight gain in pregnancy is 16.5lbs. So will be interesting to see what I weigh after baby is born and how far I then have to go until goal. I am looking forward to the extra healthy extras that come with breastfeeding, it should be a doddle. lol

Fern - I know what you mean about the old pelvic floor, when I was about 28 weeks I had a vomiting virus and it got so bad I had to be admitted as I was dehydrated. On the way to the hospital in the car I was sat in the passenger seat and I was still being violently sick. The force of it and the fact I was bent right forward meant I found it hard to hold things in, and in between heaves I managed to confess to my other half, "I think I've just weed myself a bit.." Not my finest hour, and sorry ladies TMI!!!!

Britmum - all the best for Thursday hun :) hoping all goes according to plan, enjoy meeting your new little one. As for gaining 16.5lb's that's fab and you will soon lose that again I've no doubt :)

Fern - I do know what you mean - and anyone who hasn't started their pelvic floor - do try and get on top of it! I've had the same issue (sorry if TMI) had a bad cough and found every cough resulted in slight leakage.

Lexi - try not to let people get you down by mentioning your bump. Every bump is different, it all depends on different things - baby could be lying in a funny position, all the bump pics I've seen on here have been beautiful and I wouldn't say any look too big or too small - at the end of the day all the babies will be arriving with different weights - and therefore all bumps will be of a different size!

Congrats to the newcomers who have just found out they are pregnant - I hope everything goes well for you all, also that staying on plan gets easier for you all as well. I know I'm still struggling to stay on plan at the moment as I tend to graze rather than eat meals. But we will see how things go - am not going to beat myself up too much if I can avoid it.

Good luck for Thursday Britmum, can't wait to see pics of your gorgeous babe x

Britmum - good luck for Thursday! Let us know how it goes (when you're able of course!)

Fern - been trying the old pelvic floor but finding I keep forgetting and what i've actuallky done is set an alarm on my phone 3 times a day to remind me to do them. I'm also wearing a pad but not for pee leakage more.. erm.. secretions? TMI?

Oldboiler - congratulations!!

BillyFG - I was following it loosely as had fallen off wagon and although my midwife said she';d rather I didn't follow SW when pg, I've been following the plan roughly, but with extra syns/treats thrown in.

Cheeky - I feel your hayfever pain, my throat feels like its on fire and like I have a cold, husband assures me I'm snoring like a pig at night now as nose is so blocked. Did you manage to get to the docs for any hay fever meds?

Me: Just back from dinner out, where everyone else was tucking into unlimited ribs, and I had garlic and rosemary chicken, broccoli and a baked potato. And a cheeky Choc milkshake. Fasting now until 12pm tomorrow as have gestational diabetes testing and I'll get my results on Weds.

Baby kicking me all over the place and its really funny can feel them stretching for more room as belly is moving diagonally at times.

Really feeling the tiredness now and very hormonal/easy to make cry (not like me at all, I'm not a "greeter"). Woke husband up at 3:30 to ask him if he was sleeping with someone else, for no apparent reason, then cried for about a hour, stormed off to the couch where I sat up all night feeling like a numpty and embarrassed.

Anyway have a fruit salad bowl for after my Gest Diabetes testing, and if I'm up early enough will take a couple of boiled eggs along and some salad, if not they'll provide me with lunch anyway.

Hi ladies,

Hope you are feeling ok today.
I am hating being back in work today after being off since the 15th... needed at least an extra 2 hours in bed!!

Got a question for those of you a bit further along...
I am planning a 3 night camping trip in July. It's not to a camp-site as such, but to a VW camper festival in the grounds of a castle.
We went last year, facilities are ok - toilets consist of porta-loos, but there are stand alone showers (5 min walk away), and as it's a festival there are lots of food and drink stalls as well as shopping stalls etc...
It's not loud and dirty like a music festival - it's very family orientated so I'm not worried about noise and overly rowdy people or anything.

I'm going to be 30 weeks when we go.
Now at the moment I'm assuming I'm going to be ok. But I'm starting to get more and more concerned, mainly about firstly getting comfy generally, and secondly about getting up and down out of bed (we'll be sleeping on an airbed in a tent).
Luckily it's fairly local to us - less than an hour away, so the reassurance is that at least if one night is too much I can go home...

What do you all think? Am I fooling myself in thinking I can do camping at 30 weeks... ?

I don't really know as never been 30wks pregnant and can not imagine what it is going to be like for both of us at until that time. All you can do is if it a try and if not is there anywhere you can go to a B&B - where you can still go to the festival but in comfort :)

Hiya Sarah, I'm nearly 34wks and from my own personal experience of coping of being pregnant at 30 wks I felt strong and full of energy during the day. It's only in the last couple of weeks where I'm tried abt 8.30 but I'm also suffering from hayfever/flu so that's not helping.

It depends how your carrying baby, this time I'm small and feeling energetic but with my first I was big, had gained lots of weight and felt tired all of the time.

I think work on going and as you say if it gets too much you can always come home x
