Pregnancy and Slimming World

It's really hard to stay on track but you have to remember sometimes it's not baby weight or just that you want to eat nice 'junk' my doctor told me that if baby is craving something we feel it too but associate it with many different types of food, like sugar baby might be needing natural sugars like fruit, but we feel like we want a huge chocolate bar. I ate loads and loads of fruit first few weeks, now I'm struggling to eat it because I just can't force myself. I gained 3.5 st with my first, and went up 3 dress sizes nearly 4. This time I've gained 2st13lb's and swore I wouldn't get as big. This time though it's all gone on my bump and I've only gone up one dress size.
You might have more motivation in a couple of weeks but just remember even if you try and fail at healthy eating a million times it's better than not trying at all. I lost over 4st after my first, I'm confident I'll be okay after.
Everyone on here understands, good luck xx

Don't worry hun, early pregnancy is hard, i reckon everyone on here went through the same at that stage, you just don't feel like eating meal stuff all the time. I wouldn't worry it does settle down, I'm 37 weeks and still under 2 stone gain at the moment, even with all the pizza and chocolate and other junk, trust me it will balance out xx

Thanks ladies, it's just so tough!! Think I might start doing my diary again to try and give me a bit of motivation to eat right, but I'll try not to worry if it goes wrong :)

Don't worry hun - I've gained a lot of weight but joined sw last week (to be a little healthier!) but last night I fancied snacks! I'm hoping for a maintain this week now haha xxx

I could barely cope in work today! So hot! Had my 30wk appt today which was running 1.5hrs behind & mine took 1hr! Bloods done, bp done, fundal height, then repeated scan to check size & got dates changed with docs approval- then had a swab taken as I had tests done in dec when I was in hospital & found out I was pregnant - got a letter last week(6 mths later) to say signs of infection!!!) so midwife testing just in case! Urged me to make a complaint too....

Just wondering if anyone else has ever been sore after a swab?

Baby is 3-3.5lbs & bump 30cm at the minute and despite my fears the clever wee pup is face down already! So what I thought was a head is actually a bum!!!

Gotta go for glucose test next thurs now- appts all seem to kick off from now! Hopefully that means its gonna fly?!?!

Hey hun, can i ask why you would be sore...i thought the swabs were done from nose mouth and groin? My mum had some done before her op she said you do it yourself...

I had a high vaginal swab & only thing I can think of is that she cut me! Back 2 normal after 2 days though!

Has anyone used or planning to use a tens machine? Dunno what to do! Contemplating ordering one...

I'm 10wks tomorrow and I'm the same. Got to get back on track.
With my first I think put on about 5st, shocking I know but it was all gone before my boy was 1 and I was the same starting weight this time round.

I am almost 31 wks now but can't reel it in still... I just eat & eat! This is my first and think I'll have bout 4 st on by August! Hoping it's easy to shift once baby bump is here! But as long as bump is healthy I'll focus on myself later!

I shifted 4 and a half stone, baby weight is much easier to lose but it's just my shape that changed x

I found baby weight really hard to shift and I never got rid of the last stone, I guess it would depend on how skinny you were to start with; ie if you were 8 stone it would be harder to get back to normal than if you were say 16 stone to start with

Sweetchanti good luck for your c/section next wk hope it goes well, without any complications xx

She's so beautiful, I just love babies. Can't believe it's been 8 weeks already. I'm really proud of my weight loss after pregnancy, I'm hoping to lose more this time but it will take few months, I've done it before I'm sure I can do it again but it's a small price to pay for what will be an amazing family x

Becca, I really hope your early, I think I'll prob be last out of the June babies but the more of you ladies that go first means I'm getting closer :)

I'll probably be last for June bubs, would love her to come early, think I'm going into July though, gonna be so bored. I'm cleaning my sterilizer and pump at the moment. Then just gotta finish decorating the flat, serious nesting issues, not one room that hasn't been touched in some way

how di you lose all that weight after your first hun ?did you follow a certain diet? ne hopes i go early too as i really havent prepared myself for going over

I first weighed 5 days after birth, and had lost 22/23lb's but I'd hardly eaten since start of labour the sat night until Jack was born lunch time Monday. Then lost my appetite until wed when I was let out hospital. Jack was 7lb 15 so the rest would have been water etc. Then the first few days I was eating whatever not healthily but the weight was dropping off, I think excess water and the fact I bottle fed so my milk seemed to dry up quite quickly. Then I started eating whatever hubby was having but much smaller portions. Then I stuck to just trying to avoid really bad stuff and have smaller portions. I did sw for about 8 weeks and lost just over a st. So it all added up. I did put a st back on between July and Nov last year leading u to my wedding though. This time I'm goin to try healthy eating and smaller portions at first, then calorie counting then poss try WW or sw again x

Aww Cas she is gorgeous. How are you doing with the weight loss and what way are you doing it? Are you sticking to slimming world or something else? When I had Amy I completely craved sweet stuff afterwards and I worry I will again – I would need abt 30 syns to ‘partially” satisfy my cravings haha. I might tweak SW and see how I get on, have 25 syns a day but reduce the A’s and B’s. I drink Skimmed Milk as it is so get lots of calcium and planning on breast feeding too so maybe just have 2 As and 2 Bs.

Ideally i’d to lose a stone after having the baby (thats what I did with Amy) which will take me to the top of my bmi range) and then I want to lose the next stone and half before March (definitely by the beginning of May though as my little sister is getting married)!

So whens Sweet Chantily’s c section? Becca not long for you and you never know you could be early. I still have 4 weeks left and as Amy was a week late I expect to be late with this one too. Problem is I am soooo uncomfortable already. I am struggling to bend over (i don’t remember this with Amy). I think its because I am having a boy so i am mainly bump and its one massive ball. I really cant imagine another 5 weeks of it (lets be realistic i will probs be late).

Got to wait in for my Ikea delivery today (which is annoying as its my day with my little girl) and then tomorrow am going to build the wardrobes! Friday is my weigh in and am hoping I can rack 2 days of being good into the mix of naughties haha. Its a taste tester so not sure what to make but as on maternity definitely will make something..... off to browse rest of minimins now (not really done that lately).

BTW Oasis you did amazing there – how you lost 22/23 pounds in 5 days is crazy. Amy was 6-8 (so only 2 pounds less) and yet I only lost 14 pounds when I weighed 4 days after birth. Then I stayed the same for 5.5 months (although realistically i don’t actually know as didn’t weigh myself at all, i could of put on a stone as i craved sweet stuff and lost it as she got bigger and took more milk).
