Pregnancy and Slimming World

Good luck mummy Clark & hope all goes well!

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments about daddy bear! Exciting times ahead but I know sad times without my folks with me too!

I'm due 12 aug but maybe b4 as I'm measuring way above the chart too & have another growth appt next week! I don't get what u can tell from a Tape measure either!!!

VM i think you are next then (MummyClark excluded from this of course as will be this week!) :D I lose track tho, so apologies if i am wrong - there has been a flutter of births the last few weeks! :D

Apparently due to a certain 'book' currently the bestseller, there is a baby boom predicted for about 8-9 months time!!!! haha! x

At this rate u won't be next lol
Cramps have stopped now, knew it was too good to be true :(

Katerpiller - sounds lovely and welcome to the world of green notes!!!!!! :) when you planning on telling work - will they be surprised?

I am absolutely dreading telling work!!! I am currently working on a project that will culminate in an exhibition from July - Sept 2013. I will now obviously be starting my maternity in January 2013 and unable to see the project through to completion :(

I am absolutely OVER THE MOON to be pregnant and I'm 31 now and been thinking about it for years so am totally chuffed, but I do feel sad that I won't be able to finish something I have started. I need to tell them ASAP but am torn between telling them too early (I am 9+3) or waiting until I have had my scan (midwife said I should have a date through in 2-3 weeks) - would rather give them lots of notice so we can get the right person in to take over.

It's really playing on my mind at the minute as I am so worried about it!!

In other news, I had a meeting that started at 10am and ran through until 1.45pm and I had had nothing to eat since a yoghurt at brekkie - have never felt so sick in my life! Nearly fainted standing up!!! Won’t be doing that again! (the meeting wasn't meant to last that long BTW it massively ran over so everyone was starving - me more so ha ha!) All fed and watered now and feeling better.

I tried to wait til after my scan which I had at 12 weeks but at 10.5 weeks I had trouble getting the time off for my appointment so I had to tell them what it was for, so I figured I may as well of jet everyone know since were such a small office x

Hello ladies, not posted for a few days because I have been exhausted Lol. Now I understand why I had pregnancy insomnia in the final weeks before the birth – to prepare me for the fact that Daniel had his night and day mixed up.

Hubby and I were so grateful for the ready meals we prepared in advance because I don’t know how we would have managed. The first night he was home he was awake and crying from about 9pm until 4am before finally going to sleep. Then Amy woke up at 7am as normal – that was a Wednesday so her day off from nursery. Luckily I managed a sleep in the day. Then Wednesday night he did the same, crying from 8pm until 3.30am.

I wasn’t as tired though as I went to bed at 10pm and left him with hubby until midnight so I got 2 hours sleep. I ended up cluster feeding for the next 3.5 hours before he finally settled. Last night he was better, he still slept a lot in the day but I managed to keep him awake for a bit after each feed and the crying/ cluster feeding started earlier (about 5pm) which meant I managed to get him to sleep at 10.15pm. He actually slept from then til now waking twice in the night (both times about an hour) so I am incredibably happy. I hope this is progress and not just a fluke that he slept at night time!!

Mummy clark – Hope the sweep worked for you, I haven’t seen any other posts so either you having the baby or so p*$$ed off you don’t even want to come online. Hope its the first one :)

Katerpiller – Ooh exciting. Dont worry about putting on the weight early. You had a similar BMI to me at the start (presumably your stats are from the start and not now). I put on a fair bit as well but managed to keep it officially to 35 lbs (well 35.5lb). I have weigh in today but I think I might have lost just under a stone which will leave 21/22 that I still have to lose which isn’t the end of the world.

I am the same as you Katerpiller about telling work. I know a lot of woman have kids but I was worried about what they would think about me wanting another year off when having a second. Its almost like I feel its important to tell them I do only want 2 kids – and I wouldn’t dream of having 2 so close together so your only back a short while before going off again. I know work cant do anything about it but I would still feel guilty. The thing is everyone was really happy for me. My manager was even though it mean he had to look for someone. So I do understand how you feel but I think everyone will be happy for you regardless of the time.

On the 50 Shades of Grey – I havent read it. It doesn’t appeal really (its not the soft porn bit that doesn’t appeal but the fact that i read people say that Grey is abusive and I don’t like the idea of it). What’s people opinion? I know everyone is talking about it so made me laugh there might be baby boom in 9 months as wouldn’t be surprised!

I'm still about I'm afraid, just been to watch the Olympic torch go by, feeling cramps again. So annoying, goin for another sweep tomorrow :(

Oh no :) your baby is way to comfortable, fingers crossed you don't make youpc sweep tomorrow x

Oh no. You must be pulling your hair out at the moment. I cant blame you for being annoyed.

Been to weigh in, lost 15lbs today woohoo. Do you think it would be wrong that if i end up winning slimmer of the month for July (as am going to be good this month) to take the new special book you only get for slimmer of the week or slimmer of the month? what do you think haha

I never once got slimmer of the week initially as I only joined when I had a little over a stone to lose so my max was only ever 2.5lbs in a week!

Wow!!! That's fantastic!!! Xxx

Well ladies, I went into labour last night. Wasn't sure if it was just twinges. About 2.30 I said to my husband I thought we better get ready to go.

By time I called hospital, called my friend, dropped Amy off and went up hospital it was 4am. I was 5cm dilated when they checked me and I moved to delivery suite. An hour later at 5.21am on 2ns July Daniel James was born. All he done so far is sleep.

Mummy Clark hope you are having your little one too.

Congratulations!What a handsome little chap!

I think that is one of the bestest things about birth is seeing the drastic pounds afterwards sleep away :D Seriously before going into labour weigh yourself and then after birth do it again, it is buzzing losing all that weight, lol

2 syns is nothing!! Your doing really well!! I'm really interested in seeing how you get on, we have similar weight when getting pregnant, and I'm hoping I can do the same as you, not gain too much and lose quick ish after baby comes!!

Glad Daniels doing well :) x

Yeah mine swelled quite big but went down a bit after a week, still leaking quite a bit ,n I hope when my milk goes it'll get rid of a little bit of weight. It's good you've managed to stay on plan, my first week I wasn't dieting and was eating whatever really but was having really small portions etc as I'd totally lost my appetite. It's back now though but I'm doing okay.
How's Daniel sleeping? Are you getting much rest? x
