Pregnancy and Slimming World

Yeah that's for my booking in. 11 weeks exactly and then scan will be just before 14 weeks. I've called and spoke with the antenatel team at the hospital and she was great, said the test they do for downs isn't really relevant as there are many babies who have a thicker neck and the blood test will be better to determine it. She really put my mind at ease And told me to enjoy the next 6 weeks and not get stressed x

We decided not to do any of the downs tests. OH was against having an ammnio or anything intrusive and I didn't see the point in having the bloods done in case it said high risk to then spend the rest of my pregnancy worrying.

For me it didn't start feeling real until I started with my appointments and saw our baby!

But deffo enjoy the next few weeks (and months till baby comes)!

Hi ladies, I'm 23+2 pregnant. Been hovering on this board for ages. I've been quite lucky as I'm still lighter than I was pre-pregnancy. I still have horrible sickness but have been sticking to SW as much as possible. This is baby number 4 for me and I can safely say I've never felt so rough :(
I'm due to finish work on 1st feb- due on the 18th feb. I am also trying to write my dissertation as I'm in my final year at uni.

Hope you're all doing ok :)

I'm not worried if I don't have the tests, I just can't get my head around nobody doing any scans/bloods/pee tests or anything and just taking my word for it.

I've felt so rough and so that's enough for me to know the baby is still growing but it still doesn't seen real.

I was exactly the same, I wouldn't do any tests that would risk the baby so thought there was no point doing tests that are inconclusive, I'm low risk anyway! Its deffo the appointments and especially the scan that make it feel real, especially if you're keeping it to yourself!! Although the queasyness was pretty real, lol!!!xx

Well done on still being lighter, me too at the mo thanks to slimming world, I was still losing weight regularly at the start, don't know how as I was having rather a lot of toast to keep the sicky feeling at bay!!

Bloody hell baby number 4, I bet you must be exhausted being preggers, having 3 kids to look after and uni to do, I've found it much harder just having one to run round after!! Hope you stop feeling rough soon & start to glow, I will be jealous though as I totally missed the glowing part!!xx

Evening ladies! After being really good for ages, I fell completely off the SW wagon today. Had a buffet in Uni and ended up going to the chippy of the way home! And now I've eaten a giant bag of maltesers! I have such a headache & feel sick now that I'm quite looking forward to eating healthily tomorrow. I can't believe this is how I use to eat all the time! It's no wonder I always felt sluggish.

I've got my 28 week midwife appointment this afternoon, haven't had one since 16 weeks as its my second so looking forward to it! Well except they've gotta take my bloods and I've gotta have my anti-D injection which means its up at the hospital! Nice to finish work early though!! I'm hoping they'll measure my bump (not that its that accurate) I'm curious as to how I'm measuring! Also wanna know what position the babies in as I can never tell!!!xx

Howdy pregnant peeps!

Been away from here for a while (gave checked in a couple of times to have a nose ^_^) but been ok I think with dieting. I've just come by to ask a few questions.
I'm 16 weeks now and have been feeling bump #2 move since Saturday so I was 15+4 when it happened. Today (16+2) I'm feeling bump loads. It's lovely ;) but I'm not really showing. I'm 5'11". So I have loads of room to grow but I'm a little concerned I'm not putting on the weight I should be. Lol! Sounds ridiculous I know to want to weight on but when did you peeps or at least 2nd time around mums start to show and gain weight?

Any advice or info gratefully received. Hope all are well too! ;)

Its still early days so most people don't show that early unless they've got a ridiculously flat stomach to start with! You'll prob start showing in the next month or so but other people wont notice for longer than that I'd say!! This is my second & I think I showed quicker this time but don't think I was showing at 16 weeks really. You only put on a lb or 2 in the first trimester on average, I continued to lose weight at first, I'm 28 weeks and have a lovely big bump, deffo noticeably pregnant but am still 1 lb under what I was when I found out! As long as you're eating healthily, getting the nutrients you need and not going hungry I think its fine that you haven't gained yet! Baby will be growing but you may be shrinking somewhere else! xx

THANKS!!! That's put me at ease. I'm still about a lb away from where I was when I found out but my lump is a definite lump only I can feel. Lol! It's been so long since I was pregnant. I forgot everything. Last time was 5+ years ago. ;)
Wow you've done amazingly well to be only a lb away from you start weight at 28 weeks. Hope I'm like that. And shrink too lol!
Thank you again!

Was scan today 13+3 and so far I've put on 5lbs but that's been completely off plan for every meal till today so I guess it could be worse!!

What a great scan picture :) xx

Yippee 9 weeks today :-D I get more and more excited every week that passes.

I'm finding I'm feeling so full and sick after lunch though :-( I hate it. I then never look forward to my dinner. Today is particularly bad I've had he following to eat....

Breakfast - 2 weetabix and milk

Snack - small pitta with spread

Lunch - 2pm - panini and low fat crisps, handful of chips.

I know this isn't the best food to be eating and that may be contributing to the sicky feeling :-(

I'm going get back on sw tomorrow because I am going away 2 weeks tomorrow and need this bloat gone.

Hi girls

I found out yesterday that i am pregnant with my 2nd child. So im determined to get back onto SW and make this pregnancy as healthy as i can as last time i literally ate rubbish all the way through.

Im 16st 6lbs and want to loose as much as i can and as have fibromyalgia and i struggle daily anyway so i need a massive kick up my bum as i definatly wouldnt cope being this size and heavily pregnant!

Any advice is welcome especially with how do deal with morning sickness! Xxx

Snap! ;-) i am also 5 weeks pregnant with my second child. I am absolutely bursting with excitement and want to tell everyone but can't for now x

Glad it helped!! :) I'm actually 2.5 lbs less than when I found out I was preggers as I lost 1 1/2 lbs at slimming world this week, was well chuffed!! I'd love to get to 30 weeks before my official baby gains start, only 2 weeks away so fingers crossed!!xx

Great pic FionaMcd!!!

I had the midwife on Thursday for my 28 week appointment! Took ages to get my blood, they always struggle, I told her I've got crap veins (low set apparently) she said don't worry I'm usually good at bloods! Then she had a look and changed her mind so called another midwife, she didn't like the look of my arms but said she could get some out of my hands if I didn't mind! I said give it your best shot, doesn't bother me in the slightest and she got enough for 1 sample from the one hand and then couldn't get anything from the other hand so I hand to take a stroll down to the path lab who got it no probs, lol!! Heartbeat sounded great and he's lying across which is fine for your second, don't usually engage until the last minute! She measured my nump and I'm measuring 2 weeks ahead, eeeeeeek!! Gonna be a whopper, I don't think the measurements are that accurate really but Freddie was 8lb 7oz so could be in for 9 lb'er!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!xx
