I doubt they're wrong (see above!) but even if they are you still have a gorgeous little baby <3 You'd just have to get used to the change in pronouns ;)

Lol that is true!' As long as I find out while she is still attached otherwise I will think they have been swapped!! :-/

We too haven't bought the powder blue items but others have. So for people who find out might b an idea to keep it to yourselves?

We were just so excited to have a boy we couldn't contain it!! Xx

Yea we've said IF we find out we're keeping it between us.. It'll be a task n a half for me as I'd literally just pee'd on the stick when I text my 2 closest mates n told them I was PG.. LOL
But if we find out its just for us.. It'll be our little secret :D :D
I half don't wana know now.. Oh God.. Wonder what i'll do ha ha

We were just plain excited hehe but the sex was never an issue for us, we'd have been happy with either. The only reason we wanted to know was a) we were struggling with boys names and wanted to know if it needed more thought and b) we were fed up of referring to the baby as 'it' and wanted to say 'he' or 'she' as it just sounds nicer.

I would agree that if you don't want traditional pink/blue baby stuff definitely keep quiet! Even friends who know us well are buying us traditional baby stuff and we're the least traditional couple ever lol ;)

Tbh though once I knew there was no way I could keep quiet, it was just so exciting to find out! And I don't think it'll spoil the surprise when he's born - the surprise for me will be everything else. Who will he look like - me or husband? What colour hair will he have? That's the important stuff to me, not what bits he has ;) x

My sister had a baby last week. Found out what she was having so was all set with lotsa pink... Turns out she needed blue

Noooooooooooo!!!!! See team yellow all the way here lol!

I didn't want to know at the start either Frances. We always maintained we wouldn't find out. By 18 weeks I was like 'TELL ME NOW!!!' lol. I'm just very impatient! Plus we were so certain he was a he that it didn't feel like there would be much surprise anyway ;)

Yea pretty much the same for me.. When I first found out I really wanted it to be a girl.. Then I wanted it to be a boy.. Obviously wouldn't be disappointed in any way either way but just a "aw it'd be nice if...." Now, am not fussed.. One of each please :D :D lol But am SO sure its a boy.. But my OH keeps giving out to me telling me i'll be disappointed if i'm wrong.. If my baby arrives nice n healthy I will be over the moon...
I struggled at the start of this pregnancy as it was a surprise. I feared another section as my experiences have been awful. Having one of each already I'd kind of decided early on what I thought I was having. I still don't know if this was a hunch or if I wanted that gender more than the other.
After the gender scan I started to feel better and grew more attached to the baby. As I've had to buy everything again I have given in and bought gender specific things. From that aspect I hope to god they were right!

Mama-bear x
I'm a very gender pacific but as this is only our first and we're hoping to have at least another 1, I will keep the big buys gender friendly.. But if it was my last (planned lol) I'd def buy either way if I was to find out.. Like, if I'm having a girl I'd love her to have a nice pink buggy n bedroom etc.. Proper princess style.. Or likewise if it's a boy I'd love it nice n boyish.. But as its hopefully not our last we'll keep pram n bouncer etc to do either..
Tho am screwed if its a girl coz she'll be Baby O'Reilly for God knows how long as its only boys name have jumped at us.. Altho as much as they're jumping, there's not many we're loving.. LOL

Oh Mama-Bear.. Big hugs.. Mean are asses.. Mine is STILL in bed after waking me at 8am with his bloody snoring!!! Could slap him!!
Ignore the mess.. Its not a dirty house.. Its a lived in house and you can't expect it to be emaculate when you have kiddies..

Ok so I've had a complete melt down this morning and sobbed my heart out. Why? Umm, cause the kids have been kids and trashed the place while OH has been his useless self by sleeping in tuen going straight to work. He'll be there till after kids bedtime tonight. So I'm faced with the usual daily grind of cleaning, misbehaving children, getting ready for week ahead etc. Also sweating like mad for some reason. Could my hormones be changing again, getting ready for the end? I have a kids party to go to at 3 which I really don't want to attend today. I missed it last year due to being ill so don't think I can avoid today. Strange wee day. Feeling tired and just over whelmed. How's everyone else? Mama-bear x

Ah bless you, they just don't think sometimes do they! It could be that everything is changing as you get closer to the end which is v exciting! I know I'm getting more emotional as I go along, I'm a right loose cannon. It's funny how things change over the months.

I'm not bad today, feeling a bit less weepy than yesterday when I spent pretty much all day crying! My swollen hands and feet are definitely getting worse though - how much swelling is normal? I was struggling to get my trainers on this morning and they are pretty much the only shoes left that fit me! My wrists and hands are bigger too, I feel like I'm wearing gloves, like when your movement is slightly restricted? It feels horrible!

Oh well, feet up for a bit then I need to get on with cake baking and butternut squash roasting. Got my first load of baby clothes in the wash too which is a bit exciting! :D

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday :) x

Ooh they look sore, bless you! I recognise those sock marks from last night, they were really painful. Will mention it to the midwife as they have got a lot worse over the last two days and it does worry me a bit! I'm sure it's all normal though, another one of those pregnancy things to get used to ;)

Next month! So close now, not long until he's here and you get to make use of those lovely clean clothes :D

I've got 4 days till due date...but got at least 2 weeks worth of clothes ready to use in correct size...it's the washing of said items once worn which won't happen lol

Back ache -check
Period style cramps -check
Fidgety -check

No contractions though. Keep telling myself it's all going in the right direction. Hopefully one of these nights it'll all kick off.

Mama-bear x

Hopefully all that cleaning and running after the kiddies will kicksart it off xxx

So glad to hear you and little girl are doing well Safia! x

Baby's being quiet this morning - hate it when he's quiet! He's normally so active first thing and he wasn't particularly active last night now I think of it. I keep getting asked if he has a routine and I guess he does to an extent but it is still variable so how do I tell if anything is wrong? When am I supposed to be worried? I find this monitoring movement thing really stressful...

I'm off the the hospital this morning anyway as it happens so might see if I can talk to someone about it - got an appointment with the specialist mental health midwife to discuss birth options and how we can manage it all and keep me reasonably sane throughout! First of six trillion appointments this week, my work are so fed up of me lol ;)

Mama bear!!!!!! Sounds like a practice run good luck!

Flying in as I'm just going for a quick 3d scan!!!! Crazily excited to see what our baby looks like.

Exciting news from all this morning - hopefully everything is kicking off for you mama bear and am excited for your scan cake, I hope your experience is much better than mine :)

Me? Spent the morning in PAU annoyingly :( Went to see midwife and it was a really positive appt. She took me round and showed me the labour rooms (midwife and consultant lead) so that I can try and decide a bit more what I want in terms of environment. They did all the usual tests then and weren't happy with my wee test and the swelling that came up over the weekend. When I mentioned that baby had been a bit quiet over the last day or so they packed me off to PAU and put me on the monitor. Of course baby went crazy kicking about as soon as the monitor was on! Little swine, making me worry <3 That went ok thank goodness so now I just have a precautionary scan on wed to have a look at blood flow, etc and make sure everything is working ok. Relieved ain't the word and baby has been very perky since then!

Now at work, laughing at everyone demolishing my cake ;) Happy Monday all! x

Your little man knows how to get his mummy's attention. It's always best to be seen.
