Pregnant and CD

Hi,

My friend has been doing CD for just over two weeks and have just found out that she is pregnant. Can anyone advise on whether she can still be on CD ?? She says she wants to keep doing it for at least another 3 weeks!!!
I know they contain all the nutrients and stuff but surely the low calories makes it a bit unhealthy for baby??

She should absolutely not be on CD! Especially if she is Sole sourcing.

Being in ketosis whilst pregnant can cause a miscarriage.
Make sure she stops asap.

This diet contains all vitamins, including vitamin A which should never be taken as a supplement when pregnant, this diet should be considered as a vitamin supplement as you are not getting the vitamins and minerals from the actually foods they are in.

Even foods with high concentrations of vitamin A in them are not allowed during pregnancy ie liver, kidneys etc. (Carrots are fine so long as you dont eat the whole field)

Vitamin A has been linked with foetal abnormalities and should be avoided once you know you are pregnant

Maybe this information will convince her to come off the diet immediately.
