put on a 1lb :(

    Hi everyone,
    I'm at the end of my second week and have been struggling. Ate a couple of times this week and as a result put on a pound at my weigh in today:cry:. I was really good in my first week and lost half a stone but am finding it hard. Thanks to those of you who sent me some encouragement this past week. AM on bars this week, will that affect my weight loss. Please advise me and motivate me, feeling quite down... ate like a pig today but hopefully will get on track tomorrow.

    How dispiriting, it is so tough in the early days. The bars shouldn't make much difference to your losses, but please please please don't eat anything outside the diet. It does work, I promise you, and it does get easier. There are lots of different strategies for dealing with the chatterbox, I favour keeping busy, going out somewhere at times when you know you are most prone to nibbling, having long hot relaxing baths (which keep you away from the fridge). Remember why you are doing it, remember you are worth it, part of dieting is learning to say no to random food urges.

    If you do have a bad day and give in to food don't beat yourself up. The world isn't going to end, and you aren't a failure, we've all had lapses. Draw a line under it, drink loads of water, and pick the diet up again.
