Quark or Fat Free Fromage Frais Alternative?

Hi, I'm desperate to make some of the cakes on here, but the problem is I'm now living in Thailand and can't get hold of quark, fat free fromage frais, 0% greek yogurt or fry light. Does anyone have any suggestions of a replacement for these products?

Would tofu cheese (bean curd cheese) work as a substitute if you blended it in a food processor?

Alternatively, if you can get hold of skimmed (or semi skimmed) milk you could make your own cottage cheese and blend it in a food processor until it's smooth curd cheese (which is what Quark is) ... The milk would have to be pasteurised though - it doesn't work with UHT or homogenised (which I know may be a problem - Asian cultures aren't big on dairy).

Anyway - if you can get hold of it, here is the method :) Cottage Cheese - Making Your Own Cottage or Curd Cheese at Home
