No it's not the same as cottage cheese, it looks like cream cheese more than cottage cheese x

    Quark !!

It's a non creamy tasting cream cheese. When I get mine from Sainsburys, its not with the rest of the cream cheese, they keep in a random cheese selection section with all the blue cheeses etc etc. I dont know why but it is my new best friend, I love creamy pasta sauces but it does seperate if you get it too hot. Then it looks like baby sick!! nice:)

If you're having trouble finding it look for where the Feta is. I always tend to find it around there, usually shoved to the back as well :)

Are you using it to make a creamy topping? Fat free plain fromage frais works well with sweetener.

Does it taste cheesy? Or tangy like philadelphia? Thats what puts me off using that and things like yogurt in sauces, the tangyness :(

I'm making this with the quark ...

Low Syn Trifle (3 syns for the whole bowl)

    Ingredients:
2 packets of Hartley's sugar free strawberry jelly crystals
1 mullerlight yogurt of your choice
    strawberries
    1 pot of quark
    sweetener (Canderel i used)
    vanilla essence

Make the first packet of jelly up, put in a large bowl with the strawberries and leave to set in fridge.

Make up the second packet of jelly, add the mullerlight yogurt to the jelly and add the next layer to the trifle. Leave to set....

then mix the pot of quark in a large bowl with sweetener and vanilla essence until it tastes as sweet as you want it.
Add to the trifle. Leave to set for 30 mins.
    Yummy!!

Eat the whole lot and don't feel guilty for only 3 syns!

It seems to be used in many of the SW recipes, but I have never used it.
I'm supposing that you could use it in a creamy curry instead of yoghurt?

I don’t think there would be much point really as you can have fat free yogurt anyway for free
