Interesting Badger, I take it you also need some kind of insurance too if you work from home?
You will have to have public liabilty insurance, in case a client is injured in your home.
You would also have to make sure that there is no local or property restraints on you running a business from home.
As for children running around, there was a thread recently about what people expect from a cdc, many people said that a CDC's children being present and interrupting sessions is one of the things they didn't feel comfortable with.
I am also considering the training as soon as my bmi drops a little more, I have a seperate space in my home which is an office, but have already given a lot of thought to how I would work it around my children. After all it is a business and it has to be fair on both the children and the clients.
I work on and off from home presently and think people often underestimate a business such as this. It really isn't a case of having a business on the side, even if just a few hours, the same regulations and restrictions and costs would often apply. For instance, if your child is sick, or off school, you might need childcare just the same as if you were working a fulltime job for an employer. As especially with CD where clients absolutely rely on seeing their CDC, appointments can't often be changed short notice.
I would imagine, it could also affect holidays etc...
Sounds very interesting though!
